Sometimes the girl is here
With her indigo eyes
And her brand new gear
She won't stay for long
And she has to walk straight home
Patience, time comes, she says
Kiss me but don't you tell
This is over as soon as this fire burns through

She's on the ocean
He's in the sand
She's stuck in motion
He is sliding gently off her hand

Springtime and turmoil
She pours white wine
And gets herself lost
She falls over
And disappears into the meadows
Wayward and high strung
She is lovesick and ever so strong
Then it's over like none of it ever was real

She's on the ocean
He's in the sand
She's stuck in motion
He slides so gently off her hand

General Comment:this is such a beautiful song, not just because of the melody. The lyrics are in themselves a treat. here's my take on em. the man and woman have had a fling, a short affair. the man is really hooked but the girl is restless. she is not ready to settle. she's to passionate like the roaring sea. the man is on the contrarary still and stuck, he is slowly drowning in the sinking sand. he is the man who has found the love of his life and being left he is not able to move on. the woman is no different in the end. she roams wide, but she is not able to forget the man. she takes to drinking but its no good. she's is wayward because the road home is gone. the man is her home but she has lost him for good she realises. and then with nothing left she chooses to end her life, like none of it was real

General Comment:She's on the ocean - she's in the sand..
The ocean is wild, it's wet, water, and sand is the exact opposite.. She might be all over the place, with no home anymore..
I agree with HungLikeAJury, that the relationship meant more than she thought it would. But I also think, that the man telling the story - or, the man in the story - has an important part, obviously. He has a real hard time figuring her out, and when he's sliding gently of her hand, I don't think it's her choice - she has kept him 'on the hook' for way too long, and he's gives up. It is a TOUGH relationship to be part of, and maybe she is much stronger than he is.

But even though she's strong, I also think she is very troubled. Like, a lot of very secure persons really are insecure, and she hides it well, except when she drinks - she gets herself lost. Gets herself. Like she is doing it on purpose, to get his attention, and as soon as he does, she disappears. She is very troubled.

    Hmm. Just a thought.

General Comment:It's the story of an affair... not necessarily an extramarital affair (although that seems like the easiest explanation), but it's something short-lived, passionate, and secret. He's in a position to commit to her (he's in the sand), but she's setting the rules, because something in her life is pulling her in another direction (she's on the ocean). He wants to hold on, but she lets him slip away.

However, after whatever life-changing experience she went through that separated the two of them, she finds herself moody, irritable, unpredictable - lovesick. She drinks alone, wanders off, and doesn't tell anybody what's wrong. It meant more to her than she'd wanted it to. She thinks the two of them could have been something amazing.

But with time, she moves on, like nothing happened.

    General Comment:love it.
it kinda makes me think of a relationship that cant happen.
    'She won´t stay for long
She has to walk straight home'
maybe shes to young for him??

'shes lovesick, and ever so strong'
shes so in love that it hurts, but mayvbe she doesnt let it show...

    'She pours white wine
    And gets herself lost'
she so upset that they cant be together... so she drinks, to leave the reality, an 'gets lost'
    just a few ideasss

General Comment:This song has been played 94 times on my itunes. "She is lovesick And ever so strong Then it´s over Like none of it ever was real". This feels horrible, when your ex is so over you that its like you never were together, like you never even existed. There is nothing more unbecoming.

General Comment:It´s about a guy who is really in love with a girl, but the girl it´s either embarassed of being with this guy for any reason you want to imagine (he is poor, she is married, etc.)
So the girl has o go "he is sliding gently of her hand". And she promises they will be together in the future "patience, time comes"
