In demon days, it's cold inside
You don't get nobody, people sigh
It's so bad, lasting far, but love yourself
Hiding in a hole in there
All the glasses are too big
Bring it back, got to hold it back
To let you do that yet you don't want me back
Before it fall down, falling down falling down
Falling out to go far from the soul
Well these demon days are so cold inside
It's so hard to live, and so to survive
You can't even trust the air you breathe
Cause Mother Earth has a soul to leave
When lies become reality
You love yourself because it's easy
Pick yourself up it's a brand new day
So turn yourself round
Don't burn yourself, turn yourself
Turn yourself around to the soul
To the soul, to the soul
To the soul, to the soul
By expressive
You don't get nobody, people sigh
It's so bad, lasting far, but love yourself
Hiding in a hole in there
All the glasses are too big
Bring it back, got to hold it back
To let you do that yet you don't want me back
Before it fall down, falling down falling down
Falling out to go far from the soul
Well these demon days are so cold inside
It's so hard to live, and so to survive
You can't even trust the air you breathe
Cause Mother Earth has a soul to leave
When lies become reality
You love yourself because it's easy
Pick yourself up it's a brand new day
So turn yourself round
Don't burn yourself, turn yourself
Turn yourself around to the soul
To the soul, to the soul
To the soul, to the soul
By expressive

If you look at DGLIH, there are quotes to a number of songs in the album (like the "holes" in Fire out of the Monkeys head, "crack on the corner" a reference to White Light or other songs you might think are linked to drugs perhaps).
The album, cleverly, is given a sort of storyline. The writers detach themselves from the music and write in the shoes of the characters.
"Yes, there are a lot of problems with the world, but don't worry, there is still hope. We can all help out and things will get better so long as we are not sitting around just complaining about it." And that is seen stronger when you listen to the song and the happy orchestra of sound rising louder and louder throughout the beginning of the song.
This is by far my favorite album out of any band.
I think it's talking about the world we live in today...
It's so coruppt..
No one there to help us, we're all on our lonesome selves to survuve.
So messsed up, everybody lies, nobody's happy, we all 'sighh'
We can't trust no one, or nothing, it's getting so bad, the air we breathe is polluted to the point we can't trust it being safe to breath.
It's easy to trust, and love oneself, instead of helping others, and loving others, like we should.
So for those with good souls, it's telling them GOOD LUCK making it in this world.
Because y'all got a very hard role to play, but without you guys, even though we treat you like shit, we'd be gone.
Just my thoughts(:
*In these demon days, it's cold inside
You don't get nobody, people sigh
It's so bad, lasting far, but love yourself
Hiding in a hole in there
All the glasses are too big
Bring it back, got to hold it back
To let you do that yet you don't want it back
Before it fall down, falling down falling down
*Falling out to go far from the sun
Well these demon days are so cold inside
It's so hard for a good soul to survive
You can't even trust the air you breathe
*Cause Mother Earth wants us all to leave
When lies become reality
*You numb yourself with drugs and T.V.
Pick yourself up it's a brand new day
So turn yourself 'round
Don't burn yourself, turn yourself
Turn yourself around to the sun
To the sun, to the sun (repeat)
The lines that were incorrect before, I marked with a (*).
As for the meaning of this song, I completely agree with BoyNamedTim's post.
it is halfed to two part when the first part is when the individual who is the speaker sings about his troubles in life telling its a deamon days and they are cold, telling that you dont get anyone in life and everybody sigh, it tells that life treat you that way you need to love yourself and living in a hole and dont believe anyone and telling you such an unfree so you doing stuff you dont want and believed in
and in a such way you falling face down from the spirtuality and soul
the other part is like a choir hearing in the cherch that her meaning is to help the weak and cheer up people helping them get and see the world outside thier iner normal world
so in that part th choir is like a cheering up guys who telling the dude: look life is shit its "cold out there boy" people are indeffrent its hard being you and stay pure its hard staying pure and be a "strong" man in life and be a goodsoul. the "you cant even trust the air you breath.." is telling you cant trust anybody (thats why he's living in a hole), and the air is plutted and if there such woman called motherearth I bet she want us out, the choire telling him that lies become reality and you cant find truth in the reality so you go to dreamworld, to the dv and drugs that numbs you out.
and the choire telling you dont fall turn around and dont give up on your good heart
cause everybody burn with a good hear
such an optimic ending
i think the song is like a question and answer the two verses are parllel
*The Demon Days are the days we're living in right now, (You can't even trust the air you breath, Mother earth wants us all to leave).
*We're not facing the real problems we're creating, we're just ignoring them, (You numb yourself with drugs and TV).
*Its difficult to get by in this way of life honestly and virtuously, (..So hard for a good soul to survive).
Maybe they're trying to convey that we're living in the days of the demons as in the people currently running this world are evil?
On a lighter note, the overall message I think is that we can still change our ways. We can go through life harmoniously. (ex: Turn yourself around the sun, don't burn yourself).
My favorite line- You pick yourself up its a brand new day, so turn yourself, don't burn yourself, turn yourself around into the sun.
input?
I think it's just about how hard it is to keep doing what you know deep down is right, and how alone it can make you feel. Like you're crazy for trying to be a decent person and make a difference in a world that expects you to get high, get laid, and sit in front of the t.v. all the time. The way you'll reach out to people for help and support, and they'll just sigh and shake their head.
It's letting you know you're not alone, that any time it gets too cold you can turn around and face the sun for a little while. Not too long, because if you're a good person you've still got work to do, don't burn yourself. That no matter what you had to do yesterday to get by in a world that wasn't made for good people, it was yesterday, and you can put it in the past.
Most of all, to me, it means you're never really alone. There's other people out there just like you, trying to fight the good fight, turning to the same sun when they need a little bit of hope and warmth.
