What ya got now, gotta gotta give up
What ya got now, gotta gotta give up
What ya got now
What ya got now

We keep ourselves a mystery
But we provide, provide the clues
So the rest is up to you
And don't forget to check the obvious
We are so serious
So I guess it comes down to how curious you can be

What ya got now, gotta gotta give up
What ya got now, gotta gotta give up
What ya got now
What ya got now

Drama doesn't follow me, it rides on my back
I may be ugly, but they sure love to stare
Drama doesn't follow me, it rides on my back
I may be ugly, but they sure, but they sure,
Love to stare

And you check labels more than the FCC
And these calories are, are killing me
But this is a sticky situation
So keep your chest in the game
And drop your jaw and coax me

What ya got now, gotta gotta give up
What ya got now, gotta gotta give up
What ya got now
What ya got now

Drama doesn't follow me, it rides on my back
I may be ugly, but they sure love to stare
Drama doesn't follow me, it rides on my back
I may be ugly, but they sure, but they sure

This is a party without the people
This is a show without the sound
This is a dance without the steps
Now I gave you the clues so find what I found
This is a party without the people
This is a show without the sound
So I gave you the clues
So find what I found

Drama doesn't follow me, it rides on my back
I may be ugly, but they sure love to stare
Drama doesn't follow me, it rides on my back
I may be ugly, but they sure love to stare

General Comment:the chorus of this song just reminds me loads of my experience of high school. for some reason people just didn't like me for no good reason and i used to get alot of comments about my appearance and i used to try my best to stay out of people's way who were mean to me but it seemed like drama followed me.

'Drama doesn't follow me, it rides on my back
I may be ugly, but they sure love to stare'

those words remind me so much of my life for a long time.

Song Meaning:This is what I think this song means:

It's basically about high school life.

    We keep ourselves a mystery
But we provide, provide the clues
So the rest is up to you
And don't forget to check the obvious
    We are so serious
So I guess it comes down to how curious you can be

This is about those nerdy dorky unpopular people. They are saying, they keep
themselves a mystery, making them different from everyone else(The bratty people)
The provide clues part-They want people to realize they don't have to pretend to be anyone else, they want people to be themselves, so they leave "clues" behind. (Basically the clues are them) & it all depends are how curious and serious a person wants to be in order TO CHANGE.

Drama doesn't follow me, it rides on my back
I may be ugly, but they sure love to stare
Drama doesn't follow me, it rides on my back
I may be ugly, but they sure, but they sure,
    Love to stare

Yes, drama follows the unpopular people everywhere and they don't start it. They are saying, yes, we're ugly, but you sure love to stare. Meaning the drama(people) just love it. (But in reality, they are not ugly, people just LOVE drama).

And you check labels more than the FCC
And these calories are, are killing me
But this is a sticky situation
So keep your chest in the game
And drop your jaw and coax me

You know how people are labeled? Like, oh rocker chick! Emo kid! Nerd! Goody pants! Teacher's pet!
They are saying those other people just love to label and can't get enough of the drama they start.
Then they are saying this might be a tough sport(sticky situation) but to not give up and ignore those people that hurt you. "Keep your chest in the game, and drop your jaw and coax me" like saying come and try to bring me down! I'm ready for you!

This is a party without the people
This is a show without the sound
This is a dance without the steps
Now I gave you the clues so find what I found
This is a party without the people
This is a show without the sound
So I gave you the clues
    So find what I found

Then they realize that without those people, life would be boring. Without the bratty girls, and stuck up people there wouldn't be a party, everyone would be TOO happy, which is not right. But they still believe that what these people do is wrong so they tell them to find the clues, so find what I found, meaning finding yourself within and who you really are.

Whatcha got now, gotta gotta give up
Whatcha got now, gotta gotta give up
    Whatcha got now
    Whatcha got now

They are saying find yourself out now, before it's to late.
Beauty and popularity doesn't last forever.

These is my meaning of the song. :)

General Comment:Correct me if I'm wrong, but I always thought it was "I MEET the ugly, they sure love to stare."

It makes sense to me that way because the song is about drama and superficial people and that seems like something someone like that would say.

    And about the lines:

"And you check labels more than the FCC,
And these calories are killing me
But this is a sticky situation
So keep your chest in the game
And drop your jaw and coax me"

The FCC are in charge of putting the "Explicit Content" warnings on CD's. Therefore, there is sort of dual meaning that makes this line fit. They have to check with record labels when new CD's are coming out and check to make sure that CD's a properly labeled with the "Explicit Content" notification.

So the song is saying that the FCC goes through an extensive process to "check labels" but the people he's talking about check labels, i.e nutrition facts labels, more. Hence, "calories." The fact that there is a whole bunch of pressure from the media to have a certain image, by watching your weight which is done by checking the amount of calories you consume, is killing him.

The fact that it's killing him makes it "a sticky situation" because he's trying to be himself and live his life with superficial people telling him that he's supposed to act a certain way.

Yet he's trying to stay positive, "keep your chest in the game," and wants people to comfort him by telling him that what he's doing and what he believes is right.

"Drop your jaw" = open your mouth/talk
"Coax me" = make him feel better/ persuade

I assumed that was pretty obvious. *shrugs*

General Comment:This songs means simple that there is someone else in his life and he wants everyone to figure it out(or he wants his current gf/future ex to figure it out) "we keep our selves a mystery" him and the new person in his life "but we provide the clues" their both leaving clues to help his future ex to figure it out. "so the rest is up to you and dont forget to check the obvious" its up to her to see it for her self and make sure she pays attention to the obvious clues

    especially when he goes:
drama doesn't follow me, it rides on my back.
that's like my life right there. haha =]
    and then when he says:
drop your jaw and coax me.
does anyone else get the feeling he's
