Can you hear me
Hear me screamin'
Breaking in the muted skies
This thunder heart
Like bombs beating
Echoing a thousand miles

Mine is yours and yours is mine
There is no divide
In your honor
I would die tonight

Mine is yours and yours is mine
I will sacrifice
In your honor
I would die tonight
For you to feel alive

Can you feel me
Feel me breathing
One last breathe before I close my eyes
This suffering
For receiving
Deliver me into the other side

For you to feel alive
For you to feel alive
For you to feel alive
Ahh

General Comment:I think the actual meaning of this song is easy, but to whom it refers to could be anyone, maybe it wasnt written directly for someone but can just be used by anyone, as most people will be able to relate to what is being said in the lyrics

General Comment:I also thought this was about Kurt.... Your right, alot of us newer FF fans do assume everything is about Kurt.

General Comment:Hah...I thought it was about Kurt as well, but idk I guess he should be over that. I know he wrote "Friend of a Friend" about him on this (the acoustic album) so I doubt he'd write two songs about him. I like the fan idea, that would be rad if that were true. I just got into the Foo like 4 years ago and I'd love to see them live.

General Comment:Last night Dave and Taylor were on the radio. Dave said He wrote this song in 1990 on an accoustic guitar right after joining nirvana, before they were ever big. He said he had to learn to play guitar left handed on Kurts a guitar when he had free time. He wrote it about Chris and Kurt. They took him in and he lived with Kurt in a total dive. He was really excited about the band. He later added for a long time he tried not to write anything that people might assume it was about Kurt, but he now realizes that shouldnt get in the way of him writing what he wants to write. He's known a lot of people that have had drug problems and died over the years. So not every song is agout kurt.

    General Comment:Awesome song.
Im a fairly new fan of the FF, in your honor is the first album i bought, and i wasnt quite sure what to expect. Ive heared DOA and Best of You before and loved em, but you can never be sure if the whole album is as good as you'd think.
But this song started and i knew this so wasnt money down the drain ;)
It rocks, omg does it rock !

And mostly i dont like the whole screaming, but it so suites the song. And it's not earbleeding false, always a plus ;)

General Comment:wow what a voice, eh? i love this song, one of the better ones on an album that kinda let me down.. even though i'd but it again before most albums on the market today. i think daves over the whole kurt/ courtney/ nirvana thing. the only song about any of that on this album is friend of a friend, and it was wrtten 15+ years ago, so let the comparisons cease. le the blink 182 fans argue about new projects writing about past bands lol

i think the meanings simple. someone the narrator cares for a lot isnt themselves, narrator would do anything for them to return to their old selves, even if he had to die for it cuz its killling him on the inside anyways

    General Comment:NOTE:
I know this is not what the song is about at all, but it would fit.
    -------------------------------------------------------------
After I had listened to it for a while and got recognized with the lyrics and started thinking about their meanings, I realized that it the crucifixion of Christ could fit. Think about it, in the point of view of Jesus, he's screaming to God and maybe even the people of the world,
"In Your honor, I would die tonight."
    This would be to God
    "For you to feel alive"
That would be to the people.

And where it REALLY fits is the second verse:
    "Can you feel me
    Feel me breathing
One last breath before I close my eyes
    This suffering
    For receiving
Deliver me into the other side"
"the other side" as in heaven.

I think it's an interesting point of view to take on, but to each his own, eh? Let me know what you guys think about this meaning.

Once again, I KNOW this is not what the song is about. I'm just saying that this one would fit.

General Comment:The song is also in the point of view of the person as he's about to die, after the act was done. The screaming may represent the last strains of life.
