  General Comment:LOL...a song about a man who thinks he's "lookin after" (and doing a favor) to someone from behind a computer screen. I guess she's charity. No thank you, kind sir, she says. She can and will get her own companion.

  General Comment:I think one of the lines in the lyrics is wrong. Instead of "as I'm leaving the one I want to take", isn't it "as I'm leaving the world I want to take", ie, take her with him or be with her, in her world/life?

  General Comment:"So few come and don't go. Will you, won't you be the one I'll always know?" is just such a beautiful line that I can easily relate to. Love this song!

  My Interpretation:My personal interpritation of this is sort ov the story ov my personal life
  In verse one when i heard this song it spoke to me because well i had a love like that,a love that was so strong but so against my personal ife style that it almost tore me apart,so i couldnt admit it untill it was on the any future with her was on a line and i had to put my feeling out there even if i risked rejection because i couldnt risk not knowing
  
  The second verse was kind of me explaining to her why i loved her so much.wen i looked at her i could see her as the obne that wouldnt go,through my crazy life style she grounded me only she could stop the spinning of a life completly fudged up.
  
  and i wished i had time to finish this but i g2g so later foolz

  Song Meaning:I don't think there is any staple to what this song means unless it comes from the mouth of the person who wrote it. Many times we hear lyrics and we relate them to our lives, the struggles we face, or the moments when we experience some greater meaning and can't seem to find out how to put it into words. This individual only writes from his heart, his personal experiences. Understanding lyrics is such a personal adventure and often times we want to sculpt the song into what it means to us. This is why music like this serves such a powerful purpose. For a moment we feel understood. We feel as if the song resonates something inside ourselves. As humans, we are all innately different, yet we share so much. What I am trying to say is that this song has a different meaning to everyone, provided our different experiences, and there is no way to know where he is coming from unless he speaks freely of what it truly means. All we can do is express what it means to us and hope that someone somewhere out there might get the same feeling from it. People that relate to The Frays music...well, we are all soul searchers and it is always nice to make a connection with ones of the same nature.

  General Comment:I love this song... it gets to me everytime. But I always thought the lyrics were
  "There now, steady love, so few come have and gone, girl." :S
  
  That 'part' kinda made me fall in love with the song.

  General Comment:I met this guy and fell hard. I had some self issues to work on which stoped a realtionship from forming.. He met somebody else and i was heart broken.. i didnt realize i was even in love until he was gone. He sent me this song and told me the flaws i needed to improve on to be a happier better person for myself. I was ready to finaly let it go and focus on me. For us this song ment he would stay by my side and look after me and help me become a happier person for myself. He wanted to be with me but couldnt yet. The first time I heard "If I don't say this now I will surely break As I'm leaving the one I want to take
  Forgive the urgency but hurry up and wait My heart has started to separate" I instantly cried..
  
  Were now together in a realtionship for 5 months, and im expecting our child in oct.. This song still makes me cry inside. But he did look after me..

  Its in everyway the perfect love song and I hope to someday dance with the one I love at my wedding to this song. The bit that gets me is 'Its always have and never hold. You've begun to feel like home.' those are my favourite lyrics ever.

  General Comment:I love this song so much. Personally, it's one of my favorite songs by The Fray. But anyway, to me this song is basically saying that a person is in love with someone who he wants, but he doesn't have them yet. He asks the person out, and they have him waiting on an answer. There's a possibility that there's another person in the picture. The person being asked out may have to cjoose out of the one they're already with or the one who asks them out. However I'm relating to a semi-personal story so this interpretation is only fro my point of view and is only an opinion of the true meaning, not a fact.
