I am finding out that maybe I was wrong
That I've fallen down and I can't do this alone
Stay with me
This is what I need please

Will you sing us a song
And we'll sing it back to you
We could sing our own
But what would it be without you

I am nothing now
And its been so long
Since I've heard a sound
The sound of my only hope
This time I will be listening

Will you sing us a song
And we'll sing it back to you
We could sing our own
But what would it be without you

This heart, it beats
Beats for only you

My heart is yours

Song Meaning:I think it has to do with their faith, honestly, mainly because of how religious they are.

    It could fall into place.

"I am finding out that maybe I was wrong
That I've fallen down, and I can't do this alone" could mean that they though that they could do it their way, meaning sin, and they still need God to ride down this road with them.

    "Stay with me
This is what I need, please" They want God to stay with them, and never turn away because they need Him in their lives.

"Sing us a song and we'll sing it back to you
We could sing our own, but what would it be without you?"
That probably means they could do this alone, but what would they be without Him? They'd be lost, almost.

"I am nothing now and it's been so long
Since I've heard a sound, the sound of my only hope"
They're nothing, and it's been so long since God has answered one of their prayers.

    "This time
    I will be listening"
When He asks them, or tells them, to do something, they'll answer His call and be faithful.

    -Chorus-

"This heart, it beats, beats for only you."
Meaning they belong to God and keep Him in their hearts, their hearts are His.

General Comment:Everytime I listen to this song (and that is alotta times) I always think of different ways that it could be interpreted. And I never have quite figured out the fixed meaning of it and thats okay. That is what makes this song beautiful.

One way that I think it could be interpreted is as a response to the audience.

'Sing us a song and we'll sing it back to you. We could sing our all but what would it be without you'.

Fans and audience mean everything to Paramore. It could be looked at as being an appreciation song for the fans to thank them for being awesome fans and sticking by them through thick and thin.

This song was written early on in Paramore's career so loyal and true fans were crucial and very much appreciated and I honestly think that this could be the meaning behind it!

This could change next time I hear it though.......

General Comment:Maybe to Paramore it has a religious meaning, but to me it's just about the strength of love in any form.

p.s. Josh's screaming at the end plus Hayleys vocals soaring over the top gives me shivers!

My Opinion:Ahh, my favorite song... The song i dedicate to my love, cause she loves this...
Well, i think it is a song for God, but i guess the part
"We could sing our own, But what would it be without you?"
is for their band member who left...
But mostly because they're kind of a Christian band, i think it's about God...

General Comment:I am an atheist and i am without a doubt that is song i about god, but its my favorite paramore song. hayleys vocals are amazing in it and its such a passionate song. i also love the screaming in the background, i wish they would do that a little more. It just adds to the emotion. even though i feel this song was written about god, it can be related to love of all different things.

    General Comment:I thought the song was about Jeremy (Davis) leaving the band at first;

"Sing us a song and we'll sing back to you
    We could sing our own
But what would it be without you?"

Meaning they could still be Paramore, but it wouldn't be the same as before. But when I read the other comments saying it was about God, I realized that made more sense.
