The lights go down outside before our cars collide
The city silhouettes itself for these shades of fire
Do you know where these lines are leading?
I will meet you there

I'm covering up my eyes
Before they cover up your eyes or wrap your body all in white
And we await in the light of all the lives this can't be happening
Sorry it's not for me

We wake up
Covered in the marks from all these razors racing up our veins
We'll live and learn to love again
Open up your eyes and we'll be safe again from the razor's edge

And the hospital morgue sleeps
From the surgery
And the needles in the drawer
For emergency
But upstairs they sleep in the maternity
And the fever and the pitch

It's a brand new day
Just to be awake
This is how it feels
To live and learn to love again
Open up your eyes and we'll be safe, away from the razor's edge

The IV drips, the days drag on
The anastethic's now wearing off
Adjust the light switch in the hall, someone has left it on
And maybe the x-ray screen keeps it from getting dark
The bulb burns out when it gets too hot

Keep crashing this car over, over
Keep crashing this car over, and over
Keep crashing this car over, over
I can't keep crashing this car, still it spins out of control

So hold me close or I might disappear this time
Out of control
Like currents in the water we can't let go of the shore
We lost control

General Comment:This song is basically an extended version of the WATT b-side "Panic on the Streets of Health Care City." Still good, though.

General Comment:you can listen to this song in its final version on myspace, and LET ME TELL YOU it is well worth it, i think this song is probably my favorite thursday song, i think the thursday boys have created an album that tops anything they have ever done before

General Comment:i also hope they kept "I'm covering up my eyes!", as well as"It's a brand new...DAY!! just to be awake " and "we'll live and learn to love again" and "From the Razors Edge!". Basicly i hope they didn't tamper with the lyrics to much because there so damn powerfull.

General Comment:But upstairs they sleep in eternity

Shouldn't that be maternity? It fits more with the hospital vibe.

General Comment:From what I could hear in the Podcast, "Covering up my eyes" is still in the song. I'm not 100% sure, though.

General Comment:I really hope,"I'mCovering Up My Eyes" is still on this song, they appear to have changed it, I still haven't heard the full version, even if it's available.

General Comment:Can some1 please find somewhere I can listen to this without having iTunes, I must hear this. I'm glad they changed the Chorus, but the "Keep crashing this car" part I didn't really like too much from the demo. It seemed too similar to lyrics, cadence to some of their other songs. This was a good demo tho, all the demos are teh rawk
