  General Comment:I think of a soldier coming back home to his sweetie after a long war every time I listen to this song. That being said, I guess he fought a long and hard battle of his own and he's all recovered now and coming back to her, but their once good relationship has faded and now there's "nothing pretty left to say" because those days are in the past.

  General Comment:Personally I see this song being about not being able to see his girl for a long time, perhaps a long distance relationship. The lines "Remember me, she said smiling. Write my name somewhere safe" communicate to me as "dont forget me, even though we wont be seeing each other for a long time." Also, the line "touch and taste fades with space" sounds like he saying after a while of not being with her it becomes harder to recall those memories of what it was like. I basically see it as Jim saying he misses someone far away

  General Comment:wow this song is ace.and yeah they "can be a little mushy sometimes" .. i love them for it, getting away with the cheesiest lyrics sometime! eg. on the new album on "carry you"; "could going through the motions lead to real emotion?"

  General Comment:can't you see? this song is definetly about his girlfriend not wanting to be with him anymore "i'll never be the one you dream" and yes it must be a long distance relationship. but at the end there uis a dead give away. he's trying to be what she wants but it's not working out, JUST GOT OWED BY A 14 YEAR OLD!! >;)

    I disagree, it dosent say anything anywhere about a girlfriend not wanting him anymore. It does hint at a long distance relationship though (Gonna drive fast all night... Fades with space). I think its basically not about something that happened like a breakup but about a situation like said long distance relationship.

  General Comment:I agree with what Andaah (I know it's not a meaning but an awesome point). Very few bands that I've listned to and loved for years can still send shivers down my spine, lift me up and generaly touch me like Jimmy Eat World. My all time favourite band.

  This may be my favorite JEW song, although 'Kill' and "23" are up there. It seems that the band is progressing towards something that I think we'll see on the next album... it HAS to be incredible.
