Lyrics for Dark Light as interpreted by xOx Razorblade Kiss

Dark Light Lyrics
Shivers run through the spine
Of hope as she cries
The poisoned tears of a life denied
In the raven black night
Holding hands with...

Dark light
Come shine in her lost heart tonight
And blind
All fears that haunt her with
Your smile
Dark light

In oblivion's garden
Her body's on fire
Writhing towards the angel defiled
To learn how to die
In peace with her God

Dark light
Come shine in her lost heart tonight
And blind
All fears that haunt her with
Your smile
Dark light

Dark light
Come shine in her lost heart tonight
And blind
All fears that haunt her with
Your smile

Dark light
Come shine in her lost heart tonight
And blind
All fears that haunt her with
Your smile
Dark light

I like this song, it's a nice, dark, fairly typical HIM song thanks to Ville Valo's spectacular ability to write a song so wonderfully.
I believe each HIM album just keeps getting better and better with each release, and this is no exception.
I wish HIM would come to Australia so badly, however, just so I could listen to Ville sing Heartache Every Moment live (my fave HIM song).
I heart HIM.

this is a song about a young girl who is cast from society, and her ability to cope with it. she wants to feel love from something IE: parents rejecting her for who she is, or society for that matter
she recedes into a "dark light" for it tells her to remain who she is, and washes away her fears of a world so cold to her. and to be strong, for it will make her a better person

That is the absolute worst intro HIM or any band have ever performed. More crap lyrics.

I actually liked this song a lot. But then I saw what Ville Valo looked like, and now I can't take any of his music seriously. Some of H.I.M.'s songs are really deep, but I just can't get over the way they look!

i agree with surfryder about the meaning of this song. i also think it could be a negative thing that she turns to, hence the "dark" but it is also a "light" because for her it is a positive thing as she is able to be herself and be free from her troubles.
..that might not make sense.. but i know what im trying to explain =P

and tapsatdawn ..shuldnt u enjoy music becuz it simply is good music.. not becuz of wat the singer looks like? you say you liked it.. but once you saw ville vallo you cant take it seriously? thats rather sad.. you dont have to like what he or HIM as a whole look like.. but it shouldnt alter your thoughts on the music.

Well actually, I think that this song is about the guy, he loves this girl but she refuses him, so everytime she is in pain, it gives him hope of her breaking down and accepting him. But this is deffinately the worst song HIM has come out with, deffinately not one of the best!

If you view the series Twin Peaks, you'll hear the melody from the chorus of Dark Light in the background.

KISS also released a song of the same title years before this.

Actually, Ville said in an interview that this song is about a little girl who has the plague, and as she is in the hospital dying and watching people die from the plague all around her, she must come to copes with life's isolation, an indifferent and illogical universe, and reach some kind of peace with her god.

This song is awful, it sounds like something by Bryan Adams. And about the lyrics, I don't think they actually mean anything in particular, they're just a recopilation of HIM commonplace metaphors for anything. Every verse in it sounds plain old and unoriginal. It makes me think of a collage made with lyrics from their older songs.
And this is NOT trolling, as a fan from year 2000 that is stil supporting them I have the right to voice my negative opinion just as I have always voiced my positive ones.

I love HIM.
But this album was their worst.
A fast attempt to release their North American breakthrough.
They should ditch that fag Bam.
he screwed them up good.
I hope their new record seriously makes up for this unfinished album.

i agree with bobcat. Dark Light pales in comparison to love metal and razorblade. Any real HIM fan knows this. There are some decent songs on dark light, but all the other HIM albums i can listen to from start to finish. Not This One. NO SIR

I think it's about a girl whom is all alone in the word no hopes, dreams and just miserable and he's asking for someone to give her hope to tell her that everything will be alright you know show her some support some love and tell her everything will be all right for her and to teach her to let go of fear with a smile =)

This song is based on the book The Dark Light. The book is about a girl who has leprosy and is then sent away to a hospital and kept away from society. This is what Ville said anyway. I looked it up and the book does exist. So there you go.

When it was discovered that thirteen-year-old Tora has leprosy, she is sent from her family's remote mountain farm to the leprosy hospital in the bustling port of Bergen. In early-nineteenth-century Norway, lepers are quarantined in this hospital and no longer considered among the living. But even as her body gradually fails her, Tora's new life blossoms. She finds strength through helping her fellow patients, both young and old, and she decides to see for herself what the Bible says about leprosy. To do so, she must make friends with the young and angry Mistress Dybendal, the only person at the hospital who can teach her to read.

That's the description of the boook, it fits, she's an outcast, she's told her God has abandoned her, she's hidden away and she's dying.

bobcat, Bam had nothing to do with the recording or writing of this album, if it 'sucks' is Ville's fault, he was in charge of every thing, he even conducted the drum, guitar and keyboard as well as writing all the songs. So if it isn't good it's no one's fault but the man in charge.

I heard that dark light had something to do with Ville Valo's name. Is it?
