I don't get you
I can't forget what you've forgotten
All along
I've never been so alone
Don't cry out
Cease fire
I was pretending
Your secret kiss of confidence
Was my escape
The perfect game to play
Don't cry out
Cease fire
Ten nine eight and I'm breaking away
I'm all dressed up and ready to play
Seven six five four and I'm all over you
Counting three two one and I'm having fun
Your fascination
With naked walls of silk and skin with no conditions
I needed you to notice
That's all I wanted
Don't cry out
Cease fire
Ten nine eight and I'm breaking away
I'm all dressed up and ready to play
Seven six five four and I'm all over you
Counting three two one and I'm having fun
Ten nine eight and I'm breaking away
I'm all dressed up and ready to play
Seven six five four and I'm all over you
Counting three two one and I'm having fun
Don't cry out
Cease fire
Ten nine eight and I'm breaking away
I'm all dressed up and ready to play
Seven six five four and I'm all over you
Counting three two one and I'm having fun
I can't forget what you've forgotten
All along
I've never been so alone
Don't cry out
Cease fire
I was pretending
Your secret kiss of confidence

Don't cry out
Cease fire

With naked walls of silk and skin with no conditions

Don't cry out

I was pretending
your secret kiss of confidence
was my escape
the perfect game to play..
and
Your facination
with naked walls of silk and skin
with no conditions
No conditions...Like this person she liked just wanted to use her when she was trying to get him to notice she was just doing it to get him to like or love her. Or she wanted him to notice she still had feelings for him. "I needed you to notice, that's all I wanted". I definitely also see this as a break up song, possibly they broke up and then decided to stay "intimate".
I don't get you
I can't forget what you've forgotten
all along
I've never been so alone
She can't forget that she used to be in love with him because she still is, but he's forgotten all the "good times" because he either never cared for her in the first place or he just wanted to move on.
In my opinion its about a girl who wants nothing more than a friends with benefits, but feels conflicted about it, like in my situation, things are great, i don't want a relationship at all, but also i sometimes have to remind myself 'DON'T GET ATTACHED, all you want him for is s_x, he is not cute nor sweet'
It's like someone's breaking up, after a long time pretending he/she still loved that person.
No he or she's like: don't cry, I'm over it too, right?
Sounds almost arrogant to me xD
we were eachother fall back people, but it didn't start out like that.
he broke my heart, left me on the side of the road staring as he moved on,
and that's the beginning:
"i don't get you,
i can't forget what you've forgotten"
the second time around, we kept our "relationship" a secret.
because my parents didn't approve of him, but honestly.
it was because he wanted to fuck around and not feel guilty.
"your secret kiss of confidence
was my escape
the perfect game to play"
by the third time, we knew we weren't anything serious or never would be.
just something to pass the time and make ourselves feel less lonely.
"ten nine eight and i'm breaking away
i'm all dressed up and i'm ready to play
seven six five four and i'm all over you
counting three two one and i'm having fun."
and lastly, when we "broke up" that third time because he couldn't even handle that small amount of commitment, he needed to mess around on me.
"your facination
with naked walls of silk and skin
with no conditions"
I think it's about a chick entering a relationship she knows will end badly or hurt her; she's doing it to rebel and escape her life and the people who don't appreciate her. And the guy doesn't really like her or is only in it for sex, but she doesn't care. Or maybe she's really in love with him and he doesn't love her back.
But she's okay with it. It's all for fun. Right?
