Could you move in slow motion?
Everthing goes by so fast,
Just slow down a little,
Save the best part for last,

You speak in riddles,
Your intentions turn me old,
I'm yours forever,
Will you love me when I'm gone?

When I'm gone,
You're an undiscovered!
(When I'm gone,)
Over walls we've trampled!
(When I'm gone,)
It's you I admire!
(When I'm gone,)
My living example...

oh,
Your eyes are an undi-
scovered ocean far away,
Any minute now keeping,
Both poets and priests at bay,

eh, don't get ahead of me, could we,
Just this once see eye to eye?
Could you want perhaps me?
Ask me how it feels to vie?

To vie,
You're an undiscovered!
(To vie,)
Over walls we've trampled!
(To vie,)
It's you I admire!
(To vie,)
My living example...

It's a photograph discovered,
A decade after,
It's a cannon-blast disguised as a, firecracker,
It's enough to bring a brick wall,
To its knees,
And sing,
Please, oooo...

Could you move in slow motion?
Everything goes by so fast,
Just slow down a little,
Save the best part for last,

For last,
You're an undiscovered!
(For last,)
Over walls we've trampled!
(For last,)
It's you I admire!
(For last,)
My living example!
My living example,

It's you I admire!
My living example...

General Comment:i'm not sold on the second verse...

"eh, don't get ahead of me, could we,
Just this once see eye to eye?
    Could you want perhaps me?
Ask me how it feels to vie?"

the third line, sounds more like brandon is saying "but you won't _____ me" and then "ask me how it feels to vie" in the fourth line. i can't figure out that word, but in keeping true to the theme of the verse it seems that she always gets ahead of him and because of it they are unable to see eye to eye. the third line then would logically continue this theme, maybe referencing the battle/competition/challenge/vie that he feels in the fourth line.

    any help?

General Comment:Like all of you, I take this as a reference to romance.

--As per [American] society today (especially for kids in HS), relationships start and end rather quickly, and often lead to sexual relations quite early on. IMO, the narrator has more than a lust for his object of affection, and doesn't want to spoil the relationship by moving too quickly, and (obviously) wants to save the best part [sex] for later, which could mean marriage, or at least until the relationship is well-developed.

    You speak in riddles,
    Your intentions turn me old,
    I'm yours forever,
Will you love me when I'm gone?
--The things you say are so ambiguous, that a lot time passes before I can figure out what you really mean. Regardless, "I'm yours forever" (my dedication to you is never ending), but are my sentiments returned?

    When I'm gone,
    You're an undiscovered!
    (When I'm gone,)
    Over walls we've trampled!
    (When I'm gone,)
    It's you I admire!
    (When I'm gone,)
    My living example...

    oh,
    Your eyes are an undi-
    scovered ocean far away,
    Any minute now keeping,
Both poets and priests at bay,
--Your eyes are deep and mysterious, and lovely.

eh, don't get ahead of me, could we,
Just this once see eye to eye?
    Could you want perhaps me?
Ask me how it feels to vie?
--Let's not argue, but perhaps compromise. I don't enjoy competing with you, you'd know if you asked me.

    To vie,
    You're an undiscovered!
    (To vie,)
    Over walls we've trampled!
    (To vie,)
    It's you I admire!
    (To vie,)
    My living example...

    It's a photograph discovered,
    A decade after,

It's enough to bring a brick wall,
    To its knees,
    And sing,
    Please, oooo...
--The romantic relationship was probably more of a friendship originally, and now as more time has passed, the feelings are a lot stronger.

General Comment:This is me and my exes song. and every line is perfect and will remain perfect for us. Nots ure if its meant to to mean the following but here's how we've interpreted it.

Could you move in slow motion?
    Everthing goes by so fast,
    Just slow down a little,
Save the best part for last,
    - ( I was always wanting the relationship to go places and quickly, rather then enjoying the motion of it. We now know that good things come to those who wait. )

    You speak in riddles,
    Your intentions turn me old,
    I'm yours forever,
Will you love me when I'm gone?
    - (he dedicated this song to me just before we broke up, i think he knew that we would and even though we were breaking up, we'd always love one another and there would always be something there, which there has been.)

    When I'm gone,
    You're an unfenced fire
    (When I'm gone,)
    Over walls we've trampled!
    (When I'm gone,)
    It's you I admire!
    (When I'm gone,)
    My living example...
    - (We've already been through so much, and we both stilla dmire eachother regardless)

    oh,
    Your eyes are an undi-
    scovered ocean far away,
    Any minute now keeping,
Both poets and priests at bay,
    - (He loved my eyes. lol)

eh, don't get ahead of me, could we,
Just this once see eye to eye?
    Could you want perhaps me?
Ask me how it feels to vie?
    - (Just because we love eachother still, doesn't stop us from always arguing, normally about what the hell we're playing at and "timing")

    To vie,
    You're an unfenced fire!
    (To vie,)
    Over walls we've trampled!
    (To vie,)
    It's you I admire!
    (To vie,)
    My living example...

    It's a photograph discovered,
    A decade after,
    It's a cannon-blast disguised as a, firecracker,
It's enough to bring a brick wall,
    To its knees,
    And sing,
    Please, oooo...
    - (i think we both know that one day it will all fall into place, in time to come and we will be together. We've got a very strong connection and no matter how much we ignore it it always come around and bites us in the ass!)

The songs beautiful and will probably stay in my heart forever, whatever happens :)

General Comment:yea this song is my favorite incubus song, it can mean many things, from love or just admiration for a individual. I love the ending. I wish they put their b songs and soundtrack songs on a cd and sell it, because their b side stuff is better than most A-side shit people put out every year in the industry.

General Comment:I love this song. I agree with parabola the slow motion thing pertaining to that blury love feeling. I think by "keeping both poets and priests at bay" means that the person he admires is so great they left poets and priests muted and stunned. I love the lyrics and I think it's a great song.
