i kinda think that this song is about a couple who are working out where they stand with each other. they may not love each other, "everything short of i love you", but they may still have strong feelings for each other, and that its not necessarily wrong tht they don't love each other, they care and so it can't be wrong. i duno, thts what i think.

Looking at it from the situation I'm in, it sounds more like he's trying to figure out things in his mind. Something happened between them. They didn't work out the way he expected, or the way he hoped, but he's trying to accept it and believe that maybe that's how things were supposed to turn out.

I love singing all of the songs on this cd, but this is probably one of my favorites. I like singing the falsetto in the bridge (did I spell that right?) and none of other notes go up above my range, so I'm happy.

I agree with Shezza, but I think they really do love each other. Sometimes it's easy to get prideful when things are falling apart. Maybe they are just going through some changes and they're puttin' it on the back burner..

To me, I feel this song is not about an official couple, but more about two friends who have gone through life longing for each other but never willing to breach the line of just being friends. He's thinking in his mind about how much they've been through but never have gone all the way. Basically they will never be all or nothing but always stuck somewhere in between at that torments him...just my guess.

I think Im here right with my gf now so this makes it kinda hard but I think i get what the song is about here it goes times gone by fast and the relationship may be ending as they've come to a problem they are at different places and have unsure and unequal feeling and they dont know where to go from there as they hope what they have is strong enough to keep them going come to think of it i really dont know either thts life thts all

I feel like this song is about a couple that is being forced to come to terms with their relationship after something has happened. I think she cheated, he took her back but is still struggling to see her in the same way he did before. He wants to be with her but can he forget what she did? They've dealt with it but he's still hurting, so much so that he doesn't know if he can still love her. She's waiting for him, he's waiting to feel like it's right, he's not completely unsure, but he's not happy. Maybe?

i think this song is actually about a guy who loves a girl, but she doesn't know that - maybe she does, but he doesnt know she does. maybe shes taken, maybe shes not, but something is keeping them from being together. even so, they are so close that its almost like they are, but there's always something there that makes it unsure, and it cant be settled.

this song is so amazing!! I think that this song is a talking about the berlin wall and how this country was split in two.. but now they are ok and everyone can be with each other and be happy...

i think that they are trying to say that this country can be split and yet they can recover from it and they can be one again.. that if a country can go through that then certainly they (him and the love of his life) can do so aswell.. this song is beautiful if you really think about it!! love this song!!!! I feel this song is about a start of a "love" relationship. Two people has gotten to know each other as friends and has been dating and talked about everything there is to talk about. But they are both unsure if they should take that step towards saying that they love each other.

I agree with drachmaserus. it is a beginning of relationship. they just found themselves in this possibility of being with each other without even trying. And it's just saying that maybe they're not quite ready, but it's okay being in that unknown, being unsure, being not quite 100% of everything.

I think that this song is about Him wanting to be with her, and tell her that he's in love with her (Everything short of I love you), even though they may be two complete diffrent people (east and west), and them having a relationship may not seem like a good Idea because they are so diffrent ( And who's to say that it's wrong....not right)

I also think that he's afraid to tell her that he loves her ,unsure and a hundred- can mean like he's at a toss up between telling her 100% or not and leaving things where they stand. Gret song, brill band, gotta love them

To me this song is about a girl and guy who have a really strong sexual relationship, but they arent official. The "everything short of i love you" part is what did it for me. One of them started to fall for the other one and they are unsure of what to do with the relationship. She doesnt know if its right or wrong if she continues on with him the way they are. I can relate to it.

to me this song is about 2 people in love,i agree that its the starting of a relationship & other people are saying its not going to work , but who the hell are they to say that? but something is making him or her,or both of htem unsure about it & not 100% sure.
I'm choreographing a duet to this song,because i love it so much.& i wanted peoples advice on it, its ok if you don't have dance experience & all htat but i was just wondering i was going to have the two people in the duet reaching for each others hands & almost touching but not because they can't reach each other.Does that seem to fit the song?

i reckon its about the start of a relasionship too! they are just starting out and people are against and thats making them unsure but they know its going to be ok and want too keep going

insomniac328, thank you for that interpretation. I do believe it could relate to a guy/girl thing, but right now it applies to my roommates and I, as we are all graduating from College in May, and going off in completely different directions. And we are uncertain when we will see each other next. and hearing these chords, they just bring out the deepest feelings. feelings that you didnt know you had, and hearing that chord will bring it to the surface...and all you can do is cry. cry because you're thankful for where you are. cry because of who you've met along the way. and cry because you dont know what will happen next when you leave your brothers...
