So you're born on the cusp
Or it's a run of bad luck
But it's bigger than us
It's bigger than love

And it's underhanded
You never feel it
You never look back
You never look back
You never look back

You never look back

What's in the cart
A CD-R
You never look back
You never look back
And it's bigger than us
It's bigger than love
Oh it must be I know
'Cause it always wins
And it always wins
It always wins
It always wins
It always wins

General Comment:This song is great. However the lyrics posted here are not completely right. I have heard the almbum version, the demo version, and 2 HQ live versions. and I can almost certainly say that these corrections are right (fussy eh?):
5th line is "and its underhanded"
11th line is "those words in the car"
12th line is "the scene in the yard" ("we had a scene in the yard" on a particular live version)

Cheers Amanset for your music :-)

General Comment:Ya, so the fifth line is "and it's underhanded" and the "cd-r" part is "a scene of the art," and it's "Oh its a run of bad luck" and finally, "It must be unknown." The band has almost all of their lyrics on their website.

P.S. I have listened to the song a thousand times and I still get chills every time from the third "you never look back"

General Comment:..... Cusp ... between the zodiac signs and places where we call home.
If we can compare the groud as the sky, so we are definitely the stars.

General Comment:I partly agree with Deceitful.
In English History, there was a huge fashion for astrology a few centuries ago, and the term "Born on the Cusp" was used often to describe someone who was moody or depressive. It was kind of a joke about how the stars were used to explain everything, like illness and stuff like that.

If you think about it in that context, this song would be perfect to describe someone (his girlfriend) who suffered from depression.
Especially the "It's bigger than us, it's bigger than love" part, as you'll know if you've ever been manic depressive. As much as you want to make a relationship work, it's always going to be too hard, because depressed people are completely involved in their depression before anything else.

Also the line "Or it's a run of bad luck" ... you do try to find excuses when your life isn't going the way you planned, because you're too low to help yourself.

And the fifth and sixth lines explain how when you're depressed, you can't ever remember being happy. It just feels like you're in a black hole, and the only thing you can feel is what you're currently going through.

    Anyway ... just a theory.

General Comment:well. If any of you know anything about astrology. well anyways, i'm a big astrology freak. And if you are born on the cusp you are born within a few days of when the sun sign is changing to another sun sign. Like i am born on feb 16th which is aquarius, yet, it changes to pisces on feb 18th, i am a few days from being a pisces, which makes me born on the cusp of aquarius. If you are born on the cusp, i'm an aquarius yet i have pisces tendencies. So i believe when the artist is talking about this girl being born on the cusp, is perhaps she's moody, like she changes frequently....in other words she's kind of a mess.

General Comment:i think its about the experience after breaking up with your significant other. it comes from the viewpoint that love never works out for you, and you still have feelings for the person and try to not look back on it, but those feelings always do win over. the cd-r part relates well because half of my music is from my ex that gave it too me.

General Comment:i agree this song is amazing. it is in the vein of other classic AMANSET songs like Kindness of Strangers with that amazing fucking wacking thing (vibraphone I think)

i have a correction though, I'm pretty sure the first first begins:

    what's in the car?
    a CD-R

since this is a sort of romantic song, CD-R makes sense because it could be a mix CD or something that one lover made for the other.

General Comment:"Orates a run of bad luff"? Sounds more like "Or it's a run of bad luck" to me... and I believe the fifth line is "And it's underhanded."

    Great song.
