Burn all the candles out
Make a wish but not aloud
Relive the here and now
See you now and then
I'm a revolvin' door
I've seen it all before
I will begin again
But I can't start until I've seen you end

I took a look around
I believe that in these eyes
The treasure's all we've found
May be more than needed
Now that we're old and worn
A little ripped and torn
One day we'll be reborn
One day I will meet you up again
Once again
Wait
Stop me so I can begin

End over end [Repeat x3]
I'm circling
End over end [Repeat x3]
I'm circling

I'm feelin' out of luck
Maybe I just feel too much
That old familiar touch
Always stained my skin
The good in everyone
The ties we left undone
The heart that meets your blood
All the things bring me 'round again
Once again
Wait
Stop me so I can begin

End over end [Repeat x3]
I'm circling
End over end [Repeat x3]
I'm circling
End over end [Repeat x3]
I'm circling
End over end [Repeat x3]
Oh yeah
Hey
Once again
Wait
Stop me so I can begin

End over end [Repeat x3]
I'm circling
End over end [Repeat x3]
I'm circling
End over end [Repeat x3]
I'm circling
End over end [Repeat x3]

General Comment:I dont think he's singing to a person. Well, he is, but not the part about meeting them again. Just like in Come Back, he sings about the "comfort of the chase", acknowledgement of moving on and being alone again. I think he's promising to come back and live his life again instead of letting whoever he's singing to get the better of him. He's promising to come back for himself.

    Just like this song, IMO.

My Interpretation:Love Foo Fighters! Being over 50, I can tell you all that life is "End Over End". In other words, our lives are cyclical; as the saying goes - "What goes around, comes around". We make mistakes; we move on, sometimes we try and begin again - like a "do over". Often we feel like we're spinning out of control (hence end over end). Hopefully we learn from each of our experiences, so take the time to reflect (outside looking in), and take this new knowledge with us. It won't be the same the second time around.

Another point of this song is that we shouldn't burn our bridges - even when we've been wronged by someone (or wronged them). The good in everyone Dave sings about is LOVE. When you have love in your life (not just your spouse/life partner) - but love for people, for life, for "The Spirit Within" yourself - you'll feel DYN-O-MITE! And my personal PS - prayer is clarifying and empowering - let the Spirit move you!

General Comment:Probably my favorite song thus far of the Foo Fighters. The desire to return to past instances to fill in the gaps, reminisce, and sometimes live the same exact way because occasionally you had it so damn good.

General Comment:It seems pretty obvious to me what this is about.
The guy and his girlfriend broke up. He's not over her, and he wants to try it again. He succumbs to all of the memories they had and wants to go back to her.
    Just my opinion.

General Comment:This is my favorite song on the rock album.

I think Monkey Wrench hit the nail on the head, this song is about reincarnation. The lyrics are pretty clear, "end over end" ad-infinum, "reborn," the "revolving door" metaphor, etc. In my own mind, I like to think of it as a love song to a soul mate. Definitely an awesome song, probably my second favorite in the Foo Fighters canon.

If you accept the reincarnation idea, it holds a neat little coincidence (in terms of spiritual belief) to the band name Nirvana.

General Comment:The way i see it...

The song is about Dave (or somebody else, but for tha sake of argument lets sat its Dave) deciding that he wants to start over again on life. He feels that he has made too many mistakes in life and now is unable to reach a desired goal. He wants to relive hislife, and undo any mistakes he made.

But he comes to a conclusion, that b4 he starts again, he has to at least see what conclusion that he cant stop yet. he must firsts see what his mistakes will lead to.

General Comment:I was playing the lyrics to this song over in my head the other day and i reakon its all about the after life and being reborn inot the world again once he dies. It sounds like he's talking to his partner and saying that he'll meet up with her again in his next life (I will begin again, But I can't start until I've seen you end) so that they can re-live their life together again. a long shot perhaps but it kinda makes sense to me. :D
