Just know
We are
A spec
In time.

So follow your bliss
And destroy the beauty

I'll lock myself alone in a room
Drink until the clock strikes noon
With just a pen, a pill, and some paper
And maybe I will write a sad song
Or another cliche poem
Of the person that I long to be

I want to die like Jim Morrison
A fucking rock star
I want to die like god on the cover of time.
Just a blink and it's gone
So baby pour some fame in my glass.

So kill the forest
And destroy the beauty.

I'll lock myself alone in a room
Drink until the clock strikes noon
With just a pen, a pill, and some paper
And maybe I will write a sad song
Or another cliche poem
Of the person that I long to be

(Colors blind)
the eyes
(Sounds deafen)
the ear
(Flavors numb)
the taste
(Thoughts weaken)
the mind

I'll attack someone with a switchblade knife
So that I can see their pain
I choose to be a serial killer
'Cause the victims don't get any fame.

I'll lock myself alone in a room
Drink until the clock strikes noon
With just a pen, a pill, and some paper
And maybe I will write a sad song
Or another cliche poem
Of the person that I long to be

Just know we are a spec in time

General Comment:i think this song is about trying to get fame any way he can. and i know that alot of people feel this way. and he puts it in very powerful lyrics.
this song is by far my most favorite song as of this moment.

General Comment:this is definitely my favorite senses fail song. i totally agree with what he's trying to get across, if i am interpreting it right. i feel like hes trying to say how very few people are remembered after time progresses. he uses examples like God and jim morrison to explain how they are significantly "famous" and will not be forgotten. i think in the chorus, he basically says how he starts drinking and going depressed because he cant reach a famous position. i feel the serial killer line is him reachign a breaking point where if he cant acheive fame, killing someone may be the best way to do it. the title confuses me a bit, but the closest thing i can relate is that if someone dies on their birthday, it might give them a little remembrance of them

    General Comment:to me it seems
that hes trying to say that
    our lives are worthless because
we are nothing but "a spec in time"
he wants to go out being known.
    so he writes lyrics, drinks

by the meanings i think hes tryin to say
that, dying on his birth day
would be ironic in the fact that
it would save him from living
out another "worthless" year of life
but thats just the meaning to me

General Comment:This song is about how becoming famous isso hard to do legitimately but not when you're just running around kiling innocent people.

    Amazing fucking band.
