Old school
Hollywood
Baseball
Old school Hollywood, Baseball

Tony Danza cuts in line
Old school Hollywood, washed up Hollywood
Standing in the sun I'm wasting my time
Old school Hollywood, washed up Hollywood

Old school Hollywood, baseball
Jack Gilardi's ten feet tall
Old school Hollywood, baseball
Me and Frankie Avalon

Old school Hollywood, washed up Hollywood
Old school Hollywood, washed up Hollywood

Hey man, don't you touch my belt
Old school Hollywood, washed up Hollywood
Standing in the sun I'm about to melt
Old school Hollywood, washed up Hollywood

Old school Hollywood, baseball
Jack Gilardi's ten feet tall
Old school Hollywood, baseball
Me and Frankie Avalon

Old school Hollywood, washed up Hollywood
Old school Hollywood, washed up Hollywood

Old school Hollywood, baseball
Old school Hollywood, baseball
Old school Hollywood, baseball
Old school Hollywood, baseball
Old school Hollywood, baseball
Old school Hollywood, baseball

Old school Hollywood, baseball
Jack Gilardi's ten feet tall
Old school Hollywood, baseball
Me and Frankie Avalon

Old school Hollywood, washed up Hollywood
Old school Hollywood, washed up Hollywood
Old school Hollywood, washed up Hollywood
Old school Hollywood, washed up Hollywood

General Comment:You can't analyse a single song in Mesmerize/Hypnotize without having the rest of the albums in mind.

General Comment:Love the rhythm of this song. Dance to it when I'm cooking. Is there any such thing as old school rock cos this song seems to me to have an undertone that sounds so like songs of the eighties. Hey, don't get me wrong, i'm not in any way damning it.

General Comment:Jack Gilardi is an asshole.

Apparently he was the head coach of a team during a celebrity baseball game at Dodger Stadium for a few years. Adam Carolla tells a story of Giraldi benching him for an entire game because of Gilardi misinterpreting a conversation between the two prior to a game in which Gilardi thought Carolla was telling him how to manage the team. Then tension all came out when Giraldi couldn't find Stephen Baldwin when he was supposed to be at bat and Carolla grabbed a helmet and bat, then went to home plate where Gilardi was still looking for Baldwin. With only 10 minutes left in the game, he told Carolla to turn around and go back to the dugout...Carolla in turn told Gilardo to "fuck off". Words were then exchanged, but nothing physical, although Carolla made it clear that if "that old man wanted to get a taste, he would beat the shit out him"

General Comment:To the people saying that others are being overly analytical of System's lyrics:

Not all of their songs are fueled by drugs, in fact, even if they are drug users, i don't think it has a huge effect on the songwriting. Many of their songs have social and political meanings, and if you're fucked out of your skull on whatever drug you prefer, you can't really make a coherent, meaningful point. Two large examples of the actual meanings behind their songs would be PLUCK and Holy Mountains. Both songs pertain to the Armenian Genocide perpetrated by the Ottoman Empire during World War I, which the Turkish government still refuses to acknowledge to this day.

To say that most of their catalog is inspired by drug use is asinine. Seems like your thought process goes "I don't know what it means, so it must not mean anything and these people are dickheads who don't realize that OMGZ SoAdz is t0ta11y 0n DRUGZZZZ"

Point being, if you don't know what the songs mean, just admit you don't get what they could be about, and move on with your life, don't come down on people who have a halfway intelligent idea.

General Comment:Here's an interesting fact on this song.

Annette Funicello was married to Jack GILARDI from 1961-1985, and was professionally affiliated with Frankie Avalon in the 60s-70s.

    Neato.

My Opinion:sigh, perhaps the song i dislike the most out of all the ones they released. (It's the only one i took off my library) Never really had a taste for this kind of sound. :(

even the lyrics don't mean much to me.

General Comment:yeah its true there's no deep meaning to this song. its about when Daron Malakian played some baseball with a bunch of washed-up celebs in a celebrity MLB team and his experiences. He played for the Dodgers BTW
