Sit down, honey, let's kill some time
Rest your head on this heart of mine
Tell me, honey, cause you look so blue...
Just how did they get to you?
Cause I’ve been sold a
Waste of time
I'm gonna spend it
Yours and mine

Someone's in the kitchen
Cooking herats over the stove
Don't lie to me, never say goodbye to me
I don't want to be here alone
Someone's at the front door
Selling Band-Aids for our sores
You can bleed it, as long as they don't see it
I'm not going to be ignored

Come on darling, let's hang around
Let's wreck their precious, their perfect town
If it's all a dirty shame,
I'm gonna do it night and day

Someone's in the kitchen
Cooking herats over the stove
Don't lie to me, never say goodbye to me
I don't want to be here alone
Someone's at the front door
Selling Band-Aids for our sores
You can bleed it, as long as they don't see it
I'm not going to be ignored

Did you ever get the feeling
That you don't belong
Said the teacher in the classroom
I thing there's something wrong
But your desks are too heavy
And your walls are too white
Your rules are all wrong
And it's either run of fight
But I'm still running
I'm still running

Sit down, honey, let's kill some time
Rest your head on this heart of mine
Come on darling, let's hang around
Let's wreck their precious, their perfect town
If it's all a waste of time
I'm gonna spend it
What's yours and mine

General Comment:I LOVE the guitar break, and the lyrics that follow it. They way she sings it is just so angry. And then it goes back to just trying to be in love and in hell :)

General Comment:Yeah, I really did get the "gay in a small town" vibe as well.

Oh, On the topic of the guitar break... I didn't like it at first, but It's really starting to grow on me.

General Comment:calm down. I prefer songs that are about the song, not showing someone's "mad fucking skillz on guitar." It's not the end of the world.

General Comment:holy fuck. i can't believe someone said the guitar part is lame. this album was carrie's chance to finally show her mad fucking skillz on guitar. she went all out and it's the best they've ever sounded.

listen to evanessence if you don't like it.

General Comment:I agree with the being gay in a small town interpretation, I didn't like the guitar at first either, but it really grows on you! Same with Carrie's solo on Lets Call It Love.

General Comment:I agree with infanitygirl's interpretation and the song being about being gay. The lines "Someone's at the front door selling Band-Aids for our sores" make me think of some sort of relgious group (i.e. jehovah's witnesess) knocking on my door wanting to heal my sinful wounds by selling their religious rhetoric/propaganda. Hence "Bandaids for our sores" (wounds meaning homosexuality or any other thing considered blasphemous). But that's just me.

General Comment:Its definetly about a couple of somesort, one that doesn't belong. I don't think its gay specific, but that fits well.
