  General Comment:This song is about the old myth that butterfly wings have eternal life. It’s really asking you if you’re willing to destroy something so beautiful to become immortal. Like in the line “The blood on our hands is the wine” is saying how someone per say just ripped out the wings of a butterfly. And then the next line “We offer as sacrifice” is about the person offering the butterfly wings to the god’s in exchange for eternal life.

  Song Meaning:Ok maybe this isn't the message the song was written to have, but my interpretation of this song is:
  
  The lover (person she is having an affair with) of someone that is unhappy in another relationship or at least have found this someone else they would rather be with, is being asked to please leave the other person (her husband) so that they can have their life together. The woman in the marriage/relationship must prove her love to him by 'ripping out the wings of a butterfly' - hurting the innocent person she is in a relationship with when she tells him that she wants someone else and leaves him.
  'For your soul' - she loves this man more than her husband so she must leave so that she have what she really wants
  'Dont let go' - Don't forget about our love for each other, be with me instead of him
  'The blood on our hands is the wine' - they have fun together, but they are destoying someone else's life with their affair
  'Gods kneel before our crime' - To follow your heart and be honest about who you really love is the 'right' thing to do

  General Comment:i think it means that sometimes u have to do sumthing bad or "sinful" to be with the one you luv because it says "for your soul, my love.....rip out the wings of a butterfly" and that your soul means your freewill to luv who u want

  General Comment:the people who say they stopped being hardcore in Dark light and that it suks dont kno anything. Dark light is my favorite album because they defined "love metal" they made they're own genre man! that's good music.
