    My Interpretation:I feel like this is about a long distance couple. The girl used to live there and then she moved, but she comes back sometimes maybe for vacation or coming home from college. Since they are not in the same area they have to live there own lives. They need to figure out there relationship. He doesn't want to leave her just because she is far away. Being away from her is going to hurt. He feels like this is only going to make their relationship stronger. He knows she is the one. She is everything he wants and needs. He is going to make things work someday he will actually get to be with her. He is going to put all he can into the relationship. All he wants is to be by her side.

    My fiance dedicated this song to me. Back in high school him and I were really good friends. I wanted to be more than friends, but he wasn't ready. He moved to California. He moved out there for a year and he got in touch with me. Him and I talked for a while. We dated for a while and now we are engaged. Since I am across the country he comes back once every year for two weeks. I go out there for two weeks every summer.

    General Comment:I like the band. I like the sound of this song. But, PLEASE, the lyrics are foolish. Do y'all live on some soap opera set? In real life people who love each other remain together. It's like saying let's have a threesome or an open marraige and it will make our marraige stronger:) LOL. In real life this song would be about a guy who wants his cake and to eat it too. He is scared to death of committment (THAT'S the REAL ISSUE) and he doesn't wish to close the door on the possibility of someone better (better looking if he's shallow) behind door #2...or #3 or how man doors his whorish personality seeks. Distance does NOT make the heart grow stronger. Distance makes people doubt their love and often begin to look for somoene who will committ and who isn't a loser. For gawd's sake, the song is good but your interpretations are staight out of a cheap paperback romance novel!

    My Interpretation:absense making the heart grow fonder towards someone--that person not being around you for awhile, or possibly taking a break with a relationship.

    realizing that you never knew how much you needed that person and how much you do love them.

    General Comment:They’re not together, instead they are still on their own… but its best for the relationship and them as individuals in order ‘To find a place to stand instead of walking away and instead of nowhere to land’. At this point though its up in the air, but they’ve realized it definitely can work, and that their lives will eventually start falling into place how they’ve dreamed and what they’ve worked for, and when they do, they want each other around.
    ‘We go from if to when’. I think it means that there being together starts not to be conditional but something that will happen no matter what. Both his side and her side are behind this indication, this huge sign that neither one can deny means they should be together. But despite this, they know they should anyway because of their feelings for each other.

    I just want to hold you close to me.’

    It will bring them to their knees because they will just be thankful that it all worked out how they envisioned, but they can’t be together yet so all they can do is just want from a distance to hold each other close.

    General Comment:I think that maybe the song is about two people in a relationship that started out casual, but the guy realized that eventhough this isn't his usual type of girl, she turns out to be exactly what he's been looking for. Maybe it's a girl that's been in his life for a while in a friendly matter.

    Therefore he feels he needs some distance from her to gain perspective. "This is gonna break me clean in two" aka: it's gonna be really hard to break-up with her, but he knows he has to because the timing isn't right (and afterall, timing is of the essence).

    He knows it's gonna hurt being away from her, but he's thinking about the future for them and knows it will work-out when the timing is right.

    General Comment:I never really listened much to the lyrics of this until recently, apart from the 'She is everything I need that I never knew I wanted.

    To me, I can really relate to it at the moment. I've just gone to uni, and I'm having to be seperated from my boyfriend. I know the distance will make us stronger in the long run, but it's still incredibly painful right now. Especially with 'This is going to bring me clarity.
    This'll take the heart right out of me.'

    It's probably not the actual meaning of the songwriter, but it still fits extremely well

    General Comment:i kinda feel like this song is about a couple that seems to be on a break, for whatever reason, but maybe it's a long distance thing that's not working out well (for now, you're not here, and i'm not there, it's like we're on our own) and they're trying to figure out if they can get by without one another and the guy is realizing that despite everything, she is the one that he needs at the end of the day, despite the problems

    General Comment:this describes me and my boyfriend. we had a falling out but "this is going to bring me close to you" for the sake of the song. our break brought us closer although the time apart did break my heart.
