Simple words we never knew,
The power behind what they put us through,
Now it's all begun, what it takes to make it real.
We're standing on the edge of this,
When our soul is gone, what will we miss?
We lost what it takes to really, really feel.
Better days behind us now,
We all need someone to tell us how
To save the state of where we are,
Its keeps demanding more and more and more.
Who will save us?
This can't go on, without the meaning in the rhyming.
Can you save, can you save us?
I can't go on out of rhythm with our time.
We hold this truth self evident,
The lies we used to represent
Who we are, because it was never meant to be.
And all the songs we used to sing, used to tell us everything.
Now were left with, all were left is memories.
But the better days behind us now.
We all need someone to tell us how
To save this state of where we are,
It keeps demanding more and more and more.
Who will save us?
This can't go on, without the meaning in the rhyming.
Can you save, can you save us?
I can't go on out of rhythm with our time.
Say the words, give it all the time you need.
Let it out, you'll say anything.
Say the words and make them count,
Say the words without a doubt.
Give us truth and nothing more,
Leave us wanting more and more.
Who will save us?
This can't go on, without the meaning in the rhyming.
Can you save, can you save us?
I can't go on, we're out of rhythm with our timing.
Can you save, can you save us?
I can't go on, without the meaning in the rhyming.
Can you save, you say you'll save us.
I can't go on, were out of rhythm with our time.
The power behind what they put us through,

It's about the band and their struggle through the music industry. They want to take the next step, but are lost and confused by the music market, and are crying out for someone to save them.
"We hold these truths of evident
The lies we used to represent
Who we are because it was never ment to be"
What used to be a dream/lie is becoming truth: they never thought they would actually go anywhere, but they're getting more and more popular.
They're a band that is actually musical, but they're realizing that what sells isn't necessarily what they're used to singing:
"Without the meaning in the rhyme"
"Out of rhythm with our time"
And they're also realizing how much effort they have to put in to keep going:
"When our soul is gone what will we miss?"
"It keeps demanding more and more and more"
I could be totally off on this. But maybe it will appease someone's craving to know what it means....if anyone still looks at this page. I know this is an old song. It's just so good though!!
Simple words we never knew
The part behind what they put us through
Now it’s all begun what it takes to make it real
We’re standing on the edge of this
When our soul is gone what will we miss?
We’ve lost what it takes to really make it feel
Should be to really, really feel. It's amazing. Those are some of the most amazing lyrics. This song gives me chills with the piano and his voice. It's awesome :)
Cartel is still amazing.
What's so great about this song? Lyrics are lackluster at best... they barely flow and they have no punch whatsoever. Okay, so the singer shows 'emotion' when he sings them... but no amount of emotion excuses poor lyrics.
The singing isn't even that good. The melody is really off at some points...
I think the best element of this song is the piano, and when I first heard this song it still brought to my mind the image of some half decent myspace band home recording.
That said, each to their own, I just don't really see how 'fucking amazing' this song is.
And if this is the best song these guys have, I'll be sure to steer clear of them in the future.
Please, no one take offense to this. I'm just expressing an opinion, if listening to monkeys banging drums pleases you, then listen to it. If listening to the rain tapping on a tin roof appeals to you, listen to it.
Whatever makes you happy... this just doesn't appeal to me at all.
does anyone have the lyrics for the longer version, the one that's not acoustic? i think it's pretty much the same but the first verse is definately different. :D
