Lyrics for End Over End as interpreted by Master_of_Puppets

End Over End Lyrics
Burn all the candles out
Make a wish but not aloud
Relive the here and now
See you now and then
I'm a revolvin' door
I've seen it all before
I will begin again
But I can't start until I've seen you end

I took a look around
I believe that in these eyes
The treasure's all we've found
May be more than needed
Now that we're old and worn
A little ripped and torn
One day we'll be reborn
One day I will meet you up again
Once again
Wait
Stop me so I can begin

End over end x3
I'm circling
End over end x3
I'm circling

I'm feelin' out of luck
Maybe I just feel too much
That old familiar touch
Always stained my skin
The good in everyone
The ties we left undone
The heart that meets your blood
All the things bring me 'round again
Once again
Wait
Stop me so I can begin

End over end x3
I'm circling
End over end x3
I'm circling
End over end x3
I'm circling
End over end x3
Oh yeah
Hey
Once again
Wait
Stop me so I can begin

End over end x3
I'm circling
End over end x3
I'm circling
End over end x3
I'm circling
End over end x3
Oh yeah

Methinks the guitar riff in this song is muchas catchy especially after the opening verse when the drums and bass kick in. I reakon the Foo Fighters still have more albums to come despite some people's bleak view of this album (i think it's their second best, after There Is Nothing Left To Lose)

Another great song! Reminds me of 'New way home' or 'Floaty'

Possibly about needing a new start? to be honest, i have not a clue what this song is about but i adore it anyways. Methinks this COULD be the last album they make- not because i believe they have nothing left to give (cause this album is awesome and the foo fighters will always live!) but because ive read sources that lead me to think In Your Honor could, sadly, be the mighty foos' last album. I dont see how people can fault In Your Honor. it is packed with amazing riffs, powerful drum beats and dave's voice has evolved into some kind of godly force. also, there is an acoustic side which is as good as the loud songs. all in all, a fantastic album and critics need to get their head out of their ass and then maybe they would be able to hear the almighty sounds produced by the legendary fo fighters! :)

I think it's about everything he hasn't done or what he wanted to do and how he wants to change, he's getting sick of doing the same thing all over again, day in day out. It's all about memories & wanting to start all over again.. Well, that's how I take it anyway. This is my favourite Foos song on the album :D

I was playing the lyrics to this song over in my head the other day and i reakon its all about the after life and being reborn inot the world again once he dies. It sounds like he's talking to his partner and saying that he'll meet up with her again in his next life (I will begin again, But I can't start until I've seen you end) so that they can re-live their life together again. a long shot perhaps but it kinda makes sense to me. :D

The way i see it...

The song is about Dave (or somebody else, but for tha sake of argument lets sat its Dave) deciding that he wants to start over again on life. He feels that he has made too many mistakes in life and now is unable to reach a desired goal. He wants to relive hislife, and undo any mistakes he made.

But he comes to a conclusion, that b4 he starts again, he has to at least see what conclusion that he cant stop yet. he must firsts see what his mistakes will lead to.

This is my favorite song on the rock album.

I think Monkey Wrench hit the nail on the head, this song is about reincarnation. The lyrics are pretty clear, "end over end" ad-infinum, "reborn," the "revolving door" metaphor, etc. In my own mind, I like to think of it as a love song to a soul mate. Definitely an awesome song, probably my second favorite in the Foo Fighters canon.

If you accept the reincarnation idea, it holds a neat little coincidence (in terms of spiritual belief) to the band name Nirvana.

It seems pretty obvious to me what this is about.
The guy and his girlfriend broke up. He's not over her, and he wants to try it again. He succumbs to all of the memories they had and wants to go back to her.
Just my opinion.
