Lyrics for Hunter (Björk cover) as interpreted by sashley46

Hunter (Björk cover) Lyrics
If travel is searching
And home has been found

I'm not stopping

I'm going hunting
I'm the hunter
I'll bring back the goods
But I don't know when

I thought I could organize freedom
How American of me
This is soon
You figured it out, didn't you?

You could smell it
So you left me on my own
To complete the mission
Now I'm leaving it all behind

I'm going hunting
I'm the hunter
I'm the hunter
I'm the hunter

You just didn't know me....

This is a kickass Bjork cover. I am completely blown away by the impressive job they did covering her, because sucessfully covering Bjork is NOT an easy task. Jared's voice is absolutely gorgeous here!!

This is a Bjork cover!? I KNEW it sounded like Bjork! The reason I came here to check out what people were saying is for that very exact reason, to see if maybe it was...absolutely wicked...love Bjork!

In my opinion i think it's about a guy or a girl being in a disfunctional relationship..and losing themsevlevs like losing their identities...and so they are cheating out of desperation..and the other person finding out about it and dumpinghim or her...

I didn't know it was possible to cover Bjork... but when I heard this song, before the vocals kicked it, I was like "Hey, this is Bjork... why is it labeled 30 seconds to Mars"
Very good cover

Righteo, figured that one out on your own. Anyway, awesome song. Haven't heard the original, but I've been meaning to check it out, as I quite like Bjork, from what I know.

"If travel is searching
"And home has been found

I'm not stopping"

If the point of travelling is to find something, and what is found is home..it's not enough. He's going to keep going.

"I'm going hunting
I'm the hunter
I'll bring back the goods
But I don't know when"

He's the one who will keep searching for 'it'. He'll find it.. but he can't reassure anyone when he will.

"I thought I could organize freedom
How American of me
This is soon
You figured it out, didn't you?"

Reflecting on being left to do things on his own. "How american of me." I love that line, and his exexution of it.

"You could smell it
So you left me on my own
To complete the mission
Now I'm leaving it all behind."

He's been abandoned, and will abandon them now.

"I'm going hunting
I'm the hunter
I'm the hunter
I'm the hunter

You just didn't know me...."

Declaring he is the hunter and will not give up, and that they don't know him to think he would.

That's what I got out of it. Reminds me of Final Fantasy 7, if anyones played it. The Ancients, or Centra, were the first race on the planet, and were supposed to find the "Promised land" and some of them stopped and found homes elsewhere, but others kept going to find what had been promised to them.

Or maybe I'm a gamergeek, but I love the song.

This cover adds absolutely nothing to the original, ALL of the instrumentation is exactly the same. The only thing that's different is Jared's voice instead of Bjork's, and he sounds a hell of a lot like Bono in this one.

A good cover should add the band's own unique sound to a song. With a good cover, you should say "Wow, this is a cover?" once you start recognizing lyrics. With a bad cover, you can say "Oh, this is a Bjork song," as soon as you hear the first 5 seconds. Nice job, guys. I was actually hoping this cover would be could, but I guess, relatively speaking, nothing could make A Beautiful Lie half the album their debut was.

Sorry for the rant, I just think this song blows.

I can see that they've changed it a slight amount for their own personal purposes. Changed "Scandinavian" to "American".

RyGuy, sorry but I'm going to have to disagree with you about A Beautiful Lie not being half as good as their debut. I loved the first album, but a Beautiful Lie is so much deeper and creative lyrically.. and have you seen their newest videos? Each one is better than the last. I think they get better and better, can't wait to see what they come up with next.
Also, about this song. I agree with sever_lyricist.
The meaning is pretty literal.
The vocals are AMAZING.

I don't know about all this...

what sever said makes sense, but i think a little differently...

My ex boyfriend had some issues and sometimes he used to call himself "the hunter". Because of him, i have my own opinions...

i agree with the part that was said about "traveling is searching" i think he is saying that he hasn't found enough, and he is going to continue to search. (hence, "i'm not stopping")

but i disagree with what exactly he is "hunting". When my ex used to say it, he meant that he was going hunting for everything and everyONE that is evil in this world. Saying that he WILL bring back the goods, but doesn't know when because this isn't exactly an easy task....meaning that the "goods" (or evil) will be brought back eventually, whether that means in this lifetime or not.

the next part about organizing freedom, and figuring it out confuses me. im not for sure what he's getting at. maybe hes talking about going out on his own to retrieve this evil on his own, and someone figured out what he was doing. Maybe they were helping him on this mission, and when they found out, left him alone to finish it by himself...therefore finishing the song saying "you just didn't know me" over and over almost as if he is saying this to himself, because he is in despair about it.

it makes a lot of sence when he sings it, i know that's not what bjork meant tho.

I was pleasantly surprised when I heard this cover. Of course, it's not as good as the original, but quite a good effort.

I think it's really funny that something as simple as having a different person sing a song can change peoples perceptions of what the song means so much. I mean, I just went and read the ideas givien on the original Bjork version, and then cam back here and read these, anmd it seems like people have a completely different perception on the same exact song based simply by who is singing it. I mean, they dont even realize it, but here they are, saying this song is about "x" and "y", and then someone else talking about the bjork version says it's about "a" and "b"....ha ha, it's just fascinating...and funny.

Honestly, I think this song is a little messed up! I have only heard this version of it, with them singing it. And I am a HUGE 30StM fan, but, really it is just flat out weird!
