Lyrics for From Yesterday as interpreted by Reexxx1

From Yesterday Lyrics
He’s a stranger to some
And a vision to none
He can never get enough,
Get enough of the one

For a fortune he'd quit
But it’s hard to admit
How it ends and begins
On his face is a map of the world
(A map of the world)
On his face is a map of the world
(A map of the world)
From yesterday, it’s coming!
From yesterday, the fear!
From yesterday, it calls him
But he doesn't want to read the message here

On a mountain he sits, its not of gold but of shit
through the blood he can look, see the lives that he took
From a count to the one
He'll decide when he's done with the innocent

On his face is a map of the world
(A map of the world)
On his face is a map of the world
(A map of the world)

From yesterday, it’s coming!
From yesterday, the fear!
From yesterday, it calls him
But he doesn't want to read the message
he doesn't want to read the message
He doesn't want to read the message here

On his face is a map of the world

From yesterday, it’s coming!
From yesterday, the fear!
From yesterday, it calls him
But he doesn't want to read the message here
From yesterday,
From yesterday,
From yesterday, the fear
From yesterday,
From yesterday
But he doesn't want to read the message
He doesnt want to read the message
he doesn't want to read the message here

this song is beautiful i adore it

i think it could be about a soldier maybe?

"He’s a stranger to some
And a vision to none
He can never get enough,
Get enough of the world

For a fortune he'd quit
But it’s hard to admit
How it ends and begins
On his face is a map of the world"

but other than that i'm not too sure
maybe its talkin about the daily fear and duty of a soldier and saying its from yesturday saying here it comes again...maybe

but yes fabulous song

this verse is wrong:
On a mountain, a city, not a gold, nor blood
He can learn, see the life that it turn
From the count to the one
He’s decided when he’s done with the air

i'm listening to it and i'm not really sure what it really is. anyone got the answer to this??

yeah the soldier idea sounds logical. Awesome song and quiet powerful. this album is much more artistically expressive than the last. good job 30 stm!

Kind of sounds something like...

"On a mountain, a city, not of gold, but of shale.
Through the blood, he can learn, see the life that it took. From the count, to the one, he'll decide when he's done with the innocent."

Love the song, although the album overall is a bit disappointing. Still a very good album, just not what I expected, it's a lot more bland. I think it's about the past catching up with a soldier or someone similar who's done things they weren't especially proud of.

Ok, so perhaps:

"On a mountain, a city, not of gold, but of silver" instead?

I've been trying to work this one out for about 2 months now and that damn verse was giving me hell...
Oh, and I'd got this bit:

"Fighting off the world all around he can pay attention"

To be:

"Fighting off the world, all around he can message you"
(Only most of the time it drops the "you")

my thoery is a bit different but maybe it's:

"On a mountain he sits not on gold but when sift'd through the blood he can not see the life that he took..."

some things here don't match up...but it's a thought

Taking a stab at the 2nd verse: "On a mountain, a city, not of gold, but of silver- through the blood
He can learn, see the life that it turn
From the count to the one
He’s decided when he’s done with the innocent"

Y don't these guys just save us the trouble, hehe. It's a beautiful song with a lot of feeling; once again. I like the energy of the bridge; i hope somebody understand the entirety of what i mean... (for starters that last note or the last time he says "Fighting off the world all around he can pay attention" is incredible on a whole host of different levels.

well.. i'm pretty sure i've got the correct lyrics to that particular part:

On a mountain he sits, its not of gold but of shit
through the blood he can learn, see the lives that he took
From a council of one
He'll decide when he's done with the innocent

I thought it was pretty clear in the song.. oh well.

The song made me think of George W to be honest... ;)
But yeah.. quite fitting looking at it from the perspective of a soldier.

FROM YESTERDAY
He’s a stranger to some
And a vision to none
He can never get enough,
Get enough of the one

For a fortune he'd quit
But it’s hard to admit
How it ends and begins
On his face is a map of the world
(A map of the world)
On his face is a map of the world
(A map of the world)
From yesterday, it’s coming!
From yesterday, the fear!
From yesterday, it calls him
But he doesn't want to read the message here

On a mountain he sits, its not of gold but of shit
through the blood he can learn, see the lives that he took
From a council of one
He'll decide when he's done with the innocent

On his face is a map of the world
(A map of the world)
On his face is a map of the world
(A map of the world)

From yesterday, it’s coming!
From yesterday, the fear!
From yesterday, it calls him
But he doesn't want to read the message
he doesn't want to read the message
He doesn't want to read the message here

On his face is a map of the world

From yesterday, it’s coming!
From yesterday, the fear!
From yesterday, it calls him
But he doesn't want to read the message here
From yesterday,
From yesterday,
From yesterday, the fear
From yesterday,
From yesterday
But he doesn't want to read the message
He doesnt want to read the message
he doesn't want to read the message here

There, the correct lyrics :D

I think Lezlie has it pretty close, however I'm hearing "He doesn't want to write the message" and "He doesn't want to write the message out" respectively, maybe it's just me.

just heard this song, really good!
however here's what i think this song is about, might be way off but here goes...

i founded my interpretation that it's about a soldier as you've already said, sounds right to me.

"On his face is a map of the world"
i think this means that you can tell by his face (scars, aging etc) some of the experiences he's been through (fighting, travelling....)

"He’s a stranger to some
And a vision to none
He can never get enough,
Get enough of the one"

no one knows who he is and nobody gives a shit, "the one" might be a war or something.

i think pretty much the whole chorus is how war might be frightening but that's what he grew up to and it's the only thing he knows how to do.

"On a mountain he sits, its not of gold but of shit"

he doesnt get any credit for what he's done, he just does what his superiors tell him to do, and people keep bitching at him for doing it (killing ?)

"through the blood he can learn, see the lives that he took"

assuming the whole "fighting is the only thing he knows how to do" is correct, this might be him reflecting and wondering about the lives, families etc of the people he killed, how everyday people with normal lives get dragged into wars against their will and being killed

From a council of one
He'll decide when he's done with the innocent

He ultimately decides what to do, when he's had enough of listening to his superiors and killing people that doesn't deserve it

that's it, might be way off but now don't be too harsh on me now =)

I agree with the soldier thing, but one more thing:

"But it's hard to admit how it ends and begins"

People don't like to admit that they began a conflict, so it's hard to admit how it begins, and people don't like admitting they're wrong, so that's the "end" part.

I don't think it's "But he doesn't want to read the message here", if you listen closely there are too many syllables.

"Writing on the walls all around he can message you?" That seems more likely in that it has the correct number of syllables, but it doesn't quite sound right...in short, fuck knows what he's saying, lol.

Political, obviously, and seeing as their American and Jared's publicly spoken out against Bush, guessing it's against Dubya.

I think the song might be about Jared.. the fact that in the song, he says "I don't want to read the message here"

And it's not a poiltical song, not against bush.. keep that shit out of the conversation because it has nothing to do with it.. post your opinions about bush elsewhere..

... but the lyrics here are still wrong... it's on their site...

He’s a stranger to some
And a vision to none
He can never get enough,
Get enough of the one

For a fortune he'd quit
But it’s hard to admit
How it ends and begins
On his face is a map of the world
A map of the world
On his face is a map of the world
A map of the world

From yesterday, it’s coming
From yesterday, the fear
From yesterday, it calls him
But he doesn't want to read the message here

On a mountain he sits, not of gold but of shit
through the blood he can look
see the lives that he took
From a count to the one
He'll decide when he’s done with the innocent
On his face is a map of the world
A map of the world
On his face is a map of the world
A map of the world

From yesterday, it’s coming
From yesterday, the fear
From yesterday, it calls him

But he doesn't want to read the message

But he doesn't want to read the message

I don't want want to read the message here

On his face is a map of the world
From yesterday, it’s coming
From yesterday, the fear
From yesterday, it calls him
But he doesn't want to read the message here
From yesterday,
From yesterday,
From yesterday, the fear
From yesterday,
From yesterday
But he doesn't want to read the message
He doesn't want to read the message
He doesn't want to read the message here

those are the CORRECT lyrics..
