I will communicate with love
I will kill with emotion
From that very day I was able to laugh freely
Do you think that was a long time ago? I thought

The threatening world pressuring in?
Meaning that world would be outside of the cage?
Eventually I will get used to it, but when will this scar disappear?

Lets go out into the city with a bat
Come and play with me more

Do it now. God bless me! Bless you!
I cry from pain
ominous communication

You must be happy with logics and contradictions

When unhappiness creeps in
The meaning of that doesnt change
Am I laughing well in your world?

Who is more tragic?
You are probably more serious

Ill probably be able to laugh more when I am torn and hurt

False accusations kill me

Cries of grief will lead you to Jesus

Jesus Chris Rockn Roll
Lets meet up in a sigh

Jesus Christ Rockn Roll
Bound together firmly
Jesus Christ Rockn Roll
With no way out it is shaved off
Jesus Christ Rockn Roll

General Comment:i believe this song is about how people feel pain and go to God. i am a christian, maybe im biased. this song, according to my interpretation, uses kyos out look on life and his curiosity towards going to God for help.
"I will communicate with love" - how christians act and how he might want to act
"I will kill with emotion" - if he is talking about a figurative killing
"From that very day I was able to laugh freely" maybe killing people got a paranoia or guilt off his back
"Do you think that was a long time ago? I thought" - the memories came back to haunt him

this paragraph could mean that he acted towards people with love, even if those people persecuted him, threatened, or tortured him. the killing with emotion would then mean that it was a vengeance/get rid of fear act, and would get the persecution off of his back. getting rid of his paranoia would allow him to be happy and have a real laff. the real-life killing with emotion is using his emotions to make people feel horrible to make them leave him alone, or using anger to scare them off. this sitch would be from his distant past, and he feels guilty about it now? idk, its AN interpretation.

    "The threatening world pressuring in?
Meaning that world would be outside of the cage?
Eventually I will get used to it, but when will this scar disappear?"

this reinforces my thoughts, as the people he tried to be kind to were threatening and they caged him in his own fear- with the real world on the outside? no! hes saying that the real world was everywhere, in and out of the cage of fear. he'll get used to the fear and threats, but it will leave a guilty scar that he would have formed from his 'long-gone' memories that can never go away.

"You must be happy with logics and contradictions"
he is prolly talking about the atheists and agnostics who deny the existence of someone to help with the cage of fear, pain, or whatever traps you.

    "When unhappiness creeps in
The meaning of that doesn't change
Am I laughing well in your world?"

again with the laffing. he is saying that the unhappiness is inside him and will never go away no matter what, and he is externally laffing, as in the physical world which is the logical world of the agnostic or atheist, or the people who torment him. it is more likely as the world of the agnostic/atheist as they live in the logical world, the external world, the real one in which he externally laffs. no matter how much pain he allowed to creep in from the world he lived in, the cage of fear.

    "Who is more tragic?
    You are probably more serious"

not sure about this one, he could be comparing himself to atheists/agnostics, to his torturers, or jesus to one of the two or both. he and jesus would be the more tragic, as jesus died for those whom he loved tho they tortured him, just as kyo can empathize (sympathize) with that.the serious would be the cold, collected, logical. or it could be serious like a 'serious,' severe, grave illness or prevalent problem that the torturers represent.

"I'll probably be able to laugh more when I am torn and hurt"
he'll laff more in their world to hide his pain, guilt, fear, whatever it is. its like, the amount of pretending he'll do is directly proportional to how much pain he's feeling.

"Let's go out into the city with a bat
Come and play with me more"
prolly the people who put him in his cage repeatedly humiliate him in public, and look at it as fun.

"Do it now. God bless me! Bless you!
    I cry from pain"
he wants to get whatever the worst is (direct infliction, and in its moment) over with, and still wants to show love to those who hurt him, as the self-sacrifice jesus showed.

    "False accusations kill me"
prolly the threats and torment kyo experiences were for reasons incorrectly and unjustly assumed by the people who torment him, just as jesus was crucified for false accusations. i think this is a more direct lyric to jesus, with kyos life being the metaphor this time.

"Cries of grief will lead you to Jesus"
    ominous communication

you can pray to God with your cries of pain, guilt, etc cuz he is listening. it is "ominous communication" because God is an omnipotent being who can do anything he wants and is prolly a bit scary to a non-believer. or the communication in itself is ominous (prolly more likely) cuz it is threatening- if u were to hide behind a mask of laffing ur whole life, wouldn't opening up be difficult and scary?

    "Bound together firmly
    With no way out... "
in these final lines, kyo could be grouping these things all in one, as they go with eachother:

bound to the pain because it is a cage
bound to the tormentors because they possess you and keep you in that cage
bound to god becuz he is always there and always with you, providing strength

"with no way out it is shaved off"
what is shaved off? it is most likely his trust in everyday people cuz of his connection with God and the realization that no one can ever provide that same trust.

i hope u guys like this interpretation, i worked really hard

General Comment:I could go into great detail about this but my grammar is horrid and this thing does a weird jumpy thing when I type to much. I might type more later when I have the time :/ very few Dir songs I get into detail about this much when it comes to lyrics but this one is a HUGE exception.

My Opinion:I know this is probably a long shot to say, but it seems to me it has something to do with the death of Jesus. It doesn't have to be Jesus exactly but maybe he is connecting himself with how Jesus must have felt while dying or about the death. Maybe he thinks Jesus shouldn't have died in such a way just for the sins of others. More so about how we rely on him and praise how he died for us, etc...

    Who is more tragic?
You are probably more serious - this might have to do with the people whipping him and such. How it is tragic that Jesus had that done but even more so that they would do that to him and thought they were doing some justice.

Do it now. God bless me! Bless you!
    I cry from pain
ominous communication - how some christians yell about this to others but don't think about the pain jesus went through or just use Jesus as a way out, etc...

    Jesus Chris Rockn Roll
Lets meet up in a sigh - he seems to be showing sympathy or that he feels the same way

False accusations kill me- at how they accused Jesus of being fake and such which was a big part in his execution

Lets go out into the city with a bat - may be reffering to how they beat Jesus
Come and play with me more

General Comment:I believe that this song is more about how you can hide behind religion but the real world still exists and whatever you believe in you still have to live in it. There are a few lines about emotion and pain and I think he's saying that he would rather feel then block out reality. FYI I'm Christian as well so maybe I'm biased. Also to the earlier comment a our Christian rock: most of it is just gospel with a mediocre rock wrapper. No creativity so if this was the reAl meaning behind the song then of have to agree. LOL have fun

General Comment:I've always thought that this song was making fun of Christian rock, and fake christians who pretend to be all loving and then go home and, I dinno, beat there kids or something.
    "I will communicate with love
    I will kill with emotion"
That's what the first line has always made me think of. A preacher who talks all about Jesus' love, and then goes home and beats his kid or wife or something.
    "False accusations kill me"
Maybe the preacher is being put to death?

I'm still trying to put this story together, but it's what I get from this song.
