Shivers run through the spine
Of hope as she cries
The poisoned tears of a life denied
In the raven-black night
Holding hands with

Dark light
Come shine in her lost heart tonight
And blind
All fears that haunt her with your smile
Dark light

In oblivion's garden
Her body's on fire
Writhing towards the angel defiled
To learn how to die
In peace with her God

Dark light
Come shine in her lost heart tonight
And blind
All fears that haunt her with your smile
Dark light

General Comment:I love HIM too. But I don't lie Bam either. That's the ONLY thing I don't like about them is their association with him. Other than that, they're untouchable legends in my eyes & are well on their way to being even better.

General Comment:"to learn how to die"

when i was younger, i used to sing those words. but instead of saying

    In oblivion's garden
    Her body's on fire
    Writhing towards the angel defiled
    To learn how to die
    In peace with her God

    it was:

    In .... garden
    Their bodies on fire.
    Arriving/writing towards those defiled.
To learn how to/to finally die.
    So peace will be mine.

It was sang that way because it was a way for me to lash out at people I did not like for verious reasons, most of all, mean.

General Comment:I heard that dark light had something to do with Ville Valo's name. Is it?

General Comment:bobcat, Bam had nothing to do with the recording or writing of this album, if it 'sucks' is Ville's fault, he was in charge of every thing, he even conducted the drum, guitar and keyboard as well as writing all the songs. So if it isn't good it's no one's fault but the man in charge.

General Comment:When it was discovered that thirteen-year-old Tora has leprosy, she is sent from her family's remote mountain farm to the leprosy hospital in the bustling port of Bergen. In early-nineteenth-century Norway, lepers are quarantined in this hospital and no longer considered among the living. But even as her body gradually fails her, Tora's new life blossoms. She finds strength through helping her fellow patients, both young and old, and she decides to see for herself what the Bible says about leprosy. To do so, she must make friends with the young and angry Mistress Dybendal, the only person at the hospital who can teach her to read.

That's the description of the boook, it fits, she's an outcast, she's told her God has abandoned her, she's hidden away and she's dying.

General Comment:This song is based on the book The Dark Light. The book is about a girl who has leprosy and is then sent away to a hospital and kept away from society. This is what Ville said anyway. I looked it up and the book does exist. So there you go.

General Comment:I think it's about a girl whom is all alone in the word no hopes, dreams and just miserable and he's asking for someone to give her hope to tell her that everything will be alright you know show her some support some love and tell her everything will be all right for her and to teach her to let go of fear with a smile =)
