i guess i'm first...

i love the way the voices go so perfectly with the music. it seems like a song that goes with one's mind when they are in a hotel running away or living abroad or not knowing what's next. idk, but it seems to me that the singer is unsure of things.

this song was supposed to be on feist's cd but they thought it was too different compared to the rest of her things so they kept it for the bss album.

i hear that when i listen to this song.
which makes more sense to me. i think he may be strung out from coke and wants to stop which "calm is a word that i dream about" fits in, but can't stop because when he does sleep he is dreaming about coke "5 is the number i dream about"

i may be totally wrong but thats what i got from it, and i feel like it goes more wth the rest of the song as well.

The song is obviously about tripping on mesculine.

"oh i love the lights that don't turn you to fears"
When you trip, lights either attract you...
Or scare the fuck out of you.

"oh i think you loved your life when you came down"
As long as you have a good trip...
You'll general spend majority of the time thinking about life...
And come down off it feeling you better understand yourself.

Isn't it "mescaline sun"? That's what I got from it. But not knowing exactly what the lyrics are definitely does not take away from this song. It's like some barely-heard whisper in a dark room, provocative and spooky and hard to place.

Five is a number that I dream about.

- A friend who's acquainted with BSS informed me the other day that this line has to do with the feelings the band underwent after their first release, Feel Good Lost, received only lukewarm reviews. The "five" that the speaker dreams about refers to five stars, the highest score a reviewer can give an album in that system of measurement.

In this sense, the whole song could be thought of as a lustful meditation on ambition, and failure. Kevin Drew has been known to be hard on himself over BSS, after all.

this song makes you mellow out like no other, so good. i love to listen to it when i'm like about to pass out, just calms you down. but it's definately a remix of one evening, you can hear the guitar at the end.

This is a great song. Shampoo Suicide will always be my favorite, but this song is just growing on me, I can't stop listening to it. I have absolutely no idea what this song about, and I don't really think it matters. I just wish I knew the words being whispered at the end!

I love this song. So much! It's my favorite song right now.
...but I always thought the first lyric was "Disappear like a coin in a well"... but all these others work too.
