    General Comment:I think maybe its an address of a place where bad memories remain. Maybe something happened in a place with the address 672 to Amanda and to this day she still hasn't said anything about it...maybe she's hoping she'll never have to.

A number that just seems to stick in your head. sometihng that catches your attention everytime. or just pops up. A number that wont go away.... mine is 367

    General Comment:What comes to my mind is that she doesn't want people to find out about her, because of her expusure to the world with such introspective songs, so she just uses codes and codes. If the number has some meaning to her it isn't probably something we can or should know about.

    My Interpretation:Has anyone else noticed that 672 hasn't been professionally recorded? I think Amanda Palmer probably recorded 672 in a time of great distress for her (And this song is one of the most emotional I have ever heard) in order to listen back and improve on it, but couldn't ever recapture the emotion she'd sung the first time around.

    I think the significance of 672... Wow this is a difficult one. It could be something or anything or nothing, but the real meaning of this song is in the way it is sung for me.

    General Comment:I think 672 is an apartment number. "Someday they'll find out about you too" probably means someone who lived alone - and died - alone after all their loved ones passed on. They'll 'find out' because no one will know of that person's exsistance until they see his or her corpse in their apartment.

    Amanda really doesn't give us enough information to go on, but that makes it all the more interesting and myserious, in my opinion. Or it could be nothing.

    General Comment:I really liked some the theories I read here, but to me the meaning is much simpler, quite obvious and a little disappointing too, I must admit, haha.
    You are mostly talking about the meaning of the number 672, but I think the song is just about how we are always trying to figure out the meaning of amanda's songs (or the meaning of things, in general).
    music may be like a way of expressing your feelings and saying things you wouldn't tell anyone (like secrets). I think that maybe amanda went like: "yeah? already figured out that one? take that, then!", picked out these numbers that may or may not have a great meaning to her and did this song, just to talk about how people are trying to find a meaning in everything she says.
    In the end when she says "someday they'll find out about you too", the "you" is refering to the song or the number itself, someday people will found out about this number too.
    ...but we won't!
    not unless she tells us. :D
