Lyrics for All The Pretty Faces as interpreted by foldsbaldwin

All The Pretty Faces Lyrics
Help me out I need it
I don't feel like lovin' you no more
I don't feel like lovin' you no more

Help me out I need it
I don't feel like touchin' her no more
Help me out I need it
I don't feel like fucking her no more

Well how did it happen
I spent two long years in a strange strange land
Well how did it happen
I'd do anything just to be your man

And you're not going anywhere without me
These trials don't prepare the error of
You're not telling anyone about me
And you shake and you plead while I sing my song

I don't feel like I don't feel like
I don't feel like lovin' you
I don't feel like I don't feel like
I don't feel like lovin' you

All the different places
Ringing out like a shotgun in my head
All the pretty faces
Ringing out when I just can't go to bed

Well how did it happen
I spent two long years in a strange strange land
Well how did it happen
I'd do anything just to be your man
I'd do anything just to be your man

You're not going anywhere without me
These trials don't prepare the error of
You're not telling anyone about me
And you shake while you plead while I sing my song

I don't feel like touching you
I don't feel like touching you
I don't feel like touching you
I don't feel like touching you but you can't tell anyone about me

But you're not going anywhere without me
Help me out I need it
You can't tell anyone about me
Help me out I need it

I don't feel like I don't feel like
I don't feel like lovin' you
I don't feel like I don't feel like
I don't feel like lovin' you

i think this song is about a guy who goes to prison (2 long years in a strange strange land) and get abused (wink wink) and then when he gets out he not into his GIRLfriend anymore, but he wants to be "her man" but he cant be anymore

thats what i get from it, lol.

ps. what up with him saying "fuh-touchin" at the end "i dont feel like fuh-touchin you"???

I love this song! I love the chorus "You're not going anywhere without out me."

Also, I love that it's the first song I've heard with Brandon saying "Fuck"

I've been thinking about this song... I think it's about a guy who can't make up his mind about breaking up with his girlfriend. He has moodswings, I guess. At first he doesn't feel like touching/fucking her no more, but then he'd do anything to be her man. I think she wants to keep the relationship a secret and that's why he feels that way. Or he kills her, because she shakes and bleeds while he sings her song... and then the prison idea fits. Mm, I can't wait for the new album, but I guess it's not coming out until mid-2006 now. Le sigh.

i thought the cd was supposed to be out in december...i was all excited, but then they pushed back the date...i guess they were being a tad too ambitous, what with the touring, recording, and compiling they had to do this summer...

Personally, I thought the song was about their conflictiong feelings towards ones partner, perhaps even the temptations of leaving/cheating on one's partner.

Apparently Brandon & Co. are all taken, either married or with girlfriends, so I think this makes sense given that they are probably always away from their loved ones (on tour or promoting their music) and have legions of female fans. Lets take a closer look at the song:

Title: All the Pretty Faces
*A reference to all the good-looking females they've met on the road, etc. since becoming big...Women throwing themselves at rock stars kinda thing?

"Help me out I need it / I don't feel like lovin' you no more ... / I don't feel like like touching/fucking her no more..."
**About not wanting/conflicting feelings towards their current partners. The "help me out, I need it" is like a plead to their partners to both understand and help them though these feelings.

"Well how did it happen / I spent two long years in a strange strange land / Well how did it happen / I'd do anything just to be your man"
**About how they want to stay with their partners and really do love them because they've been there for them all along. The "how did it happen" is because they never expected to feel this way, they feel they truly loved their partners. The "I spent 2 long years in a strange strange land" is, I think, a reference to their quick rise to success. Since this song was released in 2005, Hot Fuss was released 2004, they probably started in 2003? Thus, the Killers have spent 2 years writing, touring, promoting their music all over the world.

"And you're not going anywhere without me / These trials don't prepare the ERROR of / You're not telling anyone about me / And you shake and you PLEAD while I sing my song"
**I heard the words "error" instead of "era" and "plead" instead of "bleed", I could be wrong ... Anyway, I think this is about how despite their conflicting feelings, they still feel possessive over their partners. The trials refer to how all the love and time they've had/spent together couldn't prepare them for these confliction feelings/temptations. Then the "shake and plead" part is about how their partners feel.

"I've been different places / Ringing out like a shotgun in my head / All the pretty faces / Ringing out when I just can't go to bed"
**About all the different places and faces they've seen/met since touring, promoting, etc. How overwhelming this has all been to them in such a short time.

Essentially, I think this is a song about a relationship going through a period of uncertainty, and wondering if you are with the right person. So, it's about temptation, and most importantly, conflicting feelings, because they still love their partners and want to be with them, they just don't know how to deal with these feelings yet.

i think it could be about not wanting to touch his fans. they always want to hug him and love him but hes been touring for 2 years and is sick of it "i dont feel like touching you no more" and "2 long years in a strange strange land"

i heard him say in an interview that a new album promoting/touring is a good 2 years on the road and then it clicked in my head. that is what other people speculated too.

Strange strange land is a reference to "Stranger in a Strange, Strange Land" the book on which "Ballad of Michael Valentine" is based.

Uh, I can see more subtext in here...

"I've been different places / Ringing out like a shotgun in my head / All the pretty faces / Ringing out when I just can't go to bed" sounds like something I've thought in my head before, which to me has to do with bisexuality and always observing how beautiful everyone is.

"You're not going anywhere without me / These trials don't prepare the era of / You're not telling anyone about me / And you shake while you bleed while I sing my song" seems like talking about a secret. I imagined the narrator having told his girlfriend he was bisexual but she didn't understand him.

This song is totally about being tempted by horny fans. Brandon Flowers seems scared of females sometimes like he will actually get upset when fans are a bit forward- the other guys will flirt back and that's as far as it goes but Brandon- it's like he doesn't trust himself. Seriously.

Anyone else think that this song in particular is the only one of their new songs that actually sounds like it would be written by The Killers? I mean, I like "Replaceable" and "Why Don't You Find Out For Yourself" but it seems like all their other new songs are very softcore and un-Killersesque. I'm positive that after it's all recorded and whatnot, their new CD will rock much. This isn't really an interpretation of this song at all, is it?

I agree about this being him not trusting himself with female fans. Easily corrupted, hmm? I'll have to remember that. (Kidding...sheesh.)

Its on the Japanese version of "Sam's Town." That version already came out a couple days ago. There are two bonus tracks on the Japanese version: this one and "Where the White Boys Dance."

The version that's on the Japanese release of Sam's Town has the "fucking" changed to another "touching". I'm disappointed. :(

Am i seriously the only person that thinks this is a gay song!?!? how many songs do you people need to realize that he's gay/bi? [Where the White Boys Dance, Andy You're a Star]. It seems pretty obvious that he no longer wants to touch his wife who hasnt' he been married to for about TWO years?? (spent two long years in a strange strange land). He'd "do anything to be your man" could just as easily apply to a guy. "You're not telling anyone about me" - dont' tell people that he's gay.

Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part, but c'mon, someone has to think i have a BIT of a point here!

It sounds like he's singing about co-dependancy in a relationship. Kinda like my last relationship - he's not in love with her anymore after 2 years but is not prepared to let her go (probably because he doesn't want anyone else to have her) and she begs and pleads with him but he's saying no.
