Wait, dear
White horse is walking down my
street here
Your words are creeping at my feet
I fear..
That sunrise will come too soon and you'll
disappear
To the haze of a city and yourself
Oh noâ?¦

Look out
They're coming after us with big guns
They're only going to tell you all the bad things I've done
Even if the words they say aren't true
They've won
Now I'm left here dying in the sun

Whoa..
Seem like I'm only coming..
Seem like I'm never coming..
Seem like in my eyes I'm at..
I bet all the stars and boulevards
Aren't close enough to you

Late nights
Won't do me justice
When I dream Iâ?¦
Just get so damn depressed
And it's, it's not like..
I ain't trying to get over you
It's just hard to look at all the seasons pass me all the time
And I said..

Whoa..
Seem like I'm only coming..
Seem like I'm never coming..
Seem like in my eyes I'm at..
I bet all the stars and boulevards
Aren't close enough to you

One last
Phone call from you
It wouldn't hurt much
I just like to hear your voice
And pretend to touch
Any inch of you that hasn't said it all or read it all..
I sung my life away
And I say..

Whoa...
Seem like I'm only coming..
Seem like I'm never coming..
Seem like in my eyes I'm at..
all the stars and boulevards
Aren't close enough to you (Seem like I'm only coming..)
all the stars and boulevards
Aren't close enough to you (Seem like I'm never coming..)
all the stars and boulevards
Aren't close enough to you (Seem like I'm only coming..)
all the stars and boulevards
Aren't close enough to you

General Comment:I think this song is basically about the singer trying to accept the fact that the great relationship he once had is not there anymore. His partner has become cynical, negative, and impossible to please ("Any inch of you that hasn't said it all or read it all"/ "All the stars and boulevards aren't close enough for you"). He realizes how bad things have gotten and that it needs to end, but that doesn't make it any easier. So he's agonizing over it all and still reaching out to her ("One last phone call from you it wouldn't hurt much. I just like to hear your voice and pretend to touch."). What makes the song so sad is that it's not resolved at the end, kind of like one of those movies that just fades to black before any real ending. I'm not sure if that was purposeful or not, but it could very well signify that some relationships don't have a distinct beginning and end. Sometimes you just can't make a clean break, no matter how bad things have gotten.

General Comment:I think like most of their, songs it's about a girl, specifically 2. He is dating 2 girls and he loves one slightly more than the other. People know he's cheating so he's telling the girl he loves that those people are going 2 tell her what he's doing. He also wants 2 talk 2 the other girl one more time before he has 2 break up with her. Just my guess.

General Comment:i think "all the stars and boulevards ain't close enough for you" means that he's in love with a girl who's never happy, no matter what. although they tried really hard to make it work, he could just never be what she wanted. and in the end it hurt, which is what the rest of the song is about...

General Comment:This song makes me sad. I had a really good friend who I loved spending time with (a guy). Then he and I became too close and I know I wanted to be more than friends. Well now we realize that we can't be more than friends because life is too complicated. I really hope someday I will be able to move past that part, although I agree with you above that nobody could ever take his place.

The heart wrenching reality of our situation is that now we can't even be friends. Or we rarely are able to see each other and I miss him. I think about him a lot. Seriously, it makes me want to bawl. And I don't give a damn HOOT what anyone else thinks, when I see this friend I am going to hug him and kiss him if I am feeling strong enough. (That might take a bit of time, though.)

So I am just trying to be brave now and remember that he is in my heart.

General Comment:I thought the lyrics were:
... and you'll disappear to the haze of the city and go south
I googled it and there are two different versions.
    I think it's a wonderful love song.
It's probably about a girl he had broken up a long time ago, but still hasn't gotten completely over her, and he would still like to hear or see her, and that, well, "all stars and boulevards ain't close enough to her" wich I think means that nothing could ever replace her.
P.S. I recommended they should put Augustana lyrics on the site because I searched this song and wasn't there. I'm glad there are more people who like good music.

General Comment:ok i think this song is about a former relationship..him and his girlfriend broke up and now he is having trouble getting over her. and at the beginning of the song when it talks about big guns and how they are going to tell her things about him thats how they broke up because people told her things and possible lies about him.

General Comment:I think it's about someone who has left his hometown and someone he cared about to pursue life in the big city (most likely LA). "Stars and boulevards" is definitely a reference to the walk of fame on hollywood blvd, at least in my mind. He has moved to LA and got caught up in the life there--"they're only gonna tell you all the bad things i've done", "late nights won't do me justice", etc. He now feels isolated and has lost himself, and is far away from the person he loves.

"one last phone call from you" refers to him attempting to connect with her in a last-ditch effort to find himself and what he had before that he now feels he has lost.

General Comment:Does anyone else think that by stars he's not talking about the ones in the sky, but like hollywood stars and hollywood boulevard? I think this song is about how he always has to leave his girlfriend because he's so focused on his singing and career, hence "sung my life away" and "seems like i'm always coming home". eventually he loses her and now he really misses her and wants her back
