Lyrics for Savin' Me as interpreted by Likwuid_Ice

Savin' Me Lyrics
Prison gates won’t open up for me
On these hands and knees I’m crawlin’
Oh, I reach for you
Well I’m terrified of these four walls
These iron bars can’t hold my soul in
All I need is you
Come please I’m callin’
And oh I scream for you
Hurry I’m fallin’

Show me what it’s like
To be the last one standing
And teach me wrong from right
And I’ll show you what I can be
Say it for me
Say it to me
And I’ll leave this life behind me
Say it if it’s worth saving me

Heaven’s gates won’t open up for me
With these broken wings I’m fallin’
And all I see is you
These city walls ain’t got no love for me
I’m on the ledge of the eighteenth story
And oh I scream for you
Come please I’m callin’
And all I need from you
Hurry I’m fallin’

Show me what it’s like
To be the last one standing
And teach me wrong from right
And I’ll show you what I can be
Say it for me
Say it to me
And I’ll leave this life behind me
Say it if it’s worth saving me

Hurry I’m fallin’

this is about commiting suicide because someone you love won't come back to you, and he won't jump (I’m on the ledge of the eighteenth story) if she comes back to him, i think, i'm only a kid, but that's what i've gathered from listening to it alot, lol, but yes, i think that's right

Well from what i can tell i think its about a guy who is in love with someone but she doesn't love him ... or sumthing to do with it being one sided.

The lines
"And I’ll show you what I can be" Means he wants to show her what he can be as a boyfriend

"Say it for me
Say it to me"

He wants her to tell him she loves him. And he won't jump if she says it and gives him a chance ... It could be about second chances too

Pretty much the same as everyone else, sounds like the guy is in love with her, and he's weak without her, but if she says yes to him (Say it for me, say it to me) then he'll be strong (Show me what it’s like, to be the last one standing). He wants to commit suicide (I'm on the ledge of the eighteenth storey) but he won't if she comes to him (Oh, I scream for you, come please, I'm callin'). Also I think he might be saying he needs her to be happy (and calm?) - (Well I’m terrified of these four walls, these iron bars can’t hold my soul in, all I need is you)

God, I love this song... The new album is a lot better than I was expecting... Anyway, I had basicly no idea what this song was about - denied love was the only idea that sprang to mind. I never thought any more about it after guessing that. Thanks you guys, you've really opened the track out for me.

I think this song is about threatened suicide. As if he is using the possiblity of suicide to lure his chick back. Definitely not a good message to be sending these days. Song definitely rocks though.

This song is so awesome, its one of the best songs off the album. I think this song is about someone thats in prison and all he's thinkin' about is his girlfriend that he left behind. The suicide theory might be what it really means, but thats what i got from it. Or it might be a little bit of both theories. Who cares either way. Its a really good song no matter what

i dont think so much of the prison, because "prison gates" is a metephor for im stuck, or somehting of the sort, and imc rawling as in hes desperate. the suicide sounds the best, a love/suicide song. i love this song, fist one i heard off the album.

i'm not too much on religion but I think this might have a lot to do with god...., or a parent, or girlfriend, or even a friend.

I think it's about someone going down the wrong path in life and can't bring himself out of it alone. i.e. I've done this so I might go to prison, or hell (Heaven’s gates won’t open up for me, With these broken wings I’m fallin’). suicied might be the way out... or

I think he/she wants to be loved or at least feel that he is loved. And does things hoping someone will help.

this song hits hard.

love it.

out.

I agree more along the lines with swampassl. I think this song is more about someone wanting to physically turn their life around for some reason or another (religious reasons or drugs spring to mind for this). They're calling for someone to reach out and help them, because they're in too deep ("I’m on the ledge of the eighteenth story
And oh I scream for you").

They want to be helped and encouraged. This person needs someone there with them to help them through because they feel trapped and alone ("Well I’m terrified of these four walls
These iron bars can’t hold my soul in"
and
"Heaven’s gates won’t open up for me
With these broken wings I’m fallin")

but they know they can change, and that they will overcome the obstacle(s) in their way ("And teach me wrong from right
And I’ll show you what I can be
And I’ll leave this life behind me
Say it if it’s worth saving me")

Overall, he just wants out of a bad situation and needs help doing so, but he wants to be helped by someone who truly thinks he deserves saving. A pretty inspirational song, if I do say so myself.

in the song the guy is trapt and all over-come in is own emotions because he's in love with a girl and he feels he's nothing without her..so he's hoping she'll come back before it's to late and his anxiety drives him over the edge and he ends up giving up!

...at least that's what i got out of it...

I agree with some of the above people about there being a deeper meaning to this song than just talking about a girl. I think its a religious song.

Prison gates won’t open up for me
On these hands and knees I’m crawlin’
Oh, I reach for you
Well I’m terrified of these four walls
These iron bars can’t hold my soul in
All I need is you
Come please I’m callin’
And oh I scream for you
Hurry I’m fallin’

This part is metaphoric for his life in this world. Hes calling out for God. He's thinking about taking his own life.

Show me what it’s like
To be the last one standing

This part is asking God to make him feel like his life matters out of everyone in the world.

And teach me wrong from right
And I’ll show you what I can be

He's asking God to teach him what to do, and he'll do his very best.

Say it for me
Say it to me
And I’ll leave this life behind me
Say it if it’s worth saving me

"it" here means that his life is important, it matters, and that there is a purpose for him. "and i'll leave this life behind me" means that he's ready to know that there is a better life than this one.

Heaven’s gates won’t open up for me
With these broken wings I’m fallin’

This part means that he feels like his life has led him very far away from God. Heaven's gates won't open, and he has broken wings, unlike an angel.

And all I see is you
These city walls ain’t got no love for me
I’m on the ledge of the eighteenth story

"you" is referring to God. "these city walls aint got no love for me" means that he feels hopeless in this world, and that he's thinking of taking his own life.

At least that's what I get out of it. I'm really curious as to what the meaning really is.

i totally agree with coronae, especially as someone who's struggling with addiction... this song is straight up what happened with my boyfriend and i. so, along with my interpretation, i'm going to include personal information.

"Prison gates won’t open up for me / On these hands and knees I’m crawlin’/ Oh, I reach for you / Well I’m terrified of these four walls / These iron bars can’t hold my soul in / All I need is you"

the person has realized they're addicted, and he feel like he's trapped in a prison and he desperately want to get out, but he can't break free. addiction is debilitating, and soon you're on your hands and knees trying to crawl away.
the "i reach for you" and "all i need is you" is the addict reaching out for the person they feel will help drag them out of this.

"Come please I’m callin’ / And oh I scream for you / Hurry I’m fallin’"

he knows he's sinking deeper, and is desperately calling out to the person to rescue him because he can't do it alone. and he wants the person to hurry before he falls further.

"Show me what it’s like / To be the last one standing"

they know people who've followed the same path and not gotten out, and he feels like he's standing alone... he wants the person to remind him how dangerous the addiction can be.

"And teach me wrong from right / And I’ll how you what I can be"

self-explanatory... the person can show him what's "wrong" and what's "right", and how to cope with stress without turning to the aforementioned addiction. he knows he can be better once the addiction doesn't rule his life.

"Say it for me / Say it to me / And I’ll leave this life behind me / Say it if it’s worth saving me"

this is what really convinced me this was about addiction, because this happened with my boyfriend and i -- i was falling too deep into my addiction and he was scared to lose me to it completely, but at the same time, was scared if he told me i was addicted, i'd turn away from him -- and the singer is saying "look, if it's worth saving me, then tell me i have a problem!" often, a person doesn't realize they have a problem until someone speaks up, and they know they can walk away from "that life".

"Heaven’s gates won’t open up for me / With these broken wings I’m fallin’ / And all I see is you / These city walls ain’t got no love for me / I’m on the ledge of the eighteenth story / And oh I scream for you"

same ideas as the first verse... the person didn't respond quickly, and he's admitting he's falling even further and really needs help. the city walls statement is how he feels alienated from society because he's reached the point when his whole life is concerned with his next high, and people can't accept the addiction.
"on the ledge of the 18th story" is a metaphor for the fact that he knows he's about to fall too far in for help and he also knows it'll inevitably lead to his death.

then the chorus again. anywya, you see where i'm going. =)

I can't say I agree with the suicide thing. Last few lines of the chorus:

Say it to me
And I’ll leave this life behind me
Say it if it’s worth saving me

He may feel he is trapped in the life he has (prison/heaven's gates wont open up for me) and that he needs her to help get away from it, but doesn't know if she even cares.

As for the rest, hell yeah. Probably the song I listen to the loudest right now. I love the video too.
