I've been hiding in this bed for weeks from this
Throats raw from screaming and I haven't said a word
The sky is calling, and the stars they point to this

To a chair we see your breath in the air, but only for a little while
Your cold pale skin and tainted purple lips
Let me embrace you with this kiss
And together we'll float like angels
Together ... together we will float, like angels

Higher than the heavens the clouds part ways
'Promise me to never look down!' and we'll stay like this forever

If your stomach feels weak than my work here is done
To hide from our twisted ways, I've been hiding in this bed
Been hiding in this bed for weeks

General Comment:I think in this he's definitely describing that romeo and juliet dynamic.. I can directly relate it to Sid Vicious and his girl Nancy as well...To a chair we see your breath in the air, but only for a little while Your cold pale skin and tainted purple lips = Waking up to find her dead.. this whole song is a conversation he has with himself discussing how he decided to join her in death... "The sky is calling, and the stars point to this".. like it was fate they ended up the way they did.. "Higher than the heavens the clouds part ways 'Promise me to never look down!' and we'll stay like this forever If your stomach feels weak than my work here is done To hide from our twisted ways, I've been hiding in this bed..." to me describes their drug use and never thinking twice about how bad it looks because at least they have each other... your stomach feels weak is talking to the listener or the people outside looking in at their sad story.. but also him making sure she got her fix... To hide from their twisted ways they hid in that grungy hotel room where they were eventually found.

    General Comment:Poor Craig...
He is in love with his best friends girlfriend. He is struggling with the emotions he feels for her. Classic examples being staying in bed out of depression, Feeling like you need to vent but noone is there to listen or you can't talk to anyone. It is an allegory, for the most part, about his relationship with this girl. He uses the tale of sleeping beauty. He wants to awaken her to him. She is dead and cold to his feelings and emotion, We see her breath in the air but only for a little while, because she dies. Her cold pale skin and tinted purple lips describe a dead body. If he could just kiss her She would know how he feels, they could be together in bliss. As far as making her stomach weak, wouldn't yours be?

My Opinion:~Has anyone mentioned that someone might have been killed???~

When he's talking about hiding and not saying a word because he committed murder and is hiding from the police. This guy is spun out of his mind.

And it's not his throat thats fucked up its everyone elses. Key word and letter "throat[s]".

He's a serial killer/rapist/tweaker that becomes "best friends" with people or gets girls to fall in love with him planning suicidal love missions. Thats why he says "if your stomach feels weak then my work here is done" because the other person looks down {which they have promised not to do} and finds out that they've been decieved like a mother fucker.

He tells them that they'll be together in heaven but he fully knows that if he did kill himself he would go to hell anyways.

This guy [and this band haha] is sic and twisted.

That is why the words "Best Friend" have been redefined!!!

Song Meaning:I think that it means that this man lost someone he loved due to an argument they had and she went and killed her self probably from hanging and now he's guilty about it and just wants to see her so he's going to commit suicide. i'll show you how i got this:
    so here are the lyrics:

I've been hiding in this bed for weeks from this
Throats raw from screaming and I haven't said a word
The sky is calling, and the stars they point to this

    <<

To a chair we see your breath in the air, but only for a little while
Your cold pale skin and tainted purple lips
Let me embrace you with this kiss
And together we'll float like angels
Together ... together we will float, like angels

    <<<

Higher than the heavens the clouds part ways
'Promise me to never look down!' and we'll stay like this forever

    <<

If your stomach feels weak than my work here is done
To hide from our twisted ways, I've been hiding in this bed
Been hiding in this bed for weeks

General Comment:i was thinking something along the lines of this (To a chair we see your breath in the air)i think of this as hanging yourself and but (only for a little while) helps me in thnking that when you hang yourself you will stop breathing i think he did someting wrong to cause her to kkill herself and he finds her note ( in this bed for weeks) but there are more lyrics to say im wrong on his sorrow

Song Meaning:when he says "we see your breath in the air" she is alive...."but only for a little while"
the next line " your cold pale skin"...she is dead
he's still alive but wishes they could still be together "together float like angels"
"if your stomach feels weak than my work here is done" i feel is speaking to us
the begining and end of the song where he is in his bed is where he is mourning the loss of her (and maybe something he had to do with it..maybe"

well thats what it means to me anyhow:)

My Interpretation:First of all, I absolutely love Chiodos. This is my favorite song.
I think it's about a boy who is talking about a girl that is his best friend. They were in a relationship before, but he decided they would be better off as 'best friends'. She is in love with him, but he cannot reciprocate the feelings, so he breaks up with her. After they break up, she commits suicide, and he blames himself completely for it, and so does everyone else. He misses her dearly, and realizes what a terrible mistake he has made, so now all he does is lay in bed and visualize being with her in the afterlife, and he relives the memories they had while he is in mental and physical pain.

My Interpretation:Well at first I was thinking just the usual
Fell in love with his bst friend blah blah blah
But after reading more this is what I got

I've been hiding in this bed for weeks from this
Throats raw from screaming and I haven't said a word
The sky is calling, and the stars they point to this
(This is about suicide, maybe he's been hiding from the moment where he decided he would finally go through with it and kill himself. The sky is calling for him to go on with it.)

To a chair we see your breath in the air, but only for a little while
Your cold pale skin and tainted purple lips
Let me embrace you with this kiss
And together we'll float like angels
Together ... together we will float, like angels
(She seems to be dead. And he is having vauge flashes of his memories with her. And he wants to commit suicide with a kiss. With a somewhat Romeo and Juliet style with the poison on the lips. So they could be together again.)

Higher than the heavens the clouds part ways
'Promise me to never look down!' and we'll stay like this forever
(he finally did it. And the "promise me to never look down! and we'll stay like this forever' I'm assuming is figuratively seaking for him not second guessing his decision and carrying out with it so they could stay there forever.)

If your stomach feels weak than my work here is done
To hide from our twisted ways, I've been hiding in this bed
Been hiding in this bed for weeks
(His purpose is to make her feel special. And he's been hiding from this moment, and their "twisted" decision to be together how they chose.)

But then again I could be completely off. But who know (:

General Comment:I think it's about someone who has fallen for their best friend (I asume best friend due to the title). The person is hiding from their feelings though, in their bed. The world seems to be telling them that they should go after the friend, with the sky calling and the stars pointing. They are dreaming of what it could be like with the person, or what they wish it would be like. Towards the end of the song it seems the person is scared that the friend will react badly to their feelings and it will I guess make their stomach weak, so they're hiding from it and are ashamed.
