My story starts the day they said "she can't be found"
the news so dark, heart stopped, I stood silent without a sound
It's over, she's finished, mother lies with my father and sister too
Cold-blooded, they suffered, shot down by the outlaws after you
Sorrow swallows my screams

Strength of the world, is on my shoulders
Strength of the world, is on my side
Strength of the world, the one true beholder
Ice in my veins, for those who've died

I've seen my family fade away, you've taken my whole life
There's nothing left to say

Avenge the dead kill all who cross me in my path
Suicidal, I never planned on coming back
I want it, I need it, revenge is dripping from my teeth
Need nothin', to feel power, and bring the killers to their knees
Nothin' ta lose vengeance ta gain (you know I'll never be the same)
So taste my breath I'm close behind you (so desperate on your final day)
Sorrow swallows my screams

Sitting in silence with heaven above me I prayed every night by their graves
While I search for closure I feel it no longer
I can't turn my cheek away
I stand before you; I'll sin when I have to
But now I leave your side, to avenge my family's pride

So far forever alone, a greater punishment on me has been imposed
A killer falling from the light, I'll miss my family, I'll never be alright

General Comment:I believe the person who's family was murdered had to have done something for his/her family to be killed, because of the line "shot down by the outlaws after you." It's like they were trying to take revenge on the person by killing their family. Possibly like an organized crime group?

These lines still send cold chills down my spine every time I listen to this song. Damn. If you put yourself into the story told by the lyrics, You can just feel the vengeance boil up inside you.

General Comment:When someone hurts your family to hurt you, it is a much greater injustice than if they'd just hurt you directly. You might be able to forgive someone hurting you but if they hurt your family, there will be vengeance. This fits so many films from Clint Eastwood westerns to space age films. When you take away a person's reason for living, all they have left to live for is their hatred and the possibility of vengeance. It won't make it better but you have to do it anyway. Nothing matters more to a parent than his or her child. In the film "Taken", the father has no problem hurting another man's family to save his own. As he is leaving he says, "This could have been so much easier if you had cared about my daughter." Basically, my family means more to me than you do and if you hurt my family, I will hurt yours.

General Comment:i think it's about a man who was part of some secret organisation and his enemies got to his family and killed them, so he went after them in revenge. but after he killed them he can't believe it was the best thing to do and he feels like it was all for nothing and he's lost himself in the fight for nothing. when he says strength of the world it's like feeling he's doing the world a favour by getting rid of the killers but also that he feels he has the strength to go on forever for his revenge
this song is like an epic movie on it's own!

General Comment:This song is so awesome! Especially the line "revenge is dripping from my teeth."

I think this song is pretty self-explanatory. A man finds his family murdered and sets out on a quest to kill them all.

General Comment:Umm does anyone know if Matt Shadows has lost any family members because I'm almost sure that at the very end he says " It's all true" Very quietly. And if so this could be a song about his losses

General Comment:I believe this song to be the story of a man who has run afoul of the mob for one reason or another. He obviously valued his life and skipped town. He comes home and inquires about his family
"my story starts the day they say she can't be found"
He gets wind of what has happened and is enraged. He feels guilt because it is his fault.
"shot down by the outlaws after you"

I see the song's name to be representative of justice, and what the man sees as the natural order of things. the all leveling force in the universe. He feels ice flow through his veins, washing all feelings (love, guilt etc...) away and replacing them with hatred and determination. he becomes almost like an automaton, with one sole purpose.

He plans his revenge and goes after the men responsible and as they are in with the mob, he does not expect to come out alive, it's essentially a suicide mission. He is completely consumed by rage and gate at this point,
"I want it, I need it, revenge is dripping from my teeth."
Before he executes this plan he goes to his family's gravesite and speaks with them and god. He has a few second thoughts at this point but justifies his plan to himself and tells his family what he plans to do. He then leaves to accomplish his plan.

The last line I believe to mean that he has died as he expected and due to the fact the he died with naught be rage and hate in his heart he's off to hell
" a greater punishment on me has been imposed"
He is the killer falling from the light and he won't see his family again because they are somewhere else because they were innocents.
This is my first post, I hope it's not to lengthy, enjoy.
