Cold to disappear but
I missed you more these days
And all these tatooed angels
Have brought me back today

I'm a wasted boy, empty master plan
Been stuck inside this lonely room again
You get paranoid, see vultures circling
Want to sleep with them down comes the final curtain
Until, you come, into your soul again
We'll be the worst of best friends
Does it feel like Christmas in Hollywood?
Does it feel like we're ever going to make it home?

Burn, baby burn
Strung out on a wire
Heart in a cage
You're so full of desire
You need, fast hands
To deal with all the liars
So don't burn baby burn baby burn

It's a waste of joy, I can hardly stand
Been looking for the ramp for my escape
And of animals, so close to perfect
They're the only ones who seem to know their heart
Does it feel like Christmas in Hollywood?
Does it feel like we could ever come undone?

Burn, baby burn
Strung out on a wire
Heart in a cage
You're so full of desire
You need, fast hands
To deal with all the liars
Bullet-proof skin to keep you alive
Burn, baby burn
Strung out on a wire
So don't burn baby burn baby burn

I can't hold you, I can't hold you, I can't hold you
To lose you is to never love again
To lose you is to never love again
To lose you is to never love again
To lose you

Burn, baby burn
Strung out on a wire
Heart in a cage
You're so full of desire
You need, fast hands
To deal with all the liars
Bullet-proof skin to keep you alive
Burn, baby burn
Strung out on a wire
So don't burn baby burn baby burn

I can't hold you, I can't hold you
I can't hold you, I can't hold you

General Comment:I can agree with Hunter1986 on the Satanic meaning behind this song. I dont think anyone in Institute had the intention of making it like that, but I do see where you can interpret the meaning into some sort of Satanism.
Then again..the song could be about cars for all we know :P

General Comment:For some reason I've always felt this song was just Gavin getting back into the scene of music making and all that.

"Cool to disappear but I missed you more each days
And all the tattooed angels have brought me back today"
He was gone from the music scene and missed it along with the fans and the new bandmates, the tattooed angels, brought him back into making some good ol' music. Heh.

General Comment:This song reminds me of Constantine (very much) the feel of it. Ha, Gavin was even in the movie. I doubt that Gavin tried to fuse satanic hoohaa into his song(s). But he definately uses religious concepts. Gavin said this in a recent interview: "My mother is Scottish, and they’re Christians. So, you take Jewish from one side, so I wasn’t really Jewish even though I have that blood in me, and a mixture of denominations. Throughout my life I’ve felt an affinity towards spirituality, sort of based in common sense – it’s almost as close to Buddhism as it is to Christianity; the idea of conscious, of contribution, of mindfulness towards other people. Those are simple rules of humankind that are common sense.”

General Comment:Now hear me out on this one...... it may take some of you a little stretch of the imagination to see it from this view point..This song has got clear satanic roots with referance to the tatooed angels and "your soul for OUR desire". The devil is you the listeners "worst of best friends" and lets not ignore the burning that keeps being repeated as if a mantra. "does it feel like christmas in holywood?" "does it feel like we could ever come undone?". These two lines are as if being quoted as a proverb or teaching when the devil answers one of his deciples with a question, much like Jesus does in the new testament. This song is evil. It is as if it is all about the devil who is fighting with a mortal for the rights to their soul. It is deep so I disagree with what someone else has said. This is disturbing when one puts it into the religious domain.

General Comment:I dont make anything to "Deep" out of the song, I like it and from what i hear, i think the lyrics are talking about the business that they are in which is music and in perticular the pressures of releasing an album. the second part talks about being in the lonely room which i take as his studio, where he writes and makes music. The paranoia and vultures that follow could be due to writers block and the pressure of fullfilling the expectations of his fans with his new band. the vultures could be managers, execs trying to rush him, and the curtain could possibly even mean thoughts of quiting altogether. next couple lines such as "its a waste of joy" and then talks about the animals, seems like he really isnt liking what he is doing, how it used to be fun and joyfull till it turned into a business and how animals dont worry about that kind of stuff. The thing that seems the loudest to support this idia is the title and part of the chorus, fast hands to deal with the liars, and bulletproof skin to keep you alive. because we all know how much lying probably goes on in the music biz, and of course you have to have thick skin to make it in that industry. It wouldent be a weird thing either, many artist have broken their writers block by writing about including his own wife Gwen Stefani, the first single off her solo album "What you waiting for?" Gwen said she got frustrated with the whole thing and ended up writing that song.

General Comment:'To lose you is to never love again' -

Possibly means that he knows he will never love anyone like he loves her?
