First they ignore you,
Then laugh at you and hate you.
Then they flight you,
Then you win.

When the truth dies,
Very bad things happen.
They're being heartless,
Again.

I know, its gonna, there's gonna be violence
I've taken as much as I'm willing to take
Why do you think we should suffer in silence
When a hearth is broken there's nothing to break

You've been mixing,
With some very heavy faces.
They boys have done,
A bit of bird.

They don't kill their own,
and they all love their mothers.
But you're out of your depth son,
Have a word.

I know, its gonna, there's gonna be violence
I've taken as much as I'm willing to take
Why do you think we should suffer in silence
The heart broken there's nothing to break

All is wonderful in this life,
Dreaming of the sun she warms.
You should see me in the afterlife,
Picking up the songs of lures.

When you think we're lost, we're exploring.
What you think is work because I'm adoring.
You don't want the truth, truth is boring.
I've got this fever need to,
Leave the house,
Leave the car,
Leave the bad men where they are,
I'll leave a few shells in my gun,
And stop me starring at the sun.

I know, its gonna, there's be gonna violence
I've taken as much as I'm willing to take
Why do you think we should suffer in silence
My heart is broken there's nothing to break.

General Comment:This is whats its all about:

The music rhythm is very Islamic.

"First they ignor you, then laugh at you and hate you, then they fight you then you win"
This is refering to the abuse handed out to Muslim people, for example the term Pakis (Derogatory slang for Pakistan popuplation) living in England. Also Palestinian peoples in Israel. "Then you win" suicide bombers go to paradise with a thousand virgins.

"When the truth dies, very bad things happen" Your being heartless again.
The truth about why Muslims are being targeted (invaded) is of course OIL and not because they are all reckless fanatics wanting to be suicide bombers. Got to have a good reason to invade another country that will sit well with the general public.

Then listen to the rest and it all makes sense.

"You should see me in the after life" Being a suicide bomber is worth it!!!

Its all about the paranoia. Fear. Miss trust. What happens when there is no truth. On both sides.

General Comment:According to my gay friend this song is all about the oppression of gays.

Yes the first stanza is Ghandi's quote, but my friend says it's actual like a motto for gays now.

"I know i'ts coming there's going to be violence, I"ve taken as much as I'm willing to take"
Either referring to the gay guy who wants to fight against those who oppress him or the gay guy knowing he's going to get hurt but doesn't care.

"Why do you think we should suffer in silence?"
Why should we keep our sexuality a secret? Our love a secret?

"When a heart is broken there's nothing left to break"
If we choose to keep living a lie we won't have any hearts left to break/basically be unable to love.

General Comment:This song is about oppression. First there is the Ghandi reference, a resistor of Imperialism.

Then "When the truth dies very bad things happen
    They’re being heartless again
I know its gone and there’s going to be violence"

Propaganda of Mussolini, Hitler, Stalin hid the truth and now the UK and USA are doing it again. We're being lied to, and things are going to be tumultuous.

"I’ve taken as much as I’m willing to take
Why do you think we should suffer in silence?"

Keep watching FOX? Blindly support our political leaders? We can't afford to be passive any longer.

"doing a bit of bird" means spending time in jail, "but youre out of your depth son, have a word" means things are really going to get serious now. Getting in trouble with police is one thing, living in a police state is another.

I don't know how to interpret the next verse literally, but the lyric is "you should see me in the afterlife, picking up the sons of dust." A remark about fragility of human life.

    Keeping that in mind:

"When you think we’re lost we’re exploring
What you think is what you’re soon adoring
You don’t want the truth the truth is boring
I’ve got this fever, need to
    Leave the house
    Leave the car
Leave the bad men where they are"

The conventional value system is mistaken, we must escape society because it has gone mad. Go live in the woods, rather than be involved in the struggle.

"keep a few shells in my gun and stop me staring at the sun" He's on his own, no more dreaming of 'how things should be,' it's about survival now.

General Comment:Robbie is one of the worlds most overrated artists. "His" songs change style when he switches songwriter. That proves who has the real talent.

General Comment:markjohnson880, the backing singers sing:

    "want you to love me
    want you to be
    the heavens above me
    eternally"

I really like this song, it's got so much in it. I love those backing lyrics and the harmony mixed with the sort of ska feel. The rap in the middle and the strings sound great too. I think it's a very interesting and quirky sort of song and I love the fact that he quotes Ghandi, why shouldn't he? The song sounds like it could be describing many things but to me it sounds like a someone advising someone else they know, maybe a friend or a relative, about not getting too involved with danger/the wrong crowd and then the other person's reaction ("when you think we're lost we're exploring" etc).

General Comment:Joene: Robbie covered "Freedom '90" from George Michael and not "Faith".

This song is nice and special, not one of my favourites at all. It tends to bring me down as well.

General Comment:I think this is Robbies best song (combined with the video it's even better). I think it's quite clearly about the experience of being bullied as a kid.
The lyrics are very sad: there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel. I think Robbie himself also got depressed by the song after having sung it live a couple of times. I know he now ends performances of the song by singing the line 'everything is gonna be alright'.
