You're all that I have and you're all that I need
Each and every day I pray to get to know you please
I want to be close to you, yes I'm so hungry
You're like water for my soul when it gets thirsty
Without you there's no me
You're the air that I breathe
Sometimes the world is dark and I just can't see
With these, demons surround all around to bring me down to negativity
But I believe, yes I believe, I said I believe
I'll stand on my own two feet
Won't be brought down on one knee
Fight with all of my might and get these demons to flee
Hashem's rays fire blaze burn bright and I believe
Out of darkness comes light, twilight unto the heights
Crown Heights burnin' up all through till midnight
Said, thank you to my God, now I finally got it right
And I'll fight with all of my heart, and all a' my soul, and all a' my might

What's this feeling?
My love will rip a hole in the ceiling
Givin' myself to you from the essence of my being
Sing to my god all these songs of love and healing
Want Moshiach now so it's time we start revealing

What's this feeling?
My love will rip a hole in the ceiling
Givin' myself to you from the essence of my being
Sing to my God all these songs of love and healing
Want Moshiach now

Strip away the layers and reveal your soul
Got to give yourself up and then you become whole
You're a slave to yourself and you don't even know
You want to live the fast life but your brain moves slow
If you're trying to stay high then you're bound to stay low
You want God but you can't deflate your ego
If you're already there then there's nowhere to go
If you're cup's already full then its bound to overflow
If you're drowning in the water's and you can't stay afloat
Ask Hashem for mercy and he'll throw you a rope
You're looking for help from God you say he couldn't be found
Looking up to the sky and searchin' beneath the ground
Like a King without his Crown
Yes, you keep fallin' down
You really want to live but can't get rid of your frown
Tried to reach unto the heights and wound bound down on the ground
Given up your pride and the you heard a sound
Out of night comes day and out of day comes light
Nullified to the One like sunlight in a ray,
Makin' room for his love and a fire gone blaze
Makin' room for his love and a fire gone blaze

What's this feeling?
My love will rip a hole in the ceiling
Givin' myself to you from the essence of my being
Sing to my God all these songs of love and healing
Want Moshiach now so it's time we start revealing

What's this feeling?
My love will rip a hole in the ceiling
Givin' myself to you from the essence of my being
Sing to my God all these songs of love and healing
Want Moshiach now

And see, I lift up my eyes where my help come from
And I seen it circling around from the mountain
Thunder!
You feel it in your chest
You keep my mind at ease and my soul at rest
You're not vexed

When I look to the sky where my help come from
And I've seen it circling around from the mountain
Thunder!
You feel it in your chest
You keep my mind at ease and my soul at rest
You're not vexed

Look folks, I'm about as Atheist as they come, and I love both this song and the albums it is on ("Live at Stubb's" and "Shake Off the Dust... Arise"). Whether or not you agree with his message, this is some damn good reggae with beautiful, eloquent lyrics. Who cares what the guy looks like; It's the music that's important, right?

This song is just so awesome. It's about the power of trusting God in everyday life. also from a Jewish standpoint, it refers to the wait for a Messiah that will come, but correct me if I'm wrong, in that some believe that we can reveal the Messiah through our actions.

im in love with matisyahu. seriously, being agnostic, this guy could totally make me convert to judaism. his music is beautiful, his lyrics are beautiful, his religious enthusium is beautiful, HE is beautiful. i havent been this excited about an artist since carina round.

mrfroteo- im seeing him march 15 too! i cant hardly contain my excitement. though no one at school is jealous of me. they all think im weird for listening to "that reggae jew" grrrrr.

I don't care what he believes in, it's good music. Shouldn't that be enough?

I heard this back in the summer, as it tis NOV now3, the live version (live at stubb's) is faster and better, but this guiy is REALY AMAZING. We have hisidic jews in Lakw Wood NJ and I know they are spred out.. Like orthadox Jew, but more religiously-involved... and well, different. Although I may not like thier heseedium ways, this guy could be the massiah they've been lookin fort ;) I play this next to 311, and Sublime...

" i heard this guy a week or so ago, and i was blown away. and then i saw pictures of him. i can't take this guy seriously anymore. oh my god, it's like "wait, WHAT?" it's ridiculous."

omg, lol, that is exactly what happened to me. The video for this song is HILARIOUS. It's Matisyahu in a little yamika and his long ass beard, gettin all crazy on stage, haha I love it. The fans get all into the song as well.

"I play this next to 311, and Sublime..." Heh, me too, those are like my two favorite bands.

I love this guy. I've known about him for a little over a year now and I just recently heard this album version on my new Promo Only. This song is fantastic.

The album version will be on his next album, "youth."

I stood staring at the screen mouth wide open for the entire first time i heard this. Never have the words Jewish and Raggae been used in the same sentence before!

I went to see Trey this summer and he opened for him, and man he rocked so fucking hard. It was amazing that this music was coming out of a guy like him. He's the shit.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Punchline

Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
