the girls new boyfriend/lover, the narrator seems to accept that the girl doesn't love him any more

So he wants her to stay and than he imagines that she also wanted to stay and wanted him to forgive her... He imagines what he would say if she did - that this is her last chance.)

I don't really know who to interpret the first two lines because there are too many ways to do so. The last one pretty much speaks for itself.

Again, he's ready to let her go.
All in all I'd say that the narrator is a bit torn between forgiving her (one more time?) and letting her go because he still loves her. But in the end he accepts that the only right thing is to let go of her because she's hurt him to much.
This is just my interpretation.
okay i agree with mytornado, i think this about her killing herself metaphorically. shes killing who she is inside. i think he blames himself for it because "hes been gone" and shes doing all this for "the one she loves" all it takes is for the one she love is to dream what ever she wants and she becomes it. and he the ex or wateve rathrs see her cry then kissing herself goodbye. and i also thinking shes drinking to numb the pain and thats also changing who she really is.
but thats what i think i could be wrong...
an ex boyfriend talking about his girlfriend constantly being sad and waiting for him to console her and he's saying he can't do it anymore and he's sick of it.
And I think this song is talking about a guy (an ex) who is ashamed of himself for whatever he's done, and hes done everything he can to help bring her back to herself, who she really is. And I think the metaphors he used are talking about her killing herself, but also her killing who she is as a person. Almost like a funeral of the incredible person she was, "One drink and your candles burn" the girl may not be a drinker, but shes betraying herself and drinking. "Your colors running down" the colors of herself, her true colors. "If it was up to me, then you would cry tonight"... he would rather have her realize what shes doing, in which would make her cry, instead of having her continue these mistakes, her betraying herself. "when it's up too you, You kiss yourself goodbye" meaning that if he doesn't step in and make her realize what shes doing she'll never be her again. "When dreaming you, is so easy" its all about her and her wanting to be selfish and just party (not her) or he dreams of her coming back, thats all he can think about.
Thats just one opinion.
This song I think can mean alot of different things and can be taken 7 different ways, thats why it's a song, so everyone can realate to it.

and because shes threatening to kill herself but not actually doing it, its ilke she wants a taster of death
