  General Comment:This is one of my favourite B&S songs off what i reckon is their most underrated album. One of the things I love about Belle and Sebastian is their ability to make everyday events seem so beautiful and pogniant.

  General Comment:I've always related to this song. I'm a messed up girl, so my boyfriends used to try to save me from myself. Eventually I broke up with them, but they remained my friends. The idea of letting someone go because you love them and you'll ruin them is so painful and beautiful... just like this song.

  General Comment:its easy to hear this song and think its purely sweet and romantic. but now i also see it differently. its actually depressing now. dont leave the light on baby - ill see you sometime, maybe. this is one of their best.

  General Comment:two years later, i read this song in a different light..
  
  i'd say that maybe this is about someone who loves his girlfriend even though he knows he's such a mess and he's no good for her. probably not to his surprise, she breaks up with him.. and he just has to accept it, hoping that his honesty will eventually redeem him in her eyes...
