  General Comment:i think that on some level this song is certainly about MM. i like the PHM theory though. but to the person who wanted an explanation for the 1st stanza...i get you, but there are a lot of ways to whore yourself out, u dig? also, i was 17 in 1989; followed NIN from the beginning (lucky enuf to be from ohio). so i wasn't that far away from trent logistically or age-wise. even i can look back on some of my super-sucky college work and see dual unintentional meanings in my work. i imagine that happens to all artists, both as they look back and go forward, tho in no way am i even comparing my work to TRs genius. if only... :-)

  General Comment:One possibility that strikes me is that the song may be about NIN/Trent. Given that the first album was titled Pretty Hate Machine and he has announced that the NIN era is at a close, "Not So Pretty Now" could be an explanation for why Trent is bringing NIN to a close.
