this is a very emotional song. the meaning is plain and simple. its pretty much a fairwell. its filled with strong emotion. it makes me and my boyfriend cry everytime we listen to it. its so powerful and emotion; how couldn't it?

Yes, that tension building at the end really draws a listeners attention to the song and you can almost feel the pain in his voice as he sings. Great vocals!! This song has simplest lyrics yet it has to be one of my favorites.

As everyone's said... the meaning is pretty self explanatory. Everytime I listen to the song, the "goodbye" part gives me chills. Jareds vocals are so raw & emotional during that part. I love it.

The saddest n most emotional song ever frm the album.. I found myself CRYING when i heard it for the first time n i still do whenever i listen carefully to the lyrics. I loved how he gets more emotional towards the end of the song. N that "goodbye" gave me chills over n over again. Awesome job, Jared.

This song is actually about Romeo and Juliet.

The song is about how they tried to hide their love but the secret let out when they died and they all saw them together when they were dead. and when they say foobye, it's pretty much about them saying goodbye to eachother. If you read it over carefully you'll get what I'm saying. ")

A Modern Myth is definitely a raw and emotional song. Jared really put is heart to this, and it's one of the saddest but most wonderful things I've ever heard from them.

As everyone else said, this song really IS self-explanatory, since it can be related to any person out there.

It's simply a goodbye song, leaving something. I don't know, it's a bit hard to explain because it's kind of a "you-had-to-be-there" moment.

So say goodbye"
Such a sad line. I love it so much.
