My Interpretation:"Give him back his sweater, that poor fellow has only orchestrated symphonies into the poisoned ant hills." It's his little brother, the baby sitter stole his sweater. He's just been out in garden singing and playing with ant hills with poison that the parents put down.

"You have tried I'm afraid, don't let it hurt. I shouldn't stay, show your cards now, I want out." He's having sex with the babysitter who is on her period so she's sore. It started bleeding and he wants out.

"Stain the tub, clot the steak, cock the wheel, push it deep." He's fucking her in the bathtub and now it's goign to get stained with period.

"Fallen shade drowsy left me hopeless. Carve my head, great disguise took a breath gave it back." He's getting drowsy and hopeless, he can't satisfy her 'cause he's tired. They are exchanging air.

"Early-aged, self pitying misfit, experience, coincidence, quality menstruating." He is talking about himself, he's a young teenage misfit and thinking about his first sexual experience but he's started to enjoy the fact she is bleeding on his cock.

"It makes more sense to speak nonsense." The awkward situation has made him want to distract things away from the fact she's having a period whilst they have sex. So he is just talking but some of it isn't making sense.

"What is it like to scatter organs all over a deeply pasteurized land?" Well he's just finding out how it is to put his sexual organ in a deeply pasteurized (bloody) hole.

"Just like a cat without a mouse it maturbates, it violates. Sadistic dresser." He's had enough and pulled out! She hit him (The sadistic dressing bitch) and he (The mouse) is now watching her masturbate.

"Maybe it's the ability to choose that makes a wounded player take to the field and laugh at his injury than to be fed peas and carrots by his sitter." He's finally adressed the baby sitter he has been having sex with. He is the player and he is talking about the fact that he is a jew and has a circumsized penis, he is "injured". He took to the field anyway, the brave lad. The babysitter then cooks him up peas and carrots as they haven't had tea yet.

"Farewell to the oldsmobile, acknowledge the new models. Farewell, farewell." He's now saying goodbye to his sexual experience, he probably won't get it again. The new models are his hands which he will be using to pleasure himself from now on, but it won't be the same, he will always think of his strange sexual experience whenst getting himself off.

"Set me back in my old sweater for an hour or two, I can obtain satisfaction mutilating ones humiliating me." He's gone a bit a crazy due to the experience and wants to wear one of his old clothing items, reminding him of times before he had a sex drive.

"What is the point of laying in a comfortable position if you can't fall asleep in it?" He is now laying wide awake after the babysitter tucked him in. He can't sleep because he is disturbed about the nights events.

General Comment:well. this is pretty confusing i guess.

maybe the cat without a mouse thing means something like, the person has no motivation to go after anything in life. a cat has a purpose when it's going after the mouse. it's something to motivate the cat. the person may have no motivation in life or feel like there is nothing really to offer him to motivate him. so he feels like he is a cat without a mouse.

i think i over thought that.

but i also think when it says-
"it makes more sense to speak nonsense"
it's saying that in a way it makes more sense to speak what others are saying or talking about to fit in, even though it doesn't make sense.

    "early-aged,self pitying, misfit"
probably meaning this is about someone in high school, someone who is negative and doesn't really fit in.

    "Farewell to the Oldsmobile
    acknowledge the new models"
may mean goodbye to what he was comfortable with or what he once knew, and saying hello to the new and what he's not comfortable with. or he's finally accepting something

    "farewell farewell
Set me back in my old sweater
    for an hour or two"
after saying farewell to the Oldsmobile he wants to go back, and back to his sweater, he wants back for at least an hour or two. he might want back to what he knew, or what he was comfortable with. he may want to give up all together

    "You have tried I'm afraid"
might mean that others around him have tried to make him feel more comfortable but it didn't work.

the "chorus" is most definitely about suicide.

"What is the point of laying in a comfortable position if you can't fall asleep in it?"
probably really just means what it says, but it could also mean what is the point of socializing and trying , if you're still uncomfortable even if you're somewhere where you shouldn't be uncomfortable.

or AsTimePasses could be right too.
this could be about someone lying in bed and having immense anxiety about socializing or just about life and is over thinking it and having ridiculous thoughts about it or thinking about suicide , causing him not to be able to sleep no matter what position

General Comment:The "chorus" makes me think it has to do with suicide, and some of the other lyrics seem like they could go that way.

You have tried/I'm afraid- Failed attempts
Don't let it hurt/I shouldn't stay- Fear of what it will be like, desire to die
Show your cards now I want out- Desire to die
Stain the tub/Clot the streak- Wrist cutting
Cock the wheel/Push it deep- Shooting yourself, maybe through the mouth

    Just a small thought

My Interpretation:I believe that this song is about a man having trouble trying to sleep. "What is the point of laying in a comfortable position if you can't fall asleep in it?" As he lays down, his mind races and he is unable to stop his completely random thoughts. His mind is restless and he can't make sense of what he thinks and he goes off on wild tangents, such as: "What is it like to scatter organs all over a deeply pasteurized land?" and "Set me back in my old sweater for an hour or two I can obtain satisfaction mutilating ones humilating me" Just my two cents.

My Opinion:I think it's just a bunch of meaningless words to make a melody for the song.
Like, the vocalists making their voices like instruments.
I don't think they were trying to get any meaning out there or anything.
Either that, or they buried the meaning too deep under their ranting for me to get it.
Either way, this is still my favorite Number 12 song.

General Comment:The last line makes me think "You made your bed now lay in it."

I think its about comfort in what you know, and being afraid of what you don't know... and not wanting to be accustomed (sp) to it.

General Comment:This song is amazing, i first heared their version of my sharona, and got the cd as more or less, a joke, and now taht i have listen to it several hundred times, i am ashamed of my previous views, this whole album is amazing, and surprisingly deep, this song i believe is about isolation, adn not ahving anything around you to judge, or for you to judge, but then again i may retarded.

    General Comment:Stream of conciousness...

    complete and utter,

[rant] it doesn't mean anything, it's just not creating a mood or anything

it's just fantastic and it proves that you can write complete and utter shit and it will sound amazing!
