Lyrics for Another Round as interpreted by EWizaCFT

Another Round Lyrics
When she goes storming out
I run for cover
Rolling like thunder clouds
Hanging above her

Ring in the witching hour
Spells that I'm singing
Rain come and drown me out
Sinking deep below

Can you go another round
I will follow you down and out
Lets go another round
I will follow you down and

We could just lay around
Stare at the ceiling
Want to forget about
One for the feeling

Room full of photographs
Box full of letters
Come on make it last
Nothing else matters right now

Can you go another round
I will follow you down and out
Lets go another round
I will follow you down and out

Can you go another round
I will follow you down and out
Lets go another round
I will follow you down and out

Lets go another round
I will follow you down and out
Lets go another round
I will follow you down and out

Here's what Dave said about this song in an interview...

"This song was written around the time of the second album, this was written maybe eight years ago and just never really had a place on any of the other records."

This is one of those songs that was just meant to be played on the acoustic. I love singing along to this song. The verses just flow like some amazing song-writing awesomeness warm butter!

...or something.

One of my favorite tracks off the acoustic disk. (And most of it is in minor, which I absolutely love.) It's a very passionate, moving song. Especially when the harmonica solo is featured.

As with other songs off the acoustic portion to In Your Honor, this one puzzles me. There is the lame idea that it could just be a mishmash of feelings and emotions, and/or the infatuation that often accompanies love (or lust, whichever is suited to your personality/situation/etc.), and/or just any of the complexities that inevitably happen in romance. I really hate to say it's a love song (because that is so predictable), but unfortunately I can't think of much else. :o/ Anyone have any ideas?

i think the rock album isn't that great: all the songs seem to be about the same thing. except for best of you. that is one hell of a song, my friends.

but the accoustic on the other hand, is amazing. especially this song.

i think it means that he loves someone and, no matter what, he loves her for who she is (his wife??):

'when she goes storming out
i run for cover
rolling like thunder clouds
hanging above her
ring in the witching hour
spells that i'm singing
rain come and drown me out
sinking deep below

maybe she has a temper (when she goes storming out), but he likes it if it means loving her, or to sink into her (ring in the witching hour).

'We could just lay around
Stare at the ceiling
Want to forget about
One for the feeling

he doesn't care where he is, or what he's doing, a silence is comfortable with her.

'Room full of photographs
Box full of letters
Come on make it last
Nothing else matters right now'

memories of their times together (room full of photograph, box full of letters). he wants to make time with her last so he can have a good memory of her.

'Lets go another round
I will follow you down and out
Lets go another round
I will follow you down and out'

he wants to spend all the time with her. he will agree with her, and love her, no matter where she's going.

i love this song, it's great.

I agree with marigold16. This song actually holds a close meaning to me, whereas I can see that sometimes this song relates to my boyfriend and I. In the past, I've had one hell of a temper... but regardless he's stuck around because he loves me. Now I'm not saying either that I would like snap and throw things around. No. I just had a bit of a temper. I agree with him, though. It's about loving someone that has a temper and still wanting to be with them because they're still a good person.

Another Dave Grohl girlfriend-with-HPD song. Anyone who's been in a long-term relationship with someone like this can relate.

Thick and thin. Staying with your partner through Hell and high water. Getting her drunk so he won't have to listen to her tirade maybe? ;)

I get the feeling from this song that he's trying to get her to stick around? It's definitely about fighting with a lover. But yeah, I definitely get the whole "for better or for worse" thing...
