Where are we?
What the hell is going on?
The dust has only just begun to form
Crop circles in the carpet
Sinking, feeling
Spin me around again
And rub my eyes
This can't be happening
When busy streets
A mess with people
Would stop to hold their heads heavy
Hide and seek
Trains and sewing machines
All those years
They were here first
Oily marks appear on walls
Where pleasure moments hung before
The takeover
The sweeping insensitivity of this
Still life
Hide and seek
Trains and sewing machines
(You won't catch me around here)
Blood and tears
They were here first
Mm, what'd you say?
Mm, that you only meant well
Well of course you did
Mm, what'd you say?
Mm, that it's all for the best
Of course it is
Mm, what'd you say?
Mm, that it's just what we need
You decided this
Mm, what'd you say?
Mm, what did she say?
Ransom notes keep falling out your mouth
Mid-sweet talk, newspaper word cutouts
Speak no feeling, no, I don't believe you
You don't care a bit, you don't care a bit
Ransom notes keep falling out your mouth
Mid-sweet talk, newspaper word cutouts
Speak no feeling, no, I don't believe you
You don't care a bit, you don't care a bit
(You don't care a bit)
Oh, no, you don't care a bit
Oh, no, you don't care a bit
Uh-uh, you don't care a bit
You don't care a bit
You don't care a bit
What the hell is going on?
The dust has only just begun to form
Crop circles in the carpet
Sinking, feeling
Spin me around again
And rub my eyes
This can't be happening

Where are we?
What the hell is going on?
The feeling of losing yourself to your own mind, the confusion.
The dust has only just begun to form
Crop circles in the carpet
It's the start of a long process, the crop circles represent the unusual new patterns in my behavior and thoughts. It is just the beginning.
Sinking, feeling
Spin me around again
And rub my eyes
This can't be happening
Can someone tell me what is going on? I have no understanding of myself anymore, how do I continue?
When busy streets
A mess with people
Would stop to hold their heads heavy
The rest of the people in my life continue with their busy lifes. While I can only see the chaos inside my head.
Hide and seek
Trains and sewing machines
Hide and seek, the game of searching. I've used quite some drugs. Trying to spot that train that'll guide me to another realisation, something that I can't find on my own. Also am I looking for the sewing machines, something that will just alow me to just do something to get trough a moment, to let me saw trough that chaotic unstable construction and start again.
All those years
They were here first
All my life I have felt all of my emotions, they were here first, all those years.
Oily marks appear on walls
Where pleasure moments hung before
Now where I've lost my capability of feeling there'll appear an oily mark. Something that I can see from far away. Something ugly that shouldn't be there.
The takeover
The sweeping insensitivity of this
I've been conquered and taken over by my own mind. In this process I've been sweeped over, not being able to feel my emotion, I've become insensitive.
Still life
Hide and seek
Trains and sewing machines
My life continues, however.
(You won't catch me around here)
Blood and tears
They were here first
Mm, what'd you say?
Mm, that you only meant well
Well of course you did
Mm, what'd you say?
Mm, that it's all for the best
Of course it is
Mm, what'd you say?
Mm, that it's just what we need
You decided this
Mm, what'd you say?
Mm, what did she say?
I've explained most of the things above. The blood and tears also represent my emotions. Now there are alot of people, desperatly trying to help me. Everyone has their own idea of my process. This also calls upon the busy streets with the many opinions of people, the mess inside my head.
Ransom notes keep falling out your mouth
Mid-sweet talk, newspaper word cutouts
Speak no feeling, no, I don't believe you
You don't care a bit, you don't care a bit
Ransom notes keep falling out your mouth
Mid-sweet talk, newspaper word cutouts
Speak no feeling, no, I don't believe you
You don't care a bit, you don't care a bit
This is something that someone very dear to me would've said. This is the intrepretation of my highly sensitive ex-girlfriend. She can't understant my chaos. All she can see is that I don't care about myself, that I can't explain to her why I'm using these drugs, wich I cannot explain to someone else who's never been in a position like me.
(You don't care a bit)
Oh, no, you don't care a bit
Oh, no, you don't care a bit
Uh-uh, you don't care a bit
You don't care a bit
You don't care a bit
As if it has been quoted out of her head after every conversation I'm having and will have with her.
"oily marks on walls where pleasure moments hung before" either referring to the couples pleasure moments or the husband and the mistress's pleasure moments.
"trains and sewing machines" probably suggest they have children: trains refer to a little boy, and sewing machines refer to a little girl, and that they may be older now "all those years, they were here first" how is this divorce going to affect them
and the whole verse where is goes "mm what you say?" I believe it's actually replaying the wife and husband in the middle of the argument
The rest of the song is pretty straight forward, describing the pain, confusion and hurt the wife is going through "sinking... spin me round again... this can't be happening"
"blood and tears, they were here first" all the effort and hard work put into saving the marriage was there first, before this woman came along and started the affair
this part is not as clear "ransom notes keep falling out your mouth, mid sweet talk newspaper word cut outs" i just think that the husband is trying to justify why he cheated on his wife, but everything he says just lose meaning and he has no excuse for destroying her and their marriage
That's just my input
"we were here first" being about the Native Americans
and the insensitivity of the Europeans and so on and so forth
"we were here first" being about the Native Americans
and the insensitivity of the Europeans and so on and so forth
Where are we? What is going on?
The dust has only just begun to fall,
crop circles in the carpet.
Sinking feeling.
"Why is this happening? Looking around at this house, which was once a home... It's not the same with dad gone. It's completely disheartening," and obviously the divorce was pretty recent.
Spin me round again, and rub my eyes.
This can't be happening.
"I never thought it would come to this."
Hide and seek,
trains and sewing machines.
All those years,
they were here first.
"The happiness once felt in this home was here first, before the tension and decision you made to split. Shouldn't that mean something? Everything used to be fine, why did this have to happen?"
Oily marks appear on walls where pleasure moments hung before the takeover. The sweeping insensitivity of this still life...
"These pieces of artwork you've placed in absence of the photographs and happy memories that once were are devoid of feeling. They don't matter."
So by 'oily marks' I think of oil paintings or art in place of where precious photographs used to be, because the parent is trying to remove the other from their life completely.
Hide and seek,
trains and sewing machines?
Oh, you won't catch me around here.
Blood and tears?
They were here first.
I picture the child crying out in anger,"I will no longer find happiness here. It's gone, it's all gone. My anguish was clear when you decided to get divorced, my anguish was right there before the divorce happened, and you knew it, and that should've mattered to you."
(I picture this part kind of sarcastic).
What you say...
That you only meant well?
Well, of course you did.
What you say...
That it's all for the best?
Of course it is!
What you say...
That it's just what we need?
and you decided this?!
What you say...
Mm, what did you say?!
"You keep trying to reassure me that you meant well, that this is all for the best. How could you have meant well? How could this pain, how could dad leaving be better for us? You say this is what needed to happen? YOU decided this. What about me, did you ask me?!"
Ransom notes keep falling out your mouth,
mid-sweet talk,
newspaper word cut-outs.
Speak no feeling,
no, I don't believe you.
You don't care a bit,
you don't care a bit.
"You act like this is some kind of redemption. I know you're upset about this, too. Don't try to tell me now that you cared, even a little, about what I've gone through because of a choice you made, and don't pretend like you're all that happy about this, either."
Also, the newspaper cut-outs could mean a lot.
Announced marriages, a death, or something else, I don't know. I'm just not sure.
This song can be interpreted in many different ways.
That's just my take on it.
Where are we? What the hell is going on?
The dust has only just begun to form cop circles in the carpet. (As in, the dust is forming the crop circles, because its only now beginning to settle, as opposed to the dust forming and the crop circles being two separate entities.)
Sinking feeling.
Spin me around again and rub my eyes.
This can't be happening.
When busy streets -- a mess with people -- would stop to hold their heads heavy. (As in, all these people on the streets stop to hang their heads.)
Hide and seek, trains, and sewing machines, all those years, they were here first.
Oily marks appear on walls where pleasure moments hung before. (Ever notice how your handprints leave behind marks on the walls you touch?)
The takeover, the sweeping insensitivity of this still life. (The still life referencing the aforementioned "oily marks" as opposed to the "pleasure moments").
I agree and understand what you are saying.. Personally it seems from what i understand (taking into account what you have said also) that she must of slept with someone and everyone heard, but she obviously loved this person. I might be wrong.. But i am st

I feel is about what the German officials tell the jews is best. Like "Work Will Set You Free" and whatnot. Jew lives from the point they were invaded, to the point they died or, some of them freed.
"Ransom notes keep falling out your mouth
Mid-sweet talk, newspaper word cutouts

You don't care a bit, you don't care a bit
Ransom notes keep falling out your mouth

To me, says that all the threats, advertising, lies, corruption, broken promises, and all, became old. To the point that it was no longer believed, and they realized, they didnt really care at all.
And likewise in the last stanza.^
They were here first"
Let me guess, you believe that Germany is really jewish land so it should become a colony of Israel? Zionists never cease to amaze me.
