Lyrics for Haunted (Fallen version) as interpreted by gothchick27

Haunted (Fallen version) Lyrics
Long lost words whisper slowly to me
Still can't find what keeps me here
When all this time I've been so hollow inside
I know you're still there

Watching me wanting me
I can feel you pull me down
Fearing you loving you
I won't let you pull me down

Hunting you I can smell you - alive
Your heart pounding in my head

Watching me wanting me
I can feel you pull me down
Saving me raping me
Watching me

ahh, feel you pull me down
ahh, I won't let you pull me down

Yay for correct lyrics =]. Too difficult to move from one thread to another though. That's nearly 3 years of replies in the other thread.

It's creepy, it's got great lyrics, Amy's amazing vocals, powerful guitars - what more could you want?? This song kicks ass.

I think it talks about someone who thought another peron was dead. But they're not. They keep stalking her(Maybe because they were(not) involved?) and she knows they are there but can't do anything about it.

Or some girl dumps a boyfriend but he won't leave her alone.

I remember reading in an interview with someone from Evanescnece (don't remember who), and I belive the story is about a little girl in a white easter dress who is playing with a red ball, which bounces into a deserted house. She chases after the ball and all possible exits out of the house close. 10 years later, she wakes up to eat the small bit of food the spirit keeping her there leaves for her everyday. Most of the song is about her quest to find the spirit that is keeping her here(which she has only seen glimpes of) and about how it's 'raping her mind' and whatnot.

jpj rocks, Well, then dont post if you dont like it. You're the one missing out.

This is a great, although creepy song. I prefer a different interpretation than the girl/deserted house thing:

"Long lost words whisper slowly to me
Still can't find what keeps me here"

An important conversation, perhaps? She doesn't understand why she dwells on it over and over.

"When all this time I've been so hollow inside
I know you're still there"

Most of us have people we are uncomfortable with. Sometimes, those people stay in our memories much longer than they should.

The lyric "I won't let you pull me down" means the person is sabotaging her efforts to heal/live a normal life, whether on purpose or not. She is saying "I wont let you drag me down with you. "

"Watching me, wanting me
I can feel you pull me down
Saving me, raping me
Watching me"

This person wont leave her mind, and is constantly there. She feels it is seriously effecting her. She's so hollow, the idea of someone being there is on one level, "saving her" Or perhaps it was meant sarcastically? On another level, this person's constant prescence is killing/stealing of part of her.

Well, what do you think of my interpretation?

I never thought of not taking "raping" literally, but that's cool that you did.

Great song, one of their best. Amy Lee is amazing!
As for the interpretation, it could be about a person she remembers like TheGlass is 1/2full says, but I think it's more about fear and insecurity itself, and not letting it consume you or pull you down.

When I hear this song, I think of anorexia or a drug addiction.

(When all this time I've been so hollow inside
I know you're still there
Watching me wanting me
I can feel you pull me down
Fearing you loving you
I won't let you pull me down)

She's just gotten over it but she's scared of slipping back into it.

Although I'm not saying this is an actual experience Amy Lee or someone in the band had (please don't think I'm implying that), this is just how I interpret the song.

ALSO IT'S AMAZINGLY AWESOME. :3

i guess this song is about someone important to her that dies (a boyfriend maybe) and she can't go on in her life as she is always haunted by his memories and i think she kinda feels guilty for his dead although there was nothing she could do.

GREAT SONG . LUUUV IT
