This is morning
It's when I spend the most time
Thinking 'bout what I’ve given up
This is a warning
When you start the day
Just to close the curtains
You're thinking 'bout what I’ve given up

Where are you now?
As I’m swimming through this stereo
I'm writing you a symphony of sound
Where are you now?
As I rearrange these songs again
This mix could burn a hole in anyone
It was you I was thinking of
It was you I was thinking of

I read your letter
The one you left when you broke into my house
I’m retracing every step you made
And you said you meant it
There's a piece of me in
Every single second of every single day
But if it’s true to tell me how we got this way

Where are you now?
As I'm swimming through the stereo
I'm writing you a symphony of sound
Where are you now?
As we rearrange these songs again
This mix could burn a hole in anyone
It was you I was thinking of
It was you I was thinking of

I can't get to you
I can't get to you
And I can't get to you.. you.. you
Where are you now?
As I’m swimming through the stereo
I conduct a symphony of sound
Where are you now?
As I'm cutting through you track by track
I swear to god this mix could sink the sun
But it was you I was thinking of

Where are you now?
Where are you now?
This is my mixed tape for her
It’s like I wrote every note with my own fingers

General Comment:I always thought that the first few lines in this song, was talking about "mourning" not MORNING.
It sounds like he meant that he didn't want to be with anyone, and he just wanted to be alone
wallowing in misery. As harsh as that sounds, that's my interpretation.

General Comment:It's obviously mix, seeing as how that's what it says in the booklet that comes with the CD.

I'm fairly certain that this song is about his wife (although I don't think they were married at the time he wrote this) and how when he's away from her (on tour or whatever) he misses her so he made her a mix tape.

General Comment:I absolutely adore this song...It stirrs so many feelings in me that I can barely listen to it without wanting to start crying. I love what everyone has to say..

I just think that he loves this girl..and for whatever reason they don't see eye to eye...He made her this mix to let her know how she makes him feel..He could never put into words of his own so he lets the music speak for him.

    When you start the day
    Just to close the curtains
You're thinking 'bout what I've given up

(I think this line is my fave..Because I think he's saying that maybe she just doesn't do much of anything...She's depressed all the time and he knows that...Because he was the one that probably ended things...He gave up on them)

As we rearrange these songs again
This mix could burn a hole in anyone

(I always thought he said "As 'I' rearrange" but nonetheless... I like that he's saying...No matter how I arrange this, anyone would feel the weight of what i'm trying to say...but it's not for them...I made this for you...)

    I can't get to you
    I can't get to you
And I can't get to you.. you.. you
    Where are you now?

( I feel like with this line he means, mentally..He is blocked off from her mentally...Maybe she is not understanding the way he feels...Because she is hurting...And only feels her own pain...and not his regret...and when he says "Where are you now" he means in your head and heart...What's up with you? Why aren't you recieving me?)

As I'm cutting through you track by track
I swear to god this mix could sink the sun
But it was you I was thinking of

(I feel like he's saying the same thing as before, but somehow he's more intense somehow...because when someone says, "I swear to God" It usually means business..There is impact in those words..)

This is my mixed tape for her
Its like I wrote every note with my own fingers

(I love this line so much...because he is saying...I did this for you...and I couldn't have done it better if I tried....)

General Comment:okay rosesareblue- her name is kelly. they broke up right before this song was written. andrew was on tour all the time, it was incredibly stressful, they just couldn't keep doing it. they went to a new year's party after the breakup and had an enormous fight. andrew gave kelly a mix tape-it has some really good stuff on it, lots of neil young, pete yorn. andrew can't live without kelly. he misses her with all of his soul, and has to get her back. essentially most of everything in transit is about kelly. the day this album was finished being mixed andrew went to the doctor and was diagnosed with leukemia. he became insanely sick. while he was in the hospital kelly stayed with him and they of course worked things out. andrew got better (for the benefit of mankind) and they got married maybe last year? year before? but everything is okay now! =] watch the movie "dear jack".

General Comment:I think he says bitch, not that it matters. In iTunes, the song is labeled as explicit. So unless the English language adapted another "explicit word" that I'm not aware of, he says bitch.
