Believe me, Natalie
Listen Natalie
This is your last chance to find
A go-go dance to disco now
Please believe me, Natalie
Listen Natalie
This is your last chance to find
A go-go dance to disco now

Forget what they said in Soho
Leave the oh-no's out
And believe me, Natalie
Listen Natalie
This is your last chance

There is an old cliche
Under your Monet painting
Remember the arch of roses
Right above your couch
Forget what they said in Soho
Leave the oh-no's out
Yes, there is an old cliche
Under your Monet painting
You left the station now to the floor
With speculation, what was it for?
In that old hallway
Moses, why don't you say
You've been away for a long time

Believe me, Natalie
This is your last chance
To find a go-go
Forget what they said in Soho
And walk away
If my dreams for us can't get you through
Just one more day
It's alright by me

God help me somehow
There's no time for survival left
The time is now...
Cause this might be your last chance
To disco, oh-oh

General Comment:The part that kind of 'reveals' the meaning of this song to me is 'you led the station, down to the floor with speculation...what was it for?'.. OK so he keeps telling this chick, Natalie, that it's her last chance. It sounds like she led a bunch of guys on...In my opinion he's basically telling a girl named Natalie he's not gonna keep chasing her....either surrender her heart or he's gone. idk..that's just my interpretation and feel of the song. the parts where he puts the most emotion in it was that part where he says 'you led the station'....etc

General Comment:to be pretty basic... i think he's just saying life is short.
    "God help me somehow
There's no time for survival left
    The time is now...
Cause this might be your last chance
    To disco, oh-oh"
I think 'disco' is just a term in the song for life.

"Leave the oh-no's out" may be saying to stop saying no to everything and be a bit more daring.. because life is too short.

My Interpretation:i was always under the suspision that the line "there is an old cliche under your monet..." was talking about her smile. i'm not really sure why, but i think it might have something to do with art. monet was a famous painter, and so was da vinci (obviously). they might be referring to art as 'monet's, and therefore referring to the mona lisa (whose smile is controversial). i know it's a stretch, but that's what i think.

either way, this is my all-tine favorite killer's song.

    General Comment:The correct lyrics:

    Instead of:
"Mom says why dont you stay
You've been away for a long time"

    It should be:
    "Moses! Why don't you stay
You've been away for a long time"

General Comment:I agree. This is not just my favorite killers song, but one of my favorite songs of all time. I also like the name natalie because of it. It fits together so beautifully I can't even put it into words.

General Comment:This song is probably my favorite song ever, It has made me love the name Natalie, despite the songs dark undertones. But oh, every time I listen to this song I go into a fantasylanf with all the beautiful sounds of the song. Any dramatic storyline could go to this song. It would be great for a movie soundtrack.

4:13 to 4:34 leaves me breathless every time. The violins make me swoon. It just sounds so romantic.

General Comment:The 'old cliche under your monet' bit... Ever considered thinking of it literally? Monet being a painting by Monet, cliche being one of those framed mottos people sometimes have. You know, that say stuff like 'home is where the heart is' or whatever. Eh, I sound boring. :) sorry. This is probably my favourite song on the album, thinking about it. It's so bittersweet.

General Comment:his voice. his voice is what makes the lyrics so touching. the way it drags on the words and makes them so soft, esp. as he goes higher on "it's alright by me".

i just adore this song. more than anything.
however, "If my dreams for us can't get you through
    Just one more day
It's alright by me", sounds rather like he's giving up on whoever the song's about ?!

General Comment:what futurfaildnovlist wrote about the song is truly beautiful

    especially:

"Natalie could be a middle aged man stuck in a dead-end job as he watches the essence of his life slip through the hand he once thought held a tight grip on his dreams"
