  Song Meaning:Please note that he says (at the end) "please believe me that the WORLD deceives me." Now....."don't stand me up just leave me" doesn't mean don't stand me up on a date or something lol ....it means don't try to lift me up, don't try to lift my spirit because "I have FALLEN again....pain redefined." However, it does involve a girl, of course. Long story short.....the girl is trying to change his religion. ....I know, I know.......but look...."can it be a conscious decision that I look for ways to alter my vision" He is asking himself can I change what I know and believe. No he can't, because "memories don't lie....you know better than those who have FALLEN." Then...in the part where he says "Can I find a way to make a SOLUTION (not a change) That will reconfigure my life?" He's trying to find a middle ground, a neutral zone, or whatever...but he wants a change without completely changing altogether. He can't change altogether.......because "memories don't lie" ...Plus, some people refer to they're car as a girl. In the Old Testament of Bible, God often refers to other gods as harlots (a harlot is a whore) So it might not even be a girl...it might be different religions messing with him "my eyes/ears/world deceive me" Now...."we have all been frightened by the sound of foot steps on the pavement of our lives" (That's your death coming, or when you think your dying....and yes, I know what ur thinking....i'm getting to that right now) ...He says "I stand and fight. I'm not afraid to die. (just cause once upon a time u were scared to die don't mean u'll die afraid....also remember that he said "WE have all been frightened..") And here's how you know for sure, without a doubt, it has Biblical references to it....Elochai(which is Hebrew for "My God") The only person that I know of that God buried Himself was Moses. (and yes it is the Christian God because Christians believe in the same God as the Hebrews and same as the Jews....same God. Only difference is Christians believe in Jesus and the Jewish faith don't (and I'm not saying ALL Jews....thats why I said Jewish faith)
  So, yeah, thats my take on it. But any true artist will knows that a song was wrote from something that inspired them,.....but when they present their art to the people, whatever they think it's about, however it speaks to them......THAT'S WHAT IT'S ABOUT!!!

  General Comment:I'm not understanding the references to love, I've never gotten any clues from any of disturbed's music that love was the subject of the song beyond the most obvious ones. Though, most music is subjective.
  
  Personally, I personified the image of the steel, chainclad man on the cover of the disturbed albums. He's a man of a troubled past, a destroyer, hoping to use his influence for something good. He's an indestructible scion of truth, justice, punishment.
  
  Failing, falling, lost in forever
  Will I find a way to keep it together?
  Am I strong enough to last through the weather in the hurricane of my life?
  
  Scion is losing his grip on his sanity, because of trauma he's suffered.
  
  Can it be a conscious decision?
  As I look for ways to alter my vision?
  Am I speeding towards another collision in the alleyways of my life?
  
  -He's afraid he is going to fall into the same pain and failure he suffered before.
  
  Memories don't lie
  You're no better than
  Those who have fallen
  
  -He wants to believe things will be different, but as it says, memories don't lie.
  
  And please believe me
  That my eyes deceive me
  
  -He wants to believe hes on the right path, but he knows he's headed down the same path that caused him pain before.

  I have fallen again
  This is the end
  Pain redefined
  
  -He knows that he is doom to repeat his past, and he bids someone who thinks they can help him to leave him alone.
  
  Shaking, burning up with the fever
  In the realm of pain, I am the deceiver
  
  -His pain and anger is threatening to overtake him, and he finds himself drowning more often than not.
  
  I will lie to myself, so I can believe her
  As she dissembles my life
  
  -Either the trauma he suffered was related to a love lost, or he's being manipulated and he knows it, hoping it will save him from himself. This is only one line, and its TOO VAGUE TO DEFINE THE SONG. I think this is the only part that could honestly cause this to be interpreted that way
  
  I cannot dispel the illusion
  All my hopes and dreams are drowned by confusion
  Can I find a way to make a solution that will reconfigure my life?
  
  - He is Distraught, and hopes to find something to pull him out of his life's painful road.
  
  And I know that stillness shatters
  We have all been frightened by the sound
  Of footsteps on the pavement of our lives
  
  -The thought of someone being close to him frightens him, likely considering the pain he's wrought before.
  
  I stand and fight
  I'm not afraid to die
  Elochai

  -He decides he honestly could give two flying turds and says "Okay destiny, gimme your best shot". (BTW Elochai is jewish for god, I believe.)
  
  Please believe me

  -In his defiance against the cycle of pain in his life, he actually causes the trauma or suffering to happen again to himself or the person he began to become close to.
  
  Again, music is subjective. Though, I find it rather impossible to attribute wholly or sensibly to a song about love.

  I also think that he refers to the drugs as "her":

  My Interpretation:This song seems about the way in which we discover, into any relationship, we have changed, and the fear it brings. And the ability to either see it or deny it. Elochai is a reference to false gods, and therefore is him begging even more for someone to lie to him.

  General Comment:Elokai (yes, Elokai. not Elochai.) translates into "my god", singular. not plural. he is talking about the lord and not about 'false gods' or w/e.
