There I was on a July morning
Looking for love
With the strength
Of a new day dawning
And the beautiful sun
At the sound
Of the first bird singing
I was leaving for home
With the storm
And the night behind me
And a road of my own
With the day came the resolution
I'll be looking for you
La la la la
I was looking for love
In the strangest places
Wasn't a stone
That I left unturned
Must have tried more
Than a thousand faces
But not one was aware
Of the fire that burned
In my heart, in my mind, in my soul
La la la la
There I was on a July morning
I was looking for love
With the strength
Of a new day dawning
And the beautiful sun
And at the sound
Of the first bird singing
I was leaving for home
With the storm
And the night behind me
Yeah, and a road of my own
Looking for love
With the strength
Of a new day dawning
And the beautiful sun
At the sound
Of the first bird singing
I was leaving for home
With the storm
And the night behind me
And a road of my own
With the day came the resolution
I'll be looking for you
La la la la
I was looking for love
In the strangest places
Wasn't a stone
That I left unturned
Must have tried more
Than a thousand faces
But not one was aware
Of the fire that burned
In my heart, in my mind, in my soul
La la la la
There I was on a July morning
I was looking for love
With the strength
Of a new day dawning
And the beautiful sun
And at the sound
Of the first bird singing
I was leaving for home
With the storm
And the night behind me
Yeah, and a road of my own

He obviously left her. Now, he's sorry.
She still loves him.
But not one was aware
Of the fire that burned
this line explains it all. he says he's "looking for love". the storm represents chaos, unsteadyness. he wants that burning desire for love but can't find the right one. well he says
"In my heart, in my mind, in my soul" --- is he also searching there? within himself?
now in the first verse he says "i was leaving for home with the storm behind me." maybe he search was chaotic, stormy. he needed something. what he found was in the storm. and now he leaves for home.
"with the day came the resolution, i'll be looking for you." he realizes haveing a woman is like a home. he's in his storm of a search relizes what he needs. a new day begins, now he knows and journeys on his "road of his own" meaning he's still alone but travels in the road of life to find love. but with the resolution that love is his bright and new day that gives him happiness to try to find. he's not chaotic anymore.
Excellent song, too. I love how the beginning just kicks straight into high-gear, then it quiets down as the lyrics start, then the last part...wow. Great song!
The jam in the end is just fantabulousticallyexcellent! :-)
THIS IS AN AWESOME SONG!
Yes. But I think this song is about loneliness, and looking for love and not finding it, and just going through life alone.
Kinda says itself. Unless there's a hidden meaning behind all that shit that I can't see? =)
