Welcome to this institution
One way to resolution
I'm put on this medication (rolls down my throat ?)
Cause I cant ever sleep at night the same
This medication enjoys, enjoys most every day
(inaudible words)
Cause I close my eyes, I see land

What did I say?
What did I say to put Sister to Sleep?
and fall awake and die
and I'm never goin' to bed

Back to the day, back into this day
Back to another anthem, hotter than hell
Said that we're not (savages?) until we do it again
(More inaudible words)
and one last night I'll kiss your lips again

What did I say?
What did I say to put her to Sleep?
and fall awake and die
and I'm never goin' to sleep

I will take this (ferris wheel?)
and I'm sleepwalking back into this hell

Oh my darling
For the first time

Don't let me sleep tonight
and get in your way tonight
Don't let me sleep tonight
get in your way

What did I say?
What did I say to put Sister to sleep?
I'll never go to sleep
and I won't go back to bed

(inaudible words)
I'm sleepwalking back into this...
HELL

General Comment:I don't think this song sounds like Revenge AT ALL.

    More like Bullets.
I love this song. God, I hate that they changed their style. TBP was pretty much a waste of material (except for Disenchanted, Sleep, Famous Last Words and the B-Sides)

My Opinion:It's interesting that this was written before Revenge. It has such a Revenge sound. But then the lyrics are so Bullets.

General Comment:Sorry, IGaveEmHell, but this song was written before Revenge came out, and Gerard had that talk with Brian AFTER Revenge. So, while the song doesn't necessarily have anything to do with that specific time, Gerard had been dealing with alcohol and pills for awhile before he hit his lowest point.

Anyway, this is one of my absolute favorite My Chem songs, and if I ever meet any of the guys the first question I will ask them is what happened to Sister. It's such a good song, and the bridge is just amazing.

Also, there are two different live versions of StS. The most heavily listened to version was, apparently, taken during a sound check where Gerard hadn't completely finished the lyrics. He free styled for the lines he didn't have done, and those are the lines that when recorded are hard to understand. If you listen to the other version, which was taken during that night's show, you can tell that the lyrics are more clear and easy to understand, since he had finally finished all of them. :]

General Comment:..If I had one wish, it'd probably be for MCR to record a great studio version, only making it clearer and not changing up the lyrics..

General Comment:This song has a very nice Freddy Krueger feel to it. No, I really do think this song is about insomnia, being afraid to sleep and wondering how the others around them can sleep through it all...

    One way to retribution
    I'm putting on this medication
    Rolls Down My throat
    Because I can't ever sleep
    At night the same.
    This medication takes over
    Controls most every day.
    PLEASE
    HELP
    ME
    To Sleep
    I Put It On
    It‘s Going Down Right...
    As I close my eyes
    I see land

    What did I say?
Well did I say too much, sister to sleep?
    And fall awake and die
And I'll never go to bed

    Back... Into... This... Day…
    BACK INTO THIS DAY
    Welcome to another level
    Hotter than hell
    Stop wasting time on me
    Until We do it again...
    BACK INTO SLEEP STATION
DON’T YOU KNOW THAT I HAVE GONE TOO FAR?
One last night I’ll kiss your lips again

    What did I say?
Well did I say too much, sister to sleep?
    Fall Awake And Die,
And I’m Never Going To Sleep

    Ride The Ferris Wheel
    They Like Windows
    I'm sleepwalking
    Back into this hell

    Oh my darling
    For The First Time

    Don't let me sleep
    Tonight
    Keep me awake
    Tonight
    Don't let me sleep
    Tonight
    Keep me awake

    What did I say?
Well did I say too much, sister to sleep?
    I’ll never go to sleep,
And I wont go back to bed

    I Will Go
    Keep Your Angel
    I'm Sleepwalking
    Back into this
    HELL
    OH
    GOD

General Comment:I LOVE this song! It's on my MP3. I wish they would make a CD with this on it. Or just a studio version. ^^
Anyway, Gerard is talking to Death, and when Gerard says,"For one last night, I'll kiss your lips again," he means that he'll kiss Death's lips (cuz Death is supposedly a girl) one last time, meaning he's taking his life.
(That's what I think. Sorry if I'm completely wrong. lol)

General Comment:With the help of asdfg and musicsinger's lyrics,
I've created my own guess as to what the lyrics are.
    Here you go:

    Back into this institution,
    My way to retribution...
I'm putting off this medication, promise I can sleep.
Cause I can't ever sleep at night the same.
This medication it controls, controls me most every day.
Well, and, and, cause I, I couldn't sleep into the night, but...
Cause I close my eyes, I see land.

    What did I say?
Well did I say too much, sister to sleep?
    I'll fall awake at night,
And I'll never go to bed...

    Back... into... this... hell...
    Back into this hell...

Back to another level hotter than hell...
Stop wasting time with me, cause I'll just do it again...
Back into this institute...[can't hear words]...I’ve gone too far...
For one last night I`ll kiss your lips again...

    What did I say?
Well did I say too much, sister to sleep?
    I'll fall awake at night,
And I`ll never go to sleep...

I will take the ferris wheel...
Now I'm sleep walking right into this hell...

Oh my darling, for the first time,

    Don't let me sleep tonight...
    Keep me awake tonight...
    Don't let me sleep tonight...
    Keep me awake...

    What did I say?
Well did I say too much, sister to sleep?
    I`ll never go to sleep,
And I wont go back to bed...

I will go into my bedroom,
I'm sleepwalking right into this hell! Oh! God!

General Comment:thanks ! and i looked at lyrics posted for it and it wasnt at all what i had thought it was. i heard interviews about the song and the song itself many times and the original lyrics posted werent fitting in with the meaning of it as much as i thougth it would. so i listened to it about a thousand times and came up with these lyrics.

General Comment:Ohhh man I'm nerding out with this one,
I read the first lyrics and was like "oh yeah thats pretty acurate..." and then someone made corrections and it made more sense, then I saw musicsinger's comment and it's just weird how you can listen to a song thinking you know the lyrics, then you set different lyrics to it and it makes perfect sense too.
personally i'm going with musicsinger's. Also, the Sister being Death does make perfect sense and I (like the nerd I am) felt lame for not catching it, Gerard likes the Sandman series, where Death is Sleep's sister. Makes perfect sense for him to be facing death.

I love this song. I loooove the lyrics, and the fact that I'm still not entirely sure what they are kind of makes it cooler.
I wish they'd go more in this & Bury Me In Black's direction with their next album.
