The crimes I've committed aren't heard by any judge
And there are only two in this courtroom
And I must confess
What's done is done
And I'm the type that can't be conned
Into being convinced
And we both know this
I should be ashamed of this
I'm not
Cause I have tasted grapes
This smile, don't look
It's my bait, the words, the hook (x2)
These acts of immorality
Are the only things keeping me quiet
Can't you just accept the fact that
I'm only loyal as my options
I can't believe that you would ever trust me
I should be ashamed of this
I'm not
Cause I have tasted grapes
This smile, don't look
It's my bait, the words, the hook (x2)
You could call me a rolling stone
Cause I'm always on the road
Every night I wonder if you're there alone (x2)
I should be ashamed of this
I'm not
Cause I have tasted grapes
This smile, don't look
It's my bait, the words, the hook (x2)
And there are only two in this courtroom
And I must confess
What's done is done
And I'm the type that can't be conned
Into being convinced
And we both know this
I should be ashamed of this

****Danny.
I got distracted when I saw the other girl call him Ronny and for some reason I typed it too. Gah. I hate myself. I meant Danny though!
"It's my bait, MY words, the hook."
Seriously, that was bugging me so bad.
Haha. Awesome song though, I'm seeing them in two days, woo. :]
&Like everyone else, I loooove the high note Ronny hits on the last "it's my bait, my words, the hook." Just amazing.
i think its about a guy that did something bad to a girl [like cheating on her?] but he doesn't have any regrets about it.
You could call me a rolling stone
Cause I'm always on the road
Every night I wonder if you're there alone
but at the same time he wants her to be loyal to him.
ok so this song is obv about 2 people who are in a serious relationship and they guy is unfaithful. He knows what he's done is unnacceptable and immoral, thats why he says "The crimes I've committed aren't heard by any judge
And there are only two in this courtroom"....the song uses their relationship as a metaphorical "trial" and they are both judges and both agree that its wrong but know hes gonna cheat anyway. thus the next line in the song:
"What's done is done and I'm not the type that can't be conned into being convinced.
We both know this." which also is saying he's not going to be sweet talked(conned) into being monogomous.
"I should be ashamed of this, I'm not,
'Cause I have tasted grapes." I interpret this as the fact that grapes can be sweet sometimes and sour at other times. this is the most controversial line of the song bc it can be interpretted in so many diff ways.I think hes saying he knows its wrong (sour taste) but its so sweet (that hot lovin' (lol)) that hes gonna continue.
"This smile, don't look.
It's my bait, my words, the hook."- i love this line. the whole song he's telling the girl im gonna cheat i know its wrong but i like it and im not gonna stop and the song is worded in a charming way that makes it sounds attractive but we certainly wouldnt want to hear our own sig. other say these words. he warns the girl that hes going to charm her and shes gonna fall for him bc of his smile and smooth talking.
These acts of immorality are the only things keeping me quiet (His affairs keep him happy-he would make things bad for her if he couldnt have his affair)
Why can't you just accept the fact that I'm only as loyal as my options? (he'll keep her until something better comes along)
I can't believe that you would ever trust me.(self explanitory)
You could call me a rolling stone
'cause I'm always on the road
Every night I wonder if you're there alone.
a rolling stone is always on the road (touring)hes unfaithful to her and hes so blatant about him and hes admitting, at the end of the song, that his unfaithfulness makes him suspicious about whether she is indeed having an affair as well.
