[Love without guilt, love without doubt]
[Love without guilt, love without doubt]
[Love without guilt, love without doubt]
[Rejection, love without doubt]
(repeat)
(spoken twice in background during first and second verses:)
[Don't go near the fire, don't go in the dark]
[Don't give in to your desire, 'cause he's gonna break your heart]
[Let go, let go]
I don't, don't care if it's not right
To have your arms around me
I want to feel what it's like
Take all of you inside of me
[Chorus:]
In your eyes [in your eyes], forbidden love
In your smile [in your smile], forbidden love
In your kiss [in your kiss], forbidden love
If I had one wish love would feel like this [love would feel like this]
I know that you're no good for me
That's why I feel I must confess
What's wrong is why it feels so right
I want to feel your sweet caress
[Chorus:]
If I only had one wish
Love would always feel like this
Wishin' on the stars above
Forbidden love
If I only had one dream
This would be more than it seems
Forbidden love [forbidden love]
[Love without guilt, love without doubt]
[Love without guilt, love without doubt]
Rejection [Love without doubt]
Is the greatest aphrodisiac
[Chorus:]
[Love without guilt, love without doubt]
Love should always feel like this
Heaven forgive me, never forbid me
(repeat and fade)

but to me, the part that seals it is when she sings "are we supposed to be together?"
Its like gay people who arent sure if this is normal. Thats just my take on it...
The lyric line written above "are we supposed to be together?" also sounds like and is commonly quoted elsewhere as "always suppose to be together." I think it is primarily intended to be "Always suppose to be together" but is also geniusly intended to ask the question to the person who is referenced in the song as "You(r)" what it also sounds like "Are we suppose to be together"
The other line above that might be misquoted is ofter quoted as "It's been our destiny forever"
I think it is significant to the meaning of the song that the first line omits any reference to "you" or "your" whereas the other lines, such as "Just one touch from your hands was all it took to make me faulter" does reference "you(r)."
So here's my conclusions: "Just one kiss on my lips
Was all it took to seal the future " is a reference to a marriage kiss of the singer. That I'm fairly certain.
"Just one look from your eyes Was like a certain kind of torture," "Just one touch from your hands
Was all it took to make me falter," Just one word from your mouth Was all I needed to be certain" are in reference to a connection made between soulmates (one who is the singer and one not the one she married). Madonna seems to be all into that soulmate stuff/belief, and the other verses of the song make me think that is what it's about.
The forbidden love theme probably relates to marriage/monogomy thing, and from the other songs such as "Get Together" maybe even "Hung Up" and even "Jump" make me think it is more likely a strong value comming from the non-singer soulmate.
which makes sence since another line in the song is unlike quoted above sounds like and is ofter quoted as "It's been our destiny forever"
