Can we last through the winter,
the water's starting to freeze.
The only one who remembers,
taking the wrong step falling in front of me.

This body's already aging,
these nights are already long,
and if I last through the winter
I swear to you now, I won't call.

Congratulations, go home now.

Will we last through the winter,
will we make it to see.
I never wanted a partner,
and I never loved you,
now you are free to leave.
This heart is already frozen,
I can't remember the fall,
and if I last through the winter,
I swear to you now, I won't call.
Congratulations, go home now.

It's too late, it's too late, they won't let go.
Follow five footsteps through that open door.

It must be buried under the heart
that makes this pace consistent.
You'll find it torn, that gate's been opened
I've been wondering, if you've been real with us.

It's too late

It's too late, it's too late, they won't let go.
Follow five footsteps through that open door.

It's that start stop and go
you've been dying for(2x).

I'm starting to think that Anthony might know alot about Roman mythology, and that it might be what he believes in. Juturna (the cd name) is actually the Roman goddess of water, wells, and springs. This song, and some others on the cd mention water. Janus (Juturna's husband according to mythology) is the god of gates, doors, doorways, beginnings, and endings. Note again, that in this song, gates and doors are mentioned. He is also a god of the threshold between the old year and the new, and the year begins with January (which is named after him, and which is also a winter month.) The song talks about winter alot.

I think that their might be a correlation between the song and Roman mythology. Just a guess.

Alrighty guys. This song is pretty simple.

‘Boy’ (Anthony Green) and ‘Girl’ are friends. ‘Boy’ develops feelings for ‘Girl’. There is always some sort of feeling between them. Girl likes a different ‘Guy’ now, ‘Boy’ (Anthony) confesses his love to her. She doesn’t bite. She goes with this new ‘Guy’.

Proof - Can we last through the winter? - (Symbolism of coldness, all things die in winter, including their friendship. Anthony is questioning whether or not it will last etc) ... Taking the wrong step, falling in front of me (the girl took the wrong step, and chose another guy, and feel for him, right in front of Anthony) This body is already aging; these nights are already long (meaning he is tired of waiting for her to be his) If I last through the winter, I swear to you now I wont call, Congratulations, go home now. (Pretty self explanatory, if he can last the winter without her then he never wants to see her again, and the ‘congratulations’ is basically reflecting the moment when she tells him that she’s with this other guy, he wants nothing more to do with her, thus asking her to leave) ... I never wanted a partner, I never loved you, now you are free to leave.. (Basically he is denying ever having those feelings for her, trying to hurt her like she hurt him) This heart is already frozen, I can’t remember the fall, and if I last through the winter I swear to you now I wont call (basically, he is already trying to give up, he cant remember the fall, meaning like the beginning, because it comes before winter, but also hints at when he initially fell for her) .. It must be buried under the heart, that makes this pace consistent (basically, he is saying, she must have some feelings for me in there somewhere, that is why our friendship and closeness has remained so tight and consistent) You’ll find it torn, that gate's been opened. and I’ve been wondering if you've been real with us. (She will find her heart torn, the opportunity has been presented to her, and if she doesn’t take him, he will wonder if their friendship was real at all) It’s too late. It’s that start stop and go, you've been dying for. (Essentially, its the wondering and the flirting that she craves, the ‘chase’)

    i definitely think its

"this heart is already frozen, i cant remember to thaw."

    -to thaw means to melt.

i think that means his heart is "frozen" in a sense that he does not want to love and its gone bad after what has happened, and he doesn't want to let anyone in to let his heart go back to the way it was... or "thaw"

i also think drmmrgrl mad some interesting points about this, i dont know how you came up with that stuff. . . but i really would like to think that anthony is human and is just talking about human relationships and shit that has happened to him. i just dont see how he could make all those really small connections.

    amazing song.

There is some greater correlation between Juturna and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind... I'm going to watch this movie and study the lyrics...

    I'll be back...

I think he's talking about the season "Fall." His heart is already frozen, so he can't remember Autumn.

when he says "i never loved you" and all the other mean things, do you think he's bitter like she broke his heart type of thing or do you think he really never liked her and she's acting like he does. or did what i wrote completely not make sense? haha

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
