People in this kind of state often becomes very hard & stubborn.They don't seem to get on well with people esp the loved ones or the one who cares about them.They often misjudge their intentions.Explained in lyrics"Your heavy heart(full of grief & sorrow might be taken up from environment or was deep roooted from inside.) is made of stone.
The situation gets worsened when both parties find it difficult to approach to the solution due to the lack of understanding & communication between them.Offcourse,no one can experience & feel what the other person might be feeling or going through.In this situation its often hard to understand others.This is explained in lyrics as "& its so hard to see you".
The person is very offended by some statement uttered by the speaker who is trying to help but misreads it & find it offensive so she ran away in seclusion for peace.But the speaker says that "you don't have to be alone".He tries to tell her & explain to her that his message was of love.he loves her so much & he doesn't want to see her in pain & what ever he said to her was for her own good.He wants her to get better & come out of her depression & that he is merely trying to help her & he is not feeling guilty if what he has just said.This is evident in lyrics "& em not gonna take it back.& em not gonna say I don't mean that(offcourse the message is a very positive one).You're the target em aiming at(means the message was for your betterment).The speaker also feels the pain her beloved might be in & he doesn't want her to stay in it.As,lyrics says,"Em on fire for you".
I n the end,he is requesting her to come home with him.He is saying he feels incomplete without her.He needs her to get on in life & he needs her as badly as she needs him by her side not what it appears to be that she is trying to ran away from him because the opposite is true.

This is to the girl he loves... he's not going to let her go without proclaiming his love, even if he gets rejected, he wants her to know.

So important line of this song.. It really needs to gut to say someone that "i love u" and i won't take back this ever... :|
There is two parts to this song, the guy and the girl. the first part is the first person's perspective. the first person is openly in love with the other. "love to the loveless shown" the first person feels like there is no love shown from the other person but they still love them. "your heavy heart is made of stone." the 2nd person is quiet and doesn't show emotion about their love. "and its so hard to see you clearly" its hard for the first person to read the 2nd person. then at the end of the chorus it says "and i get that message home" I GET which says they told them how they feel, they got the message to them clearly.
the next part is the 2nd person's perspective. "my song is love, my song is love unknown" they love the first person but they keep it hidden. "but im on fire for you clearly" the 2nd person is stating that they are in love clearly with the first person and they think it is noticeable. the line at the end of the chorus this time is "got to get that message home" the 2nd person is saying that he/she hasnt confessed their love for the other yet. then the bridge talks about how one is going to act and do something about it(and im not gonna stand and wait) and the other is going to wait as long as it takes(not gonna leave it until its much to late) then one says im going to tell the world how i feel(on a platform im gonna stand and sing that im nothing on my own) then the other is saying please come and tell me ive waited for so long(and i love you please come home. then the last verse "my song is love is love i know and ive got to get that message home." the 2nd person finally realizes that yes i do love him/her and its time to tell them how i feel completely. so then he/she gets that message home =)
i wish a girl felt this way about me. thats true love.
I mean, the lyrics itself said it, k, well maybe the part where he mentions the message has a hidden meaning, but I didn't figured it out :P :)

I think that when he says your heavy heart that means that her heart is filled with love but its made of stone because she doesn't believe that he loves her as much as he does so she comes off as cold and because of that its hard to see the true her and her true feelings because she hides them. And she feels that she should just be alone because she feels he just doesn't love her or understand.

And he is saying that he's not going to take back saying that he loves her and that basically he means everything he says because she's the one that he wants and he just wants to get that message across to her so that she can come back to being that loving person that she used be and not leave him.

And he saying that obviously he's in love with her because he's making all these pleas to let her understand that he really does love her and that she doesn't have to be alone or on her own because he really wants to be with her.

And when he says he is nothing on his own he is telling her that he can't be without her and being with her gives his life meaning because without her he's nothing but with her he is everything.

And he's saying he's not going to stand and wait for her to realize that he loves her, he's just going to keep trying to get his message across no matter how long it takes. He's not going to wait for her to come around, he's going to make her come around because its going to be hard for her to deny a man who is adamant about his feelings and doing everything he can to let her know. And he's saying that to the whole world, he's going to tell everyone that he loves her and then finally she'll understand that he means what he says because he knows that she knows confessing to the whole world that he's nothing without her, he loves her and wants her to come home is truly what he feels and she'll believe him then.
I love this song. It reminds me of how I am with my boyfriend. Sometimes its hard for me to understand that he loves me and I always think about just being better off alone but then I just realize that being alone, I will really truly be unhappy because I love him and I know there's no one else I'd rather be with and that I'd rather be with him than with no one.
